  1. Hi folks, I have just discovered that, when developing RAW in Affinity Photo—under the Lens tab and under Lens Correction—the Lens Profile dropbox selector no longer works. It doesn't drop down and say Empty nor show all the lens profiles I'm used to seeing, rather it simply blinks quickly and does nothing. As such, I cannot see any lens profiles at all. I read about going to LensFun myself on github and downloading the XML files from there into ~/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinityphoto/Data/Library/Application Support/LensProfiles/; I tried that and restarted Affinity Photo and still I see zero Lens Profiles. I also read that this may have to do with Apple Silicon rendering RAW files. I am using Affinity Photo 1.10.8 on MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1 (23E224). I have tried with hardware acceleration on (Apple M3 Pro Metal) and off (software). The last time I used Lens Profiles was likely before I upgraded to 1.10.8 (but after 1.10.x) and before I moved away from my old Intel Macbook Air (which was November). Thanks!
  2. Hey guys I was looking for a lens correction for my Sony E 16-55 f2.8 G and couldn't find it, is one on the way? Also missing the Sony E 70-350 f/4.5-6.3 G OSS too? Many thanks.
  3. I opened a raw NEF photo taken with a Nikon Z7 with 24-70mm f4 lens in AF 1.8.3.641. The camera and lens was displayed accurately. The profile, however, was not implemented correctly. The image was distorted. I opened the same photo in Photoshop and the distortion was absent. Clearly AF does not correct the image properly. I've attached a file that shows a grid photographed and opened in Affinity photo and photoshop that illustrates the difference. 2020.06.22.calibrationGrid.1144.psd
  4. In Affinity Photo 1.8 a new feature was introduced enabeling the user to select lens profiles from a dropdown list in develop persona. Underlying dialog is split into four tabs "all", "recent", "favourite", "detected". From preferences dialog you can add custom lens profiles into a folder on the harddrive (Default C:\ProgramData\Affinity\Photo\1.0\LensProfiles). These custom profiles are not loaded into the "all" tab during the program start. So you won't be ablte to load custom lens profiles by manual selection. For these custom lens profiles the program behaviour is the same as in previous versions of Affinity Photo. All lens profiles (pre compiled and custom) shall be loaded into the all tab of lens correction dialog.
  5. Hey, I'm hoping someone can help me. I've added the Canon Mirrorless lens profile from lensfun, but even with this installed AP still says unsupported when I try to develop the raw files. Thanks in advance! I've attached the xml file so you can see what I've used, plus a screenshot of the EXIF data which is all correct. Lens profile underneath still "unsupported". mil-canon.xml
  6. Hi, Am using AP Beta 1.8.0.486 & found James' great video on adding in lens profiles. I followed it to add in my Sigma 18-300mm lens which was included in the profile. However, when opening a RAW file, there is no lens profile. Here's a screenshot showing the inclusion of the profile file, the lens itself & lens profile distortion box revealing none. Any ideas as to what I need to do? Thanks so much, Julie.
  7. I'm having trouble getting Affinity to apply the correct lens distortion profile in develop persona. I'm shooting on a Canon EOS 550D with a Tamron 18-200mm F3.5/6.3 DiII VC B018 (as recognised in the EXIF within Affinity). However, when I open the image, it keeps applying the Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8 profile to the images. I've downloaded as the additional lens profiles for Tamron lens and installed them into the correct folder via the preferences, and confirmed the relevant .xml file contains a profile for Tamron "AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC". However, I keep getting the wrong lens profile applied. Is there a way to manually select a different lens profile in develop persona, or what should I be doing to ensure that Affinity selects the right profile? Thanks in advance.
  8. When importing DNG RAW files from a DJI Mavic Drone, Affinity does not recognize the built- in lens profile for lens correction. The profile is there, Lightroom and other programs recognize and use it to correct distortion. The drone is the very well known Mavic 2, the profile name is DJI FC2204
  9. I added the GitHub.com/lensfun/lensfun's xml files for Sony (mil-sony.xml) into the preferences directory of Affinity Photo. But when I import my Sony raw files, it seems to not recognise the lens profile under lens corrections. I verified raw files' EXIF info - Sony ILCE-7M3 and lens 70-200mm f/2.8. Then I checked the XML file and found that only 70-200mm f/4 was found and the f/2.8 one wasn't found in the contents. How can I generate the values for 70-200mm f/2.8 lens?
  10. I read the following topic. I use the Mac version, but Affinity Photo uses the lens profile included with macOS. I'm using Panasonic DMC-GX7 and included in the lens profile list. When I look at the lens tab in Photo (RAW), it is displayed as a non-compatible lens. The same is true when I open a file taken with a Sony camera or Tamron lens. I think that the profile is applied but I am worried because I think distortion etc. are corrected when I look at the image. Is this normal behavior? Is it an error? --- Affinity Photo 1.7(stable), macOS 10.14.5
  11. Hello, does anybody know, if there is a possibility, to use Adobe Lens Correction Profiles (*.lcp) in Affinity Photo? I use an UAV (DJI Phantom 2 Vision+) for taking pictures. Because it has a fish-eye lense, i have to correct them, before i can use them (for taking measurements). Therefore, DJI has released an Adobe Lens Correction Profiles (PHANTOM VISION FC200.lcp). In Photoshop, i can open Filter / Lens correction and choose this file, to eliminate distortion from the pictures. Is there a possibility to do it in AP, too? Maybe with an Plugin? P.S.: See the pictures below. They show the original picture (before) and the corrected picture (after). It is very important for me, that the exact values from the Lens Correction Profile are used, because afterwards, i have to take measurements in the pictures.
