  1. I would like you to make exporting Outline FX as a separate element possible. Some FX can be exported as a separate element such as Outer Glow or Outer Shadow. Outline can be done the same I think. So the object itself that has Outline FX won't be rasterized and it could be more useful.
  2. Hello! I love using your suite of apps, but I have a suggestion to make working in Layer FX a little easier. Since color overlay, just has "one" function, please add the color selector wheel visible inline as a part of the controls. It's not very effecient to have to click it every time. You go to this FX to do just one thing... change the color. Also please consider adding "tab" keyboard support to toggle between controls. Similar improvements can also be done to other Layer FX to avoid uncessasary extra mouse milage and clicking. Thank you for considering these ideas!
  3. Fans Need To Respect K-Pop Idols Privacy.ytn.afphotoHere is the source file. Hello, I'm Michelle. I'm having issues with Affinity Photo. So I'm having issues with Layer Effects. When I click; on Layer Effects(FX) panel and click on one of the effects, for example, 'Outline' and change the settings like 'Radius.' Blocks would show up around a cutout image of me. The same goes for the other Layer Effects as well. I have attached a screenshot; so you know what I mean.
  4. I ran into an issue where, if you duplicate symbols after applying an effect from another layer/ symbol/ group, the symbol is no longer duplicated as a symbol. Instead, it becomes a group. The bug is displayed towards the end, in the screencast, I also show that this wouldn't happen otherwise and that it is caused by the layer effect, not by the disabled symbol syncing. The bug part starts at 1:10. 2023-01-12 12-55-34.mp4 Steps to reproduce 1. Create a symbol 2. Duplicate the symbol 3. Disable syncing symbols 4. Add an effect to either a copy of the symbol or to an altogether different object 5. Drag the effect from to another copy of the symbol 6. Duplicate the symbol (from step 5) in the layers panel 7. Notice how the copy of the symbol becomes a group Also note that at 1:10 in the video, you'll see me dragging an effect of the symbol to the other symbol. Designer for some reason sometimes won't accept this. That's another bug, which since the two are related, I also report it in the same bug report. Workflow in which this occurs I have outlines applied to my symbols and to align them over other objects, I sometimes turn off the effect. It is then easier to re-enable the effect by dragging it from another symbol. I also tend to copy symbols if they are rotated, so I can preserve their rotation.
  5. Hi, I was working on someting simple when the updates came through today and after applying the update and opening the same files I was working on in AD again I noticed straight away a performance issue I had not seen before. The update felt a lot worse than my experience with AD since the start. I've attached a screen recording which show the difference clearly. I have two identical groups, the have a layer [same in each group] with fx applied to it. When the layer with the fx is turned off, the performance is fine, dragging the group around is smooth enough. When I do turn on the layer with the fx the performance is basically non-workable for me. You'll notice it in the video. The fx layer isn't antyhing heavy, just a bevel as a test, I've attached a screenshot of the fx. I've also attached the actual file if anyone would like to try. Also attached a screenshot of the peformance settings in the app preferences. System info: System Version: macOS 10.13.6 (17G5019) Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro13,3 Processor Name: Intel Core i7 Processor Speed: 2.7 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 8 MB Memory: 16 GB I have a Wacom Cintiq 21UX and an old 27" iMac attached as extra screens unplugging them doesn't make a difference. 6. Under Preferences -> Performance, there's an option to dither gradients, however I noticed that it only applies to gradients made with the gradient tool, and not with gradients you apply in Layer FX. Not sure if this is a bug or just something that has been overlooked.
  7. With Affinity Designer, I'm making a visual health cue of a bipedal figure, separating the torso, arms, and legs so that each section can independently show a health status with a color. This means several copies of each section's image layer with a different color (green means 100%, red is 25%, etc). I've isolated each section with a layer mask so I have to decide between adding a Layer Effect>Color Overlay, or Adjustment Layer>Recolor (or HSL) to each group of layers, or to each individual layer. Also wondering if it's more efficient to add the layer effect or adjustment layer to the group layer or to each layer individually. I just want the program and my computer to run as smoothly as possible, been noticing the fans getting a little louder after adding a Color Overlay Layer Effect to each group. Just want to know if that's the best option or if there's a better one that's less taxing to my pc. I'm on Windows 10, with an Asus ROG laptop which has an Nvidia GTX1070 with 6 or 8 GB dedicated graphics. I've attached a pic of how I've organized the groups. I opened the 100% group so you can see what's inside each group, and all the other percent groups are organized the same.
  8. When setting the inside outline Opacity to 0%, it changes to white or transparent depending if Document > Transparent background is checked or not.
  9. Would like to see Affinity add multiple instances of an effect--multi-strokes, multi shadows, multi glows, you get the idea.
  10. Hi Developers of Affinity, While using your latest windows beta 1.6.0.87 of your lovely Affinity Designer I noticed following odd behavior. 1) If you create rectangle 2) Shear it with transform tool 3) Apply Gradient Overlay layer FX 4) Set the angle 270 degrees (or zero) The gradient will rotate based on Shear not the layer fx degree value as one would expect. Is this feature or bug? Take Care!
  11. When I add a gradient overlay along with outline in the FX panel, I get no interaction. Shouldn't gradient OVERLAY be like a coating on top of everything? I can't get these two effects to blend at all.
  12. Hello, I can't find a way to copy or save a color set in a color overlay layer FX to a swatch. If this is not possible yet, I think it's essential to a lot of UI designers out there. Thanks, Fernando
  13. Hi, I was missing an obvious option to remove a layer fx, for example by: 1. context menu (RMB) 2. an entry in menu layers (plus shortcut) 3. via drag 'n drop (like in Adobe Phoooooop) Up to now, I had seen me forced to click on the fx icon and then deselect all used fx (in worst case all 10) to get rid of the fx. Together with all the mouse movements too much clicks and precise mouse work. WORKAROUND (I just found today): w1. CMD+C on an element with no layer fx (and no style) w2. CTRL+CMD+V to paste the fx So now this feature request can be seen as low-prio/cosmetic :) Keep continue working on this great piece of software, Stefan. see also: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/24663-toggle-layer-fx-onoff/
  14. Hi, it would be great to have the same functionality for show/hide layer effect by using the modifier SHIFT as it is already implemented for layer masks Thanks in advance, :) Stefan.
  15. Using Deviant Arts new logo, added it to a group of folks there playing around with it.
  16. Another fun piece, AD worked very smooth here. For the last layer some lagging of the vector brushes but not before. Minor bug: proportional rescale for export as PNG did not work ( not matter if I set it to ' lock ' or not ).
