  1. In the Index section of Affinity publisher I am trying to add a separator between the index item and the page number. Currently I am unable to add the "Right indent Tab" separator, when I click on it nothing happens. As a side note I am able to add the other separators. Does anyone know if this is a bug or have a suggestion as to how to solve this issue? The only other thing I can think of is to manually add Right Indent tabs to each Index item, but that would take a long time. Thank you Kindly.
  2. We are pleased to announce an update for the macOS release of Affinity Publisher, version 1.10.1 The detailed changes in Affinity Publisher for MacOS 1.10.1 over the release build Affinity Publisher for macOS 1.10.0 are as follows: Fixes & Improvements: Converting text with emojis, underlined text, or text with other attributes to curves would cause the app to crash. Application failed to launch due to downloaded My Account content that contains missing fonts. Fixed a crash that could occur when closing the application. Certain fonts failed to load/be found when language is set to some languages such as Chinese/Japanese respectively. Font Style names do not show when app language is set to some languages such as Chinese or Japanese. Trials have been reset, so anyone who has tried the 10 day trail before can start a new trial. Unsplash removed from the stock panel Help & localisation improvements. The improvements in 1.10 are listed in some detail in this 1.10.0 Publisher macOS update announcement UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers) The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in application menu, Affinity Publisher > About). If you’ve purchased from the Mac App Store— updates are done automatically next time you run your software after it is available in the Mac App Store. If this does not happen for you, open the Mac App Store app and go to the Updates page and then Store > Reload page or press CMD+R. This should hopefully force the update to show. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world which can mean it may take up to 72 hours for your update to be available. If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the software it will check for updates and offer to download and install any available update, or in the application main menu there is an option Check for Updates. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Publisher for macOS) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Mac App Store purchases and needs a product key).

  4. Hi, The save dialog box default to the last folder you saved a file to instead of the last folder you saved a file to OR the folder of the last opened file. This may seem a minor issue but it causes a lot of mistakes. Is there any chances you’ll fix this quickly ? Pretty please ?

  6. In the first picture I clicked on "Select" -> "Feather..." but it seems the selection is instead smoothed. If I try "Select" -> "Smooth..." I obtain the same result. On the other hand, if I go into "Refine", changing the "Feather" slides has the effect that I was looking for (see second picture). Is this something intended to work this way and I'm doing something wrong or is it a bug? I'm on macOS 11.4 and I'm using Affinity Photo 1.10.0 Thank you, Giacomo
  7. Hey so I'm pretty new to this software since I switched from Adobe. But knowing how well this software claims to sell on its latest update, I was and still am having problem with logging in to Affinity account in desktop version. It's either stating that the server is having a problem with some 0x000000001 code or it will pop a loading window but ended up stuck in a loop forever, be it in Designer or Publisher, having me resorting to Force Quit. I have some urgent tasks to be completed and all I have to focus on right now is to adapt to the software. Hope there's a way out on this.

  15. I just updated Affinity Photo and Publisher, but cannot bridge between the two. Message comes up to link them via StudioLink, but the Photo keeps messaging that update is required even after I did update.
  16. Can anyone help. I have used the Windows version of all the Affinity products for a number of years. I am moving to the Mac system but have a problem with using existing PC created files. All images are pixelated when opened on the Mac but still look okay on the PC. I use OneDrive with the Affinity Projects stored on each system which are synced , so its not a cloud problem. My pre Mac process was that I designed my work using two different PC's using the same OneDrive synch process and did not have a problem with files or images even though OneDrive had different paths. What am I doing wrong on my new Mac. Can anyone help me.

