  1. When working on design presentations, I find it helpful to link in files, so that I can edit them and have the edits reflect in my presentation. This also allows me to keep the file-size manageable for large A0 and up posters. In Indesign, it is possible to change which layers are visible from linked Photoshop or Illustrator files. Thanks to this, I don't need to export five individual files that I need to manage separately. Each update to one file, means I have to relink multiple others (if I am not planning to overwrite them). So could we get the ability to change visibility states of linked Affinity files without having to edit the source file? A source file I have is 23 MB, whereas each of the exports is 10 MB as high quality JPEG (which is half the size of a compressed tiff). So this also helps reduce disk space.
  2. Hi, I am using Publisher to make a presentation and one of the files I link into the presentation was made in Affinity Photo. I know from Indesign that I could adjust the layers for linked files, is this also possible with Publisher and linked Photo files?
  3. Hey fellow affinitiers(if that is a word), This is my first post so I hope it is put in the right place. I am not a new user to Affinity products, however, recently I came across a problem I cannot solve. I created my designer portfolio using Affinity Publisher. The way how I input my images or files into this publisher document - I link my files from my boards or images files that are made using Affinity Designer or Photo. The problem I got is I really want to compress my file while exporting it(my PDF needs to be about 10 MB). However, when I am exporting it, the text which was created directly in Affinity Publisher using Frame Tool Text - is displaying ok, while the text which was done with the same Frame Tool Text, but in a linked file in Affinity Designer is very blurry(I attached image 1 and image 2 to show what i am talking about). I am running out of options how to cope with that - tried playing with DPI or image quality etc. but nothing worked. If anybody had the same problem and is able to help I would be very pleased! Thank you very much :)
  4. Hi, The linked resources are a great feature in Affinity, but there is any way how I can use that linked resource as a mask for another layer/group? Or link that B&W image in my file (somewhere), and then link(as layer linking) its luminosity to another layer - as a mask or something? I am just trying to move my render composition workflow to Affinity, and linked resources are great, but I have rendered alpha masks and z-depth channels. And would be nice to have them linked and working. Thanks in advance of any suggestion, cheers!
  5. Hi, I found bug. I'm putting PDF in Publisher doc, and I have option to choose page which should be showed there. I'm closing Publisher file and then updating PDF file After opening Publisher file again, I can't choose page of PDF to be showed, all I can do is replace PDF So, I though maybe updating file in Resource Manager will help, but after this linked PDF is updated, but in all places where I put PDF I have 1st page I'm attaching video what is wrong (I'm saying about embedded file but I meant linked one). 6. New problem in the latest build 1.7.0.283, OS X 10.13.6. If you make a change to an external picture that is already linked in the document, it sometimes (not always) will garner an invalid file type as APUB notifies you that a change was made to the external file. However, the change is actually made in the document. See attached screen shots.
