  1. What do you guys think about the logos being updated? I think they look pretty poor. More like this? I was a lot more strict geometrically. Don't mind criticism.
  2. I'm a member of a Music Production/DJ group called Ultimate Rejects (UR). This piece was made using vectors and alot of stroke work with customized pressure graphs. The hand to the left is making the letter 'U' symbol in sign language and the hand on the right is making the letter 'R'. The hands were difficult too draw by memory as I'm not a natural artist so i drew it on paper first and imported a snapshot into the project. The image on the cap is our logo. Paying for artwork for our albums and singles became costly so I purchased AD & AP in Oct. 2016 so I def consider myself one of the 'day ones' lol. ~ Joel - Self taught Graphic Designer.
  3. Hi everyone, I'm working on a logo and I'm trying to get rid of 2 filled sections of some triangles, the outlines are already done but the fill is still there, the area that I want to clear is the red crossed out part, does anyone know how to do this? The way I was thinking to do is just clear the fill and use shapes to fill it in instead, merge those and then select the colour, but I feel like that'll take longer than other solutions I've attached a screenshot Thanks
  5. Hi, I'm currently remaking my personal logo for my portfolio. I would like your advice on which one do you prefer, because I don't really know what to do... Also, if you have some suggestions to improve my logos, feel free to share them. For the moment it's only draft and not final. I was looking something that represent me. My first name is starting with "N" and last name with "D", but really difficult to make a cool design with those letters. I really love nature, animals, space and aircraft. For my logos I was thinking about solar eclipse or how to introduce an aircraft for my logo. I prefer something circle since it's easier to put on a website or favicon. I don't know if it should be transparent or be filled up with colors. You can find all drafts in attached files. Here is my current logo that I want to remake. I think it was too simple. Basic questions : 1. What do you think? 2. Should I add colors? Gradients? 3. What should I add/remove or how can I improve my logo? Thank you for feedback.

  8. Hi, I am designing a circular logo through affinity designer. I am having trouble removing the reset art board so that I can export my image just as the circle. I have been looking everywhere but I have not found a solution. I already set the background to transparent when I set up the document but it will not save without it. Essentially, I am wondering how to remove the background and save my design as a circle instead of also saving the white space background on the art board. Any help would be amazing I have been looking for so long and I am very frustrated! Thanks!
  9. Hi everyone! I've been playing around with this brand which I work for since 2003 (yep, not a typo... I'm getting old). These 3 are different stages of the last iteration of the logo. We relaunched the brand late 2014, around the same time I switched to Designer. The (mildly) interesting thing is that they represent very well my daily dilemma working with Designer: Should we always go as far as the software allow us? What I mean is this: the 2015 version is, in my opinion, better as a logo than the most recent ones. What do I see in the 2018 version? That I had A LOT of fun with Designer that day. Have a great day!

Year: 2018 Designer: Andrew Salfinger: https://www.andrewsalfinger.com To start off 2018 one of the first projects of the year I go to work on was the re-branding of DJ Watt’s twitch page and overlay. This was a really fun project to work on with playing around with different effects and styles. Along with it’s felt like its been forever sine I have been able to work on a complete twitch packaging. I designed for DJ Watt the following: Logo Logo (Motion Graphic) Banner Icon Twitch Panels Offline Screen Starting Soon (Motion Graphic) BRB (Motion Graphic) Below you can see each element of the project: Video showcasing what I designed for DJ Watt. 14. Can some one tell me why my signature, Logo shows up when I add a pixel layer to a photo and try to use the paint brush it places my logo throughout the photo. I know I must have done something and saved it that way ?? but if there is a way to just get rid of it please let me know
  15. I'm new to the pratical side of design - having previously worked in positions where I've paid people for graphic design, I now want to be able to do it myself, to a degree. I remember seeing designers use the colour wheel (I think) on Photoshop to find colours which complement the colours in a logo and I'm wondering if Affinity Designer has a similar tool. For example, I have a two colour logo. Can I input the colour refs for these into Designer and have it suggest a palette which will work nicely with them? Thank you in advance.

  17. Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum and I just wanted to say how much I enjoy using the affinity designer software. To show my "affinity" to the software, I would like to share a tutorial video that I made turning my hand sketch into a vector drawing :D: https://youtu.be/UDVuI0BPFgo Hope you guys like it and let me know what you think. Thanks, Mike
  18. Hi, Can anybody suggest how to go about creating The Flash logo (especially the lightning bolt) like in this images https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=The+Flash+Logo&FORM=IRIBQP. I'm a beginner and just starting to learn basic workflows in Affinity Designer. Thanks
  19. I am trying to design a logo to send to a stock library (Dreamstime) who want jpg but also eps if available. I don't understand (sorry if I'm being a bit thick) the different eps presets - export, print, web, flatten. I have searched every tutorial and video I can find with no luck, so it must just be me :-) Can somebody please explain the differences, particularly between export and print presets for eps and jpeg. Thanks in anticipation
  20. Hi I’m putting tutorials together on Skillshare about designing with grids, and I use Affinity Designer as my vector drawing tool of choice. Some teachers feature the software they use, e.g., Ai in the title and/or cover image for the class. What is Serif’s views on the use of the name ‘Affinity Designer’ and logo in third party tutorials, and are there any usage/style guide requirements? Chris
  21. Work in progress... lights are kinda random right now.
  22. I want to create a logo similar to the one I have attached below. I am having a hard time figuring out how to make the text at the bottom of the circle not be upside down. I don't want the circle to have text all around. I want the bottom portion to kind of "hang" from the path so it can all be read right side up. A Any tips or tutorials you could point me to?
  23. Hey guys how you doing today? It's a bright shinny day today but yesterday was a cold dark one. Rainy at moments in the morning so I took an hour with my son to draw and do arts. I'm a logo/jersey designer and he asked me a Cheetah themed jersey if he passes his grade. So I came up with a logo and now looking to design the jersey with the colors he gave to me. Here's the logo so far. I'll let you see the jersey design when its done and the jersey when its printed and sewed. Should be a month long process since we're doing a lot of overtime these days - no time for personal project - but should be fun! We are working with Adobe's products but at home I'm running both Adobe's and Affinity's and I prefer by far Affinity (unless the tools are existent yet). So this will be done within Affinity from the sketch to the final jersey. (Designer have been used for the Logo - Photo for the presentation). Thanks!
  24. Unable to perform the most simplest tasks on Serif Page Plus 9 Serif makes the complicated simple and the simple complicated. I need to merge a square image with the TXT/ LOGO I've created around it. It seems impossible to do this, and or crop that down to the exact size I need it to be There does not seem to be anyway to crop the image and text I've created out of a forced letter size publication the software has forced upon my design. Unable to export or save in any format other than PDF where the image and TXT are combined / flattened / merged in a single layer. PagePlus 9 does not seem to have any feature which allows for saving only the logo created with an imported image combined with txt designed on the software
