Preserve link of cross references when cut-pasted

I often have to rearrange my cross references when I use a system like in the vid below this to place my sources alongside my text. For this, sidenotes prove to be insufficient for my needs, see: However, when I cut the target text and paste it somewhere else (which still includes the anchor, mind you) the reference is lost. 2024-01-29 12-15-19.mp4 Please add the functionality to preserve the reference link after a cut-paste operation. -
Am i correct that there are no icons in the toolbar for switching to Photo/Designer/Publisher in Photo and Designer (V2 versions)? Only Publisher has icons in toolbar. I know there are for example "Edit in Photo..." or "Edit in Designer..." options in the file menu. These icons are not available in custom toolbar options. I already deleted V1 versions, but i really thought there were icons on toolbar in all three apps? -
Would be nice if you could add a way to select linked text frames at once, even if they are on a different pages.

Suppose I have 2 documents: document1 and document2: I place document1 into document2. As I place it, may I choose to link document1 into document2 instead of embed it (which occurs by default)? If so, may I edit document1 independent of document2 so that the changes may be observed in document2 in real time? (The same way they would if I were editing changes to an embedded copy of document1, but instead so that the changes are actually occurring to the real document1.) If so, I should be able to use document1 as a or multi-document or application level symbol from which I can link it into other documents so that if I make a change to document1, all documents containing it as a linked object will reflect the change (in real time as well). Is this currently possible? -
Hello, I'm sure this must be possible but I cannot find it: How can I add a link (in particular a http(s):// url and a mailto: link) to a text? So that clicking on the text in the exported PDF opens the web browser / e-mail client (or does whatever else is configured for the PDF viewer for such links). Thanks -

Hi Folks Absolutely loving Publisher. However ... ... I'm trying to insert a link to a phone number as a URL in a pdf. For the link to work the format should be something like "tel:+44123456789". The only available (and appropriate) option in Publisher to create this link is URL. However if you put "tel:+44123456789" as the URL then the exported pdf contains the link "https://tel:+44123456789", which is invalid. I believe either 1) the output URL should be formatted correctly or 2) a URL of the format "tel:+44123456789" should flag as invalid at the time of input (if the URL box is not intended to hold a phone number). Hi I use designer to create svg. Then I use this svg with sozi (https://sozi.baierouge.fr) in order to create a zooming presentation (prezi-like). Sozi was a plugin of inkscape but is now a standalone. I have to insert html link to improve my presentation. So I discover that it is not possible to insert html link in designer. I use Macsvg to manually insert a link (which is a mess) and I would love to make it directly in designer. Is it possible to have this feature in the next releases ? Thank you for your work Cyril -
Feature Request 1: Consider allowing all applications in the Affinity Suit to link documents like Affinity Publisher. Feature Request 2: If/when linking across all Affinity Applications is possible, consider allowing the user to select not only select a specific art board or the entire document but also any layer at any level in the layers hierarchy of a linked or embedded document. Feature Request 3: Similar to linking, consider allowing for application-level symbols. Currently, symbols only exist at the document level. Such a feature achieves the same ends in feature requests 1 and 2 on the same computer. — For example, if a company creates a logo that is to be up to date in any subsequent work such as app and website UI mockups in Affinity Designer, print-like publications in Affinity Publisher, and photos in the editing stage in Affinity Photo, it would be great if feature request 3 is implemented to allow for an application-level symbol to hold that logo so that any changes to it synchronize across all other Affinity documents containing this application-level symbol. Extending the example to feature requests 1 and 2, if the company hosts the file on a server from which their designers’ computers can access it, they could simply link to it instead of embed it so that changes to the master logo file occur in real time to all Affinity documents that link to it.

