  1. I made a Swedish hyphenation dictionary from the Open source files at Libre Office, but it's getting tedious to install them in the actual application package every time the beta expires and there's a new version available. Couldn't the language dictionaries be stored somewhere outside the app package? For instance in a /Documents/Affinity/Dictionaries/ folder. I attach the Swedish hyphenation dictionary folder for anyone who wants to use it when trying out Publisher. sv-SE.zip
  2. I'd like to know if it's possible to have a tutorial in portughese language. I just bought this software but I'm having trouble learning how to use it. I'm trying to draw a logo but I'm not been able to do it.
  3. A lot of my clients are from middle-east but Affinity Designer and Photo (Desktop and rest) have no support for these languages so I have to switch to other tools which makes my workflow unnecessarily complicated and time consuming. Please add support for these languages and enable the option for text direction (i.e. right to left <RTL> and left to right <LTR>)
  4. Dear developer, I installed HunSpell hungarian dictionaries with hyphenation. I checked auto hyphenation, but many place is buggy. See my attachments, these wrongs on one page, and I have many pages. Good hyphenation: Üd-vöz-lé-sem Ész-re-vet-tem nő-vé-re-met Can check good hungarian hyphenation here (Hungarian scientific Academy site): https://helyesiras.mta.hu/helyesiras/default/hyph I use version 58 now. Please fix hyphenation, because this useless now.
  5. Firstly, great to be able to have a look at Publisher for Windows - it looks really good. Small problem: although the language is (correctly) set to UK English in Preferences, the spellcheck marks 'centre' as an error, but not 'center'. It looks like it is checking US English.
  6. I was really enthusiastic to try Affinity Publisher, watched the tutorials, and then dove right in. I found it extremely well polished for a beta, as well as super intuitive. But then, bam. No support whatsoever for Japanese text input! All Japanese text shows as square placeholders. I understand this is a beta, but even beta programs should be able to support multiple language input. As I translate/publish in both English/Japanese this is a real deal breaker for me. Hopefully Japanese text input will be available soon, as I'd very much like to give this another go.
  7. Dear developers, I use HunSpell for hyphenation for my book wrapping in PagePlus. Can I set this in Publisher? I need hungarian language for my work.
  8. First of all, special thanks to everyone in affinity team for making this awesome software and releasing a free beta. Typing in Persian (or Arabic) isn't how it should be in Publisher so I attached a picture that might help. btw I hope you release Publisher on Microsoft Store too
  9. A solution for implementing the Polish dictionary. Download the files downloaded from https://donate.libreoffice.org/home/dl/src/5.1.3/all/libreoffice-dictionaries-5.1.3.2.tar.xz?idx=2 and place them in the place shown in the screenshot. You can probably use this method for other languages.
  10. Bonjour je viens d'installer Affinity sur mon Ordinateur comment faire pour que logiciel soit en francais Merci Hello I just installed Affinity on my computer how to make software is french Thanks.
  11. Hi, We want to install the software automatically to our business users. Where does Affinity Photo for Windows store the language setting which is set via Edit / Preferences / General / Language ?
  12. Hello. I am Korean and I am the user of Appenity Photo. (You know, I'm a Windows beta user.) I used beta version and I felt a little bit uncomfortable. Because Korean language is not supported. The neighboring countries of Korea can support, but the Korean language is not. Many users in Korea want to use the application program, but they are forced to use a different Photoshop because languages are not supported. We request Korean support for Korean users. Please review positively. Thank you!
  13. Hi, I can only get my spellcheck in Affinity Designer (Windows) to work if I go to the language section at the bottom of the character panel and change it to English (British). The problem is that it won't stay as the default. For each new document I need to set it. If I open a previous document from when it wasn't working, I need to select the text first before it will use the British English language. It keeps using Unknown (en-Au). Does anyone know how to set it as the default please?
  14. There's a basic feature in Office series or Adobe series programms. When choose font from control bar, it'll display the options according to the current system language. For example, when system language is Chinese, it'll display like this. But in both affinity designer and photo, all fonts display together and I can only tell them by their english names from a very long list, that's very unfriendly.
  15. Hi there ! I am using Windows 10 and the Windows default language is Brazilian Portuguese. So, the Affinity Photo is in Portuguese too. The problem is photographic terms that I am used to as patch, brush, dodge&burn, clarity, feather, etc, as all translate to unfamiliar words in portuguese. Some I manage to figure out what they means, but, in general, is uncomfortable to use the user interface in this way, I get tired of guessing what it means. I want to run Affinity photo in English without change the Windows language. Is this can be done ?
  16. In marathi/hindi language, words have joined syllables. But In P*******p I couldn't do that even if I pasted it from the google translate. So I found this solution in P*******p where you can change things in preferences. But Can't find the solution for affinity. Please Help! I have a lot of projects in marathi. I have attached the screenshot. This is the solution for P*******p: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2102748
  17. I would like to ask you to add Czech language interface to Affinity designer. And to Affinity Photo too. I will make the translation, if you tell me, how.
  18. It's a traditional way to write Japanese Vertically and it's widely used till this day. Some might suggest to break lines to mimic the vertical writing but it doesn't work. Here is why. I attached a pic showing the problem. If I just break each line, some letters' rotation won't be correct. I've seen this so many times in Hollywood movies trying to show vertical Japanese writing. Of course you could outline Japanese letters and arrange them vertically but that's too tedious if there are a lot of vertical writings. Also some Japanese fonts have specifically vertical ones for a design purpose. This is the big deal breaker for Japanese to use/switch to Affinity products. I greatly appreciate if the team would consider to add this feature. Thanks.
  19. We need all the requirements of the arabic language added to photo and designer and later publisher... adobe pictures for arabic fonts and the glyphs too... not to forget extensis suitcase fusion by celartem company on ce on separated mode ,we can't go back to Merge all windows state...
  20. Hi, can someone please tell me how do I change language settings. I am based in Italy so the program has downloaded in Italian, how do I change the progam settings to English? Thank you!
  21. Hy, a question about the next Affinity Publisher. I know It's not in Beta test yet. But, have you thought about users who need to write texts in Hebrew, ie using languages written from right to left? I am not simply speaking of modern Hebrew, without vowels, but also of ancient Hebrew, with vowels and diacritical signs, and so on.
  22. Will affinity program interface in Russian? Because know were your Serif series of programs to x5 in Russian. Can we expect this from you? Or maybe it is possible to translate the program interface for themselves based on Photoshop and other programs. p.s. used google.translate  p.p.s. Now a lot of graphics programs on a PC and mobile systems support my mother tongue, therefore I have been asked a question.
  23. Hello, I don't usually do text-proofing on AD, so I would like a way to set the default text tool language to "None", otherwise all designs get scribbly red lines under the text which is terrible for working on the layout. Also a way to set the language of *all* text boxes at once would be great.
  24. Hi. I have a question regardin Affinity Publisher. Whot languages do you plan to initially support? I don't mean UI, but text input (grammar and so on)
  25. I'm using Affinity Photo for Windows. My question is does it support typing in Arabic? because when I tried to the letters appeared detached where it should be connected. Also it appeared out of order, the last letter in the word comes first for some reason. Detached = ع ن ب Connected = عنب This problem happen with Photoshop and there was a solution for it. I'm not sure where or how to do it in Affinity Photo if it's there.
