  1. Like in Photo Persona, remembering the brush setting for each tool individually is preferable.
  2. I'm a big fan of the liquify persona, one thing I would like is to have a rectangular or bar brush. When moving a far or body having a circular brush is not easy to operate on most things. It would work much better if a bar that can be rotated as needed was used to push the pixels rather than the round brush.
  3. Easy use of the turbulence tool. In this easy Affinity Photo tutorial, I use the turbulence tool to create a perm or Afro hairstyle. This Photo Manipulation is number 44 in my Powerful tools of Affinity series and is shown in desktop and iPad. https://youtu.be/mjngeQCl1cg #turbulence #liquify #livefilter #mask #photomanipulation #madeinaffinity #affinityphoto #affinityserif #tutorial #photomanipulation #graphicdesign #affinity #digitallyfearless #affinityguides
  4. I'm not sure if this issue has been previously addressed, but I am using the trial version of Affinity Photo to see if I should purchase it during y'all's Black Friday Sale. None of the other personas in Affinity Photo seem to be working. I see no visual changes to my image when entering the Liquify, Develop, or Tone Mapping Personas. Not really sure how this could be the case, but I'm not willing to buy the product during y'all's discounted sale if entire sections of the software are not working properly for me to test them. Also, if I purchase just Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher, will the Studio Link feature still work between those respective applications, or do I have to own all three in order for Studio Link to work? Thank you in advance for any clarity you can bring to the situation. All the best!

  6. Hi there, this may be less of a bug but a hardware problem but I want to mention it anyway. With Affinity Photo 1.9, exporting an image seems to be incredibly slow with liquify masks applied. The two devices I have and I have tried with are: iMac mid2011 21" quad 2,5GHz i5 16GB RAM with High Sierra 10.13.6 (yes, its incredibly old and I am working on replacing it. But its still my main device for now and it runs incredibly smooth with everything). MacBook Pro start2015 13" dual2,9GHz i5 8GB RAM with Catalina 10.15.7 (not really a workhorse but my little pal in the field). Exporting images without liquify masks is still fast as ever but as soon the smallest change with a liquify mask is applied the CPU runs on max for two or three minutes to export the image. Does someone else has experienced the same? Since its a very new feature I do somewhat hope that there is a more efficient way to implement that feature without requiring unusual more hardware specs.
  7. Hello.. I just noticed this problem with AP 1.9 for iPad (I haven't tried with Mac version yet). I applied liquify as a live filter, but it results in a massive loss of sharpness. No manipulation of the filter in these screenshots, I just applied it as an example.
  8. I was playing around with the Liquify Persona in Photo, trying to figure out what does what, and came up with a quite pleasant result (for an amateur anyway). Original photo on the left, my version on the right. Moving on from an earlier experiment (to de-freckle a photo) I tried a few things: * Opened/enlarged her eyes a bit and did a little recolouring; * Changed the shape of her nose slightly (thinner and upturned); * Change the shape of her jawline slightly (a bit more rounded); * Opened her mouth a bit more. Are there any places where I have done something wrong, or could have done it better? (I think I’ve gone too far with the eyes.) Does anyone have any tips for this sort of thing?
  9. Transparent glass in minutes. Digitally Fearless Affinity Photo beginner video tutorial on how easy it is to use blend options (blend-if) to make transparent glass. This tutorial also uses curves and liquify. https://youtu.be/PI4pz5RqrWQ
  10. Hi all, Is there a way to hide temporary the Liquify Freeze Tool mask? Just like the Hide mesh checkbox. Cheers, Juan
  11. I've been trying to use the Liquify Persona for some editing, and finding that it's... not great. It seems to only work on the original image, and not at all with images that I've done some color balancing to. That seems broken -- shouldn't I be able to go back to the original pixel layer and use Liquify on that? On one image I used patch to clean up some blemishes, and then merged the patch layer and the original, then tried Liquify... it wouldn't affect the image in any way. I can see the mesh deformation, but the image remains unaffected. Is it really a one-shot deal? Once you apply, it's baked into the image? That makes for a pretty dreadful workflow.
