  1. hey all! I have a quite urgent question: Today I opened mit afpub file and was surprised that all the linked documents that I have edited many times in publisher are suddenly being overwritten with the original linked documents (all editing gone). This happens a few seconds after opening the file. So in the first seconds you can still see all the edited documents but they are being replaced with the "old" version soon. Is there any way I can stop the replacing with the original documents and keep mit edited ones? 🥺 I still have hope because during the first seconds the edited documents are still visible. but I don't know how to keep them... This has never opened before. I have worked several days on that file and this has never happened before but I have a deadline today... THANK YOU IMG_5840.MOV
  2. messed a bit with the "add pages from file" and File->Place and choosing publisher document. Well its half-working for me. use-case: have many manuals, with same parts. i need to update part, then re-export all the manuals without re-touching each one. now i have two possibilities - add pages, where i loose connection, or place the document, multiple times. That could work, if there is possibility to: - place single pages even when in spread layout (double pages are nonsense, as i dont know if first page will be left or right when placing the document) - if it would be possible to place with bleeds And what would also help is possibility to add multiple pages at once.. Its very annoying to place lets say 40 pages killer feature would be insert into document "as is" just as another section with automatic removing/adding pages on change
  3. I made a graphic in afDesigner and then placed it on a afPublisher page as linked. When I double-click to edit it the changes I make are immediately synced and displayed in the Pub-document. Cool! There is no save, I can only close the edit-window. So far-so good. But, the changes are not saved back to the linked file. It's more like it is an embedded copy of the original graphic I created. But most of the time, I want to write the changes back to the original file, like I had done the modification directly in Designer, so it updates in all documents in which this graphic is placed/linked. plus: I don't know why the colours do not match in the preview - like it's RGB and not cmyk?
  4. With both Publisher and Photo open, I edit and save a linked photo in Photo, but it does not update automatically in Publisher. "Automatically update linked resources when modified externally" is checked in Preferences>General. It has been checked the entire time I have been working on the document. The feature has worked in the past. Going to Document>Resource Manager, highlighting the linked photo and clicking the "Update" button works fine. The photo is linked twice to the document (different views), both are in picture frames. Publisher 1.7.0.249 Photo 1.6.5.123 Thanks, Keith