  18. I'm trying to creating an infinitely zooming picture that zooms in on the mean mugging baby's eye. I plan to write some code that zoom's in on the baby's eye, and once the zoom get's to a certain point, I will place the original picture overtop of the picture in the eye. To do this I have to make sure the original picture, and the picture in the eye have the same background, so I'm creating a rectangle with the right proportions around the baby, and then trying to scale it down until I can select it and copy the content that would be around the baby inside the eye, but when I scale down that low, the proportions can't scale down accurately enough because they must scale at even numbers for pixels (no decimals), when I scale back up, the rectangle doesn't fit properly. The video attached shows what I'm trying to do. ------------------------------------------------------------------ When I try to increase the size of the image past 45000 pixels, my computer freezes up. Is there anything I can adjust to fix this? These are the details of my computer Affinity Photo v. 1.9.3 Mac Mini 2018 Mac OS Big Sur v. 11.4 Processor: 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i3 Memory: 20 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 mean-muggin-baby.mp4
  19. Every time I try to create a new document, Affinity Designer freezes. I had this same issue with the free trial and thought it would go away when v1.9 came out so I went ahead and purchased the app. The free trial worked fine with Photo and Publisher so I'm not sure what's up with Designer. If I knew this program was such hell I would have just stayed with Adobe. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm really annoyed about this.
  20. I've contacted Serif Support over this. Doesn't matter - Designer or Photo - Exact same problem. It's been posted elsewhere. Someone suggested that to get eyes on it, post a new topic. So, I am. Support told me that it was a naming problem. That underscores in the File names could cause the problem. I added that NO OTHER PROGRAM I'M using has this problem, ONLY Affinity Programs. So, the problem has resurfaced. To be clear, it was working fine with underscores. Then it STOPPED. And now it's ALL I get. So, to be fair to the suggestion, I renamed the file in a location with NO underscores: You might notice, NO underscores up above. Failure to load - permissions problem. It loads fine in other applications. Again, JUST Affinity applications give me this headache. If it's underscores at all, one might think they wouldn't save or load with underscores, but, they HAVE. So, I'm not sure that's the problem. If it's a MacOS problem, why would it not matter on ANY other program EXCEPT Affinity? Odd, ya think?

  22. A MacOS Automator service plugin/workflow, programmed by yours truly: “Activate All Affinity Studio Panels” FAQ: What does it do? It contains a nifty AppleScript code that goes through the menu View > Studio, checks for all panels without a ✓ check mark and activates them all at their respective last position (if any). That's all. Why does it do that? Because otherwise you'd have to repeatedly open the menu and the submenu again and again, activate each panel one by one. Which is – pardon my French – a major p.i.t.a. As in, literally, a pain in the arm. Been there done that. How do I use it? Upon installation in ~/Library/Services (see included ReadMe) or in /Library/Services if you want to activate it for all users, you can run it from the Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher menu > Services > Activate All Affinity Studio Panels. You can assign a custom keyboard shortcut via System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services. Heck, you can even disable it from there if it annoys you. (But why should it? Hey, it's a Good Thing™!) It will only do its Good Thing™ while one of your Affinity apps is running frontmost. Should you accidentally launch it while using another app, it will only inform you that it can't do anything. Can it do any harm? I don't think so. But if you're paranoid, open the *.workflow document with the Automator app and see for yourself. It's open source. What does it cost? It's free as in beer. That is… feel free to contact me if you'd like to buy me a beer. I won't say no! Where can I get it? loukash.com/download What's there? You'll be able to download a file named "Activate_All_Affinity_Studio_Panels_v1.0.zip". Inside the ZIP archive, there are two files: • Activate All Affinity Studio Panels ReadMe.pdf – which you should read, obviously… • Activate All Affinity Studio Panels.workflow That's all. 23. Hi AP Team Don't know if it's truly a bug, to me this path of reporting made most sense. If I chose wrong, please apologise. Hi Affinity Photo team Hardware: MBA, 8 Core, 16 GB, 1 TB SSD Detected by coincidence: No problem, even super fast, are huge 360º panoramas using Live Projection, 27000 x 13500 = 364.5 megapixel Huge problems on same machine with Tone Map of a smaller 240 megapixel ARQ file, from a Sony 7RM4, 16 images pixel shift multi shot, first stitched to ARQ with Sonys Image Edge Desktop, then the ARQ loaded to Affinity Photo, developed by APs raw engine, copy by Cmd+J, then tried to apply Tone Map, what ended in Force Quit of AP after 30 minutes. Checking the Activity Monitor on the M1 during load into Tone Map Persona, there is a huge increase of system activity (the red dots) in the CPU history (press Cmd+3...) but almost none in GPU (...and Cmd+4 in Activity Monitor) history. The video begins with something completely different, concerning lens and chromatic aberration on Develop Persona. If you want the ARQ (2 GB) for analysis, please send a upload link. Have a nice weekend, Roland