  12. Affinity Photo tutorial on how to add a pattern to clothing. It demonstrates how to resize a pattern and show the folds of a pattern.
  13. Hi, Now I'll admit to being new to AP, coming from PS. But when I go to Liquify Persona, select the tool I want to use, nothing happens. Mac Pro Mid-2012 OS 10.12.6 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB Anyone else having this problem? I looked at the video tutorial for help and I'm selecting the correct layer. Thanks! UPDATE: Ok, now it's working! But when I use the freeze tool, it still grabs the area that I don't want to adjust. Is there a fix for this? I attached an image to show what I mean. Thanks again!
  14. Apart from the backdrop (virtually gone) this image was created with photographs of water. With help from the liquify persona and blend modes I was able to realise this particular visual experiment.
  15. Hello Team ! Hello Everyone ! Glad to make this suggestion for the good of Affinity and Designers or just Users who joined the move and those considering to join the move. My point is about not killing things that we already love but making them even better and i hope this won't become a troll. To my sight, the celebrissime Liquify Persona need to be reviewed and improved, boosted or upgraded (take it as you want). Actually, a persona is not just something we click at but it is an identity to a type of Designer/ Creative Person/People and it is time to make it reflect those of us who identify their style through that Persona. ___________________________________________ Having a Persona to only twirl, Freeze, push etc ... some couple of Pixel is good but ... there is more to it. I suggest the Liquify Persona to be upgraded and maybe renamed to fit with the real style it is supposed to reflect: Photo Manipulation or Photo Composition (here too call like you want). I suggest more tools to be put in there that will help make the Photo Composition/Manipulation happen from that precise place with dedicated tools and even it can be the opportunity to develop new tools that fit the Manipulation/Composition Style. i'm not asking for tool to be removed from the Pixel Persona, not at all but asking for the Pixel/Photo Persona to be less loaded from its first approach for sure a user could decide to customize his toolbox like we currently are allowed to do but if that user is a Photo Manipulator/Compositor then he should load everything he want (photos) using the Pixel/Photo Persona then switch to the dedicated Manipulation/Composition Persona and do his work from that place. The workflow could be like this: 1- Load an image (or many images) on the Pixel Persona then select the object we want to work with 2- click the Manipulation/Composition Persona then be presented with necessary tools for that precise job, from Selection brush, Flood Selection, to inPainting not forgetting all liquify tools but all those should now be in more advanced mode giving more flexibility and settings to fine tune the work. 3- Do the job and when done click on Apply to switch back to the Pixel/Photo Persona which is the central place and see the result. Then do the same again and again with all other layers who need to be transformed or manipulated 4- the upgrade should give the user the opportunity through a button (like the After/Before) to view full stack of layer in low opacity mode which can be increased or decreased (but the user should only be allowed to work on one layer at a time. 5- All Color Grading work can happen in the Develop Persona or in the Pixel/Photo Persona (here for those who need to control) 6- The Tone Mapping Persona wold be helpful for fine tuning the thing with rich presets, LUT or Manual stuffs. Well all this must be given the possibility to be non destructive, meaning i must be able to select a layer in my stack anytime, at any level of progress and switch back to the Manipulation Persona and redo this or fine tune more that etc... More focus in the Non Destructive aspect will actually increase the value of the software. I know the move you are taking with making Designer and Photo to be kind of sub or Persona for Publisher but still Photo should be improved on its own because Photo compositor/Manipulators won't buy Publisher just because it is not what they do but a more enriched Photo software ... Well Yes many would go for it no complex to what already exist. This topic is open to more adds that can help Devs to figure this out. Even if they don't implement it with 1.7 Beta cycle, it is something they may take serious and consider to fine tune and implement in coming version and we can help here. I'm only 1 Brain, yours are needed for more power, Step out of the Purist areas and come help build great with you original ideas. Hope i've posted in the right place and wish you all the best with improving Affinity. Blessings.