Hello, I am working on a JavaScript Manuel reference. I created the table of content in Affinity Publisher and the headings get updated automatically. However, when I export it to PDF, I cannot click on the table of content headings to get me to the spesific area of the page. I also tried to add interactivity to it. But I don't know how ? Hi, We have just installed Publisher on our Mac. But Studio Link is sadly not working. I tried all the "fixes" i found in this forum allready, but it still doesn't work. I tried to close and reopen all 3 programms in many different orders. I reinstalled all of them i updated to the latest 1.7.1 Versions off all of the Apps I Checked the firewall options … Is there like a config file on mac, where you can specify the path of Photo and Designer? Hello, I have a pretty annoying problem with StudioLink... So I have the three Affinity apps on Windows (no Beta version, I bought all of these), but when I go into Publisher then I click on the Designer Persona button in the top left corner, it displays that: I can't switch into the Designer Persona, just as if it wasn't on my PC... Note: My apps are up-to-date and I've already launched them at least once. They're in the default installation folder which is defined during their setup. Do you have any clue? Thank you! -
Hi guys! I hope everyone has a wonderful day) I needed to embed several external files into my Designer project. It should be attached to the project, but I should be able to edit the files independently of Designer. In other words, it is reflected in the Designer project. Abstract example: I have several * .afdesign files with logos And there are also several * .afdesign projects that use these logos. I need a mechanic in which I can embed logo in all projects, then edit or simply replace the file with the logo in Finder, and returning to Designer projects to find out that the logo in it is also wonderfully updated (even if it requires restarting the program) Tell me please, is there such an opportunity? If not, is it planned in the foreseeable future? -
In many posts, I see frame comprising a link to another post in these forums. There is a link arrow in the top right corner. How do I create such a link? For example, if I wanted to link to this post: I seem to have answered my own question. I just inserted the url and it got automatically embedded. However I'm sure there are many users who would like to know this. John -
APUB 1.7.0.270, OS X 10.13.65 A couple of releases ago, the auto update for external links was working. If you changed a picture file, for example, APUB would automatically recognize the change and immediately update the target in the document. Now, it doesn't happen. I think that the Resource Manager will still show that a link needs to be updated, but the auto update and notification message no longer show up and the object does not get updated until you take further action (save and open the document or use the Resource Manager). Was this feature removed or is it a regression? -
Hello, shouldn't the master page apply any changes to the rest of the document that I have previously applied it? I have this document with 50 pages and applied the master on them on creation, but after I changed the master page I had to go and left click on a random page-> apply master to all Isn't linked the whole time? Sound like a pain if you have a multi masters document if you have to go find each one of the pages the master is applied to change it. -
Really impressed with Publisher Beta 1.7.0.227 handling of master pages though, never having used InDesign, I don't know if Publisher is now as functional or better than ID. I watched the introductory video but don't know if this video (https://affinityspotlight.com/article/affinity-publisher-public-beta-vs-170227-now-available-on-auto-update/?utm_source=SpotlightEmail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Newsletter) was made on Mac or something other than Windows which I am using. At about 6 minutes and 50 seconds into the narrator says you can select the Master page on the Layers tab and when he does that a context toolbar opens Top left where he can select Edit Detached Linked. (Sorry for poor quality of this picture) I can only achieve something similar by RIGHT clicking on the Master page on the layers tab and then selecting from the menu which then opens If I then click on Edit Detached, my screen then includes the orange text box saying ("Editing Master 'A' Detached Apart from that, everything works exactly as the video describes and, as I said earlier, I'm impressed with how Serif have included this in response to people's requests Pman .

I am looking for a way to "link" an object(s) rather than copying and pasting, or "placing" in such a way that a change to the original object is reflected wherever it has been used. For example, see the screenshot (I am using artboards here, but just for this example). I would like to a change to the objects in the "logo" artboard to be reflected in the "letterhead" and "envelope" artboards, for example changing the text from "A Logo" to "My Logo". Is there some approach that would allow this? Doesn't have to be between artboards... logo could be a separate document, etc. Thanks... I love using Affinity Designer, and use it for all my vector based work now.

Hi, You know you can link pictures to a picture frame, so that if the picture is updated then it's updated in the Publisher file too. It would be really cool if you could do something similar with text in word documents and Google Docs. That way a group of people could update the text and the changes would automatically appear in the Publisher file. Just a thought BillyB

My suggestion to (easier) embed or link resources: In Addition to the resource manager: Add a checkbox "embedded" to the context strip. if the checkbox is checked - the resource is embedded, otherwise the resource is linked. Optionally add a checkable menuitem to the contextmenu of the resource:

I have a website smart text link in my exported pdf file and it displays properly on my computer but the end user only sees a blue underline and the link is active, but no display text. -

I just went to replace an image on an AD document and noticed this new option for Embed/Link. I haven't seen this mentioned on any changelogs - have you accidentally pushed out the feature too early? I also noticed images I tried to rename on my computer were throwing up an error because the file was 'already open in Affinity Designer', so it seems to be working.

I use a tool to have a visual feedback of our footage and have optimised it to be able to right click open it in affinity. also i use it to drag and drop footage to the canvas or to oopen it as a seperated object.. We could need the option to drag it over an existing layer to replace it ! would be handy.. maybe togethe with a shortcut to replace it and in the same time use the new one as a linked Object (when this feature will arrive for affinity ) When dragging en external file to the canvas i would like a shortcut option to first popup an option window , where to drop it .. left , right, in the middle, wich scale or so... heres a short screenshot what i mean...
