Basically what i'm trying to do it color in any image for an online class project but what I found really wasn't working so I don't know if someone could make a tutorial on this with affinity photo if you have the time or explain how in the best was possible so I can "understand" (learning style wise) since i'm still trying to learn more about affinity or if you know a better method or anything would just as helpful. Hi everyone, I am completley new to affinity and purchased both affinity photo and affinity design. I would really like to learn how to make flyers for clubs and events but am clueless as to what to do. I would really appreciate it if someone would be willing to teach me how to use either software to get this done. Thank you so much! -
Have you guys thought of approaching schools and offering your software either free or reduced cost? In the early day I think most of us would have to own up to 'acquiring' a copy of Adobes offering to learn the skills that would be otherwise impossible, because lets be honest what kid can afford a £1000 design suit? My son is in his last year of school and is completing a GCSE in graphic design, I was shocked to find out that the school did not teach any correct form of Adobe software only paint shop pro and an old copy of fireworks. If kids where to learn this off the bat, and leave school loving the software and equally it did not cripple the school to provide it as a learning tool. I think it would provide you a solid foundation of loyal users wanting to move forward and use this in the professional world. -

I made some channel mixer adjustments for AD and AP which I'd like to share with you. You can add them to your AP though opening the document, selecting each group, selecting the "channel mixer" adj, so that it's panel opens up, click "add preset". (I've made a feature request to make that easier) You can then access them by the "view > studio > adjustments" panel which is active by default (only available in AP) These are a bit "Instagram like" so please don't overdo it, blend modes, opacity and blend ranges can, and should be adjusted upon your needs for more information about such techniques you can have a look over here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/37125-ap-ad-beginner-amateur-pro/ cheers channel mix.afdesign PS: similar presets vor curves are available here PS: similar presets for "LUT" adj. are available here

Hello. I have been using Illustrator regularly since CS2 (~10 years), and I recently purchased Affinity Designer. I'm interested in a dictionary of Illustrator features and workflows done in Designer. I'm willing to pay $$$ for it too. For example: Illustrator anchor point: Designer it is called an X Illustrator outline mode: Designer go to X menu and click Y Illustrator direct selection tool: Designer combination of X tool and Y tool. If you need to select and move one Z Illustrator reflect tool: Designer not a tool, but reflection function, etc... Unreal Engine has some pretty good Unity to Unreal transition resources (I won't link to them since this is my first post). Does such a resource exist for Affinity Designer? -

Hi, I have bought Affinity Photo last night after 2 days of searching on the net. I have been using Lightroom for 1 year, as hobby and semi-pro works. I really enjoy it but i feel that I should move forward and Lightroom is just a quick package edit tool limits you in some ways. I have never used Adobe PS, and I have to learn everything here with Affinity Photo. What would you offer me for the start for fast learning? Should I start to watch all of Affinity Tutorial videos with taking notes and ailing them on my photos? or would it be good to watch Adobe PS tutorials too, as it has more source to watch and read and not that different from Affinity Photo? Inline Help. Touch something to see what it does, its nomenclature and then read about the intentions and ambitions of the developers. One thing that makes software somewhat understandable is a naming convention for all that it does. But it’s only understandable once the foundations of how to think about how the designers and developers responsible for an app thought about what they were making. Which is the inverse of helpful. Once you master something you know it. Already. But getting to know something as complex as an alternative drawing program is a bit of a hill climb. Not because it’s a mountain, it’s not. It just takes time that most people simply don’t have. Recreational hill climbing simply isn’t on most people’s lists, so they hop back on the Adobe treadmill they know, despite realisation that it’s not going to get them anywhere near as fast as actually learning to walk up a hill. So the path to success for Affinity Designer is making the interface, operability, features, functions and paradigms of AD as intuitive and innate (and memorable) as soon is possible for any new user. That’s probably best done with one of those “?” buttons that activates a special mode whereby the user can click on anything and learn more about it. BUT… not in the limited manner these things have been done before, please, if you consider this, add some of these things: A lexicon/nomenclature descriptive passage of what and how this thing that’s been clicked on came to be named, and make this a link, so the user can then click on these words and goto more content specifically about these things as seen through the eyes of the AD creators. A quick “how to” and “WHY” and WHAT FOR!!! passage about this thing, whatever it is. Links to any further information about this thing that might be of use. Videos, tutorials, help files, related features, etc All in little categories, so that they know what they’re going to be clicking on. SUPER IDEAL: program a little animated demo of the thing doing its magic. I know. I’m asking a lot. But some thought has to go into how to make AD have affinity with the designers of the world, en masse. It has the guts to do it, it’s just a matter of putting on a good face, now.