  16. Hi, I attached a link to a YouTube link that demonstrates how the liquify push tool starts to tear the image and distort in the wrong place. In the video I’ve shown how using the AP push tool in one area doesn’t have the desired effect. Then how Procreates liquify push tool response as it should by smoothly pushing the pixels not swirling them after a number of strokes. I made the spacing in the mesh smaller to allow it to be more accurate. I’ve tried this with the larger spacing as well and it made no difference. Leaving the liquify push tool as it is only adds limitations to a workflow. Please consider fixing this.
  17. Hi! It seems like liquify tools have delay. For example if you want to push forward sligtly using short strokes (especially with Apple Pencil) the distortion won’t be applied at all. You need either put the pencil and wait for a couple of seconds or make a longer stroke and then adjust back to the desired level of distortion. It feels very weird and confusing and makes liquify tools hard to use.
  18. Hello i'm maybe wrong here but i have not seen any revolutionary improvement with the tools in the liquify persona. i mean, when using the twirl it is still so slow from the time you press till you see the real result, maybe i'm the one doing it wrong or using the wrong settings. I did push the speed to max and changed from to all sub methods but still from the time i press twirl till i really see the final thing ........ see ! the other push stuffs are much better a bit faster, so i believe the tools in Liquify persona need to be refined and adjusted to allow much fluid work. Please feel free to teach me if you think i'm wrong and direct me to any content that may find useful or helpful for my understand ! Blessings.
  19. Good morning from the Bay Area. Of all the modes Ap offers Pixel mode is the one that I have yet to conquer. Maybe I missed it , but I didn't see many tutorials offered on the official site. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, I am curious to see/hear how you implement this mode into your workflow. And if you had some of the same issues I am having, how did you learn to use this mode, and what do you find you use it for the most? Thank you for your time and guidance, it really is appreciated.
  20. I need to hide the pointer (central cross with big 1024px tool-size circle round it) while applying the liquify turbulence tool in Affinity photo. I'd like to be able to drag the tool down the screen from top to bottom, filming as it causes its effect, without seeing the tool pointer/cursor. I know pressing space bar turns it into a much smaller hand, but that's still no good and acts as a view tool, pulling the artwork down too. I suspect it can't be done, but will be very happy if someone here can prove me wrong.
  21. Cómo podemos hacer el efecto de licuar en Affinity? How can we effect the liquefying in Affinity? thanks
  22. Hi, I would like to ask if there is an easy way to alternate between the Freeze and Thaw tools on the liquify persona. If there isn't, I would like to suggest the use of the "ALT" key for that purpose. Also I noticed that on the Liquify Persona's tool bar, there are the primary and secondary color pickers, and I wonder, what is the purpose of that? thanks and keep up with the terrific work! Gustavo
  23. If I'm working with multiple objects that I want t liquify, I hate having to apply, select another layer, and go back into liquify persona. It would be much easier if Liquify Persona had an option to toggle between layers. This might be on the roadmap, might not, but the persona definitely needs the layer option to increase workflow efficiency
  24. I noticed that the Liquify tools work excellent when I use mouse on my Mac. However when I try to use my older Wacom Intuos 3 tablet I get BAD BAD BAD delay and it appears it doesn't work because of this. Because its an older model?
  25. Hi Affinity team, I am testing Affinity photo (German language) and have tried the twirl tool in liquify persona. I can twirl clockwise, but not anti clockwise with the "alt key". Normally you can see in the left bottom, which options the tool has. In twirl there are no other options (see attached screenshot). But I have seen in tutorials, that you can twirl anticlockwise. Has it something to do with my test version? I am using the Mac version 1.4.2. Thanks in advance. Chui
