  1. Hey guys, I'm not an expert. I just started using the software about 3-5 days ago. I'm looking for any tips on my logos. I'm starting a new small business, so I want to get some shirts done. please help. Thank you.
  2. So basically, I asked in the Adobe forums about a printer's requests for my transparent kiss-cut sticker sheets, as I thought I'd get more logo designers and such passing by. The printers designer asked for a vector image so that the printer can print white ink first and then the design on top of that. So the way I (think) I understand it, is that I have to create a new vector layer that paths perfectly around the shape/image, fill it 100% opaque white, and then sit it below the main layer and rename it "print first" or something along those lines? Then add the white colour to another document swatch? I am not sure what the guy in the screenshot means when he mentions "overprint in the attributes panel". Is that basically what I have already done in affinity by creating a "CutContour" swatch and adding the cut line colour (magenta)? Also regarding the text, I have used a glitter texture to fill the text, so I assume I need to do the same thing for that and would it be best to keep it on the same white layer as the image, or create a 2nd white layer just for the text? The printer is Chinese, so it is difficult to grasp exactly what she is saying. So if anyone has experience with this sort of thing, I'd really appreciate guidance! Thanks!
  3. Hi, I made an Affinity Designer asset that contains Social and others logos. You are free to use this logos. SocialAndOthers.afassets
  4. Saw someone had done the new Affinity Photo/Design/Pub V2 Logos…and thought I’d have a crack at it. Created in Designer, Vector…of Standard Logo…with some variants. Free to use if you’d like….give me credit for the designing at least but no matter! Hope they’re useful… Enjoy! UPDATE: Just wanted to add the Affinity Icons Assets file, so you can utilize them easily as an assets collection. Enjoy! UPDATE-UPDATE 11/19/23: Due to a comment from another member, have deleted the included Assets I created for others to use from this and another post created with them. Sorry, wanted to share….but can thank him. (Was a comment in another post, not this one so deleted all).
  5. A video showing the process I use to clean up a character design for logo/ mascot. Using combinations of Pen, Stroke settings, Corner Tool, and Geometry subtractions. The final version would involve removing any white elements, a few more geometry subtractions, and making sure all strokes are expanded before Adding all paths together. I can also see a few design choices… like making sure his feet are flat if I spent more time on it, if it wasn’t a demo(I like bending curves) ☺️ Hope you like, let me know what you think, or if there are any questions IMG_2551.MOV
  6. Hi there! Well, more than a legend in a good sense, the first try of Microsoft to bring Internet Explorer to the "present" back then. I must say, I always liked this kind of Icons, so, I had a little time to play a little and try to reproduce Internet Explorer 7's Symbol: May I will do Edge next... If anyone is interested, I attached the source file. Hope you all are doing well. Best regards! Internet Explorer 7.afdesign
  7. Hello :) Not quite sure how to explain my problem, but here goes: I am working on a logo design and I used some curves and some type to make it. I would like to make it different colors, so I can present it to my client. The problem is, that I have to select all the curves and change the outline color for them, and then select the type (which I already converted to curves) and change the fill-colour. Is there any way that I can make the logo into a cohesive vector-file, so that I can select the whole thing and change the colour? This would also be helpful for exporting it, so the client doesn't have to deal with this issue, but can just change the color of it as needed? Thanks in advance! I'd really appreciate the help!
  8. Hi all, I'm a complete noob to Designer so was looking to pick your brains as to how I would go about recreating the attached logo? Any tips or ideas would be gratefully appreciated.
  9. I am slowly finding tools I had in Illustrator and using those in Affinity, This has been a fun experience. This is a logo for a company in GA. The kanji is the simple symbol for dragon and the client wanted a sword in the design. The sword took me while to incorporate but once I saw it I think it worked out. I also made a dragon illustration for the design -- Logo is vector and dragon sketch is pixel.
  10. Hi guys, I hope you are right. In this months I've done some logos, nothing special… Can you tell me what do you think? I just done this logos during my free time to publish on my Instagram page.
  11. I'm very new to all this all I want to do is quite simple, I have a high res logo, I want to make it's background transparent and then layer it on top of a photo, without too much degradation in quality. Please can someone help?
  12. Forgive a question which I'm sure must be very very basic, but I am trying to manipulate individual letters - elongating them without distorting. In the attached example I have a capital T with serifs. I want to be able to elongate one side of the T's upper bar whilst maintaining the original shape/dimensions of the serif itself. Thank you very much.
  13. Heres a set of duplicate personal logo designs i created.
  14. This is my offering for the new logos. The original post is here... https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/9558-new-branding-for-affinity/ This is the 'Affinity snooker rack' and the initials of the individual app. Any thoughts? Just say, good or bad; all are welcome.
