Hey, so my problem is, that i can't use my keyboard for any texts or shortcuts. I dont know what i exactly did that it stopped working but :'D oh god its probably a really dumb question buuuut I really need some help now :o (don't have a problem in affinity photo or any other program, its just the designer) -
Hi, everybody, first, I want to thank everybody at Affinity for their awesome work. I’m loving my Affinity Photo for iPad, especially when I’m on the go. The biggest thing I’m missing, however, are keyboard shortcuts. Especially these: Cmd, Shift, Alt and Ctrl for manipulating with objects. For example, really often I want to resize object from center holding Cmd key and I’m not able to do that. 10x faster move with Shift+Arrows Shortcuts for (Un)Grouping and other basic stuff Shortcuts to show/hide guides and grid Since many people use their iPad Pros with Smart Keyboard, it would be really nice to have this option. Are there any plans to implement shortcuts in future releases? Thank you. -
I may be coming 'late to the party', but I've found a couple things that have speeded up my workflow which I want to share. Sometimes I want to edit an object but I don't know what layer it is on. Thanks to Serif, I click on the object and then use Ctrl/Cmd + K and the layer becomes selected. Thanks to Carl Surry, I now can use Alt/Option + X to get Black and White. I took his other advice to customize my own shortcuts--although because my hands find Shift easier than Alt/Opt, I used Shift for a modifier key. Now I can create new a new layer or a new mask layer, or get to my most-used Live Filters directly from the keyboard.

I couldn't find a way to set a keyboard shortcut for the following 'most used' blend modes Normal, Multiply, Overlay, Screen/Softlight Photoshop uses a Ctrl+ Shift+ a letter (M, S, F,)

Could we please have a keypress to select the parent of the currently selected object? This would allow for fast navigation within the Layers tree and adds a fine grained version of the Select All command, progressively expanding the current selection from a single object, up through the current group, layer, artboard, and document. Thanks for your consideration. -
When working in the Layers panel, I would love to be able to use the keyboard for certain operations like moving up and down in the layer tree with arrow key selecting layers by typing their names renaming a layer by hitting F2 moving layers up and down by hitting Ctrl+Up / Ctrl+Down (or Alt, maybe in combination with Shift) selecting layers by holding down the Shift key and using the arrow keys afterwards There might be more useful appliances for keyboard shortcuts.

Hi, I have just purchased and installed Affinity Photo on my iMac (I have also the iPad version), and in Preferences/Shortcuts there are only a few shortcuts. I do not find the shortcuts described in the Affinity Photo Workbook. Is it possible to download the shortcuts as described in the Workbook. Thanks. Christian.

how to copy selection and paste it to the new layer (like comand + c and command + v in photoshop) is is possible to activate bilt in keyboard and use it for shotcut commands? I am using aphinity on iPad pro -
Keyboard Short Cuts for IPad pro Only a day into Affinity Photo, so if i not seen the answer apologies. The Question simple, short cuts from blue tooth keyboard in Affinity can this be done ? On iPad Pro. Like say cmd key helped down on keyboard, browser options are now shown. Regards Rob -
Hello, There is one fabulously useful (and little known) keyboard shortcut in Photoshop to adjust brush size and hardness: you press Alt (on PCs), right-click your mouse, and drag the mouse left to right to increase/decrease brush size, and up and down to increase/decrease hardness. I use it all the time. This shortcut does not seem to exist in Photo 1.6, and I cannot seem to find a way to replicate it. Any ideas how to implement it, or should we suggest it for a future version? Thanks very much. EDIT: this shortcut applies regardless of the tool you use, as long as it is brush-based, e.g. it works with the Dodge tool as well as with the Paintbrush. -
Does the iOS version of Affinity Photo support keyboard hotkeys? I use my IPAD Pro with a Logitech keyboard and would love to use CTRL-C and CTRL-V for copy/paste (they currently don't work). Thank you, Kevin

I haven't been using Affinity Designer for a while. I updated AD recently and for some reason i found an issue with my custom shortcuts. I had made a shortcut for "Studio > Asset" on the previous version. I went to preference to make shortcut for asset again. It seems the "asset" option is missing from "preference > keyboard shortcuts". Was the shortcut option for asset removed or did i just forget how it is done? -
In certain circumstances the preferences allow the setting of keyboard shortcuts that don't make sense, or clash with existing shortcuts without giving a warning. Two examples I found this evening… Setting Zoom 100%, 200% 400% etc to the keys 1, 2, 4 with no modifier is accepted without warning that this clashes with the global transparency shortcut, which already uses the digits 0 through 9. Setting Geometry > Add, Subtract etc to the keys Alt + 1, Alt + 2 etc is accepted without warning that this will always create compounds, since Alt is already reserved as an additional modifier for these geometry operations. Also (since I am talking about keyboard shortcuts) please can I bump these earlier requests… Pen Tool Mode Selection Shortcut Search Keyboard Shortcuts Make Numeric Keypad Distinct From Digits <-allows for 16 new keys + modifiers!! I would really like the ability to change the mode of the Pen Tool via the keyboard. I was switching between curves, lines and polygons today, and having to jump up to the toolbar every time was driving me nuts! Thanks

Hey, I’ve been using a keyboard more with my iPad over the past couple of days now and tho it has some shortcuts within Photo for iOS it would be amazing to have some more to play with. For example when using the: “Smart selection brush tool” pressing “alt” it will change to the other mode e.g. if using “Add” pressing alt will change to “Subtract” [ and ] will change the brush change brush size. “Alt” and 1,2,3 or 4 will change the persona’s mode e.g. “photo, “selections” “liquify” soon. Ctrl, shift and + or - to change blend modes. Cmd + E export Cmd + Shift + E Save a copy Cmd + R Flip horizontal Cmd + Shift + R Flip vertical These are just examples of some and will add more soon. But what do you think are you using a keyboard with Photo’s and would like to see more hotkeys added to the program if so what would you like added.

Hi, how can I please easily adjust Opacity and Hardness with tablet (Wacom Intuos Pro)? I would like to have on the wheel not only Brush Size (by [ ]), but also Opacity and Hardness of the brush.... If it was possible to set Keyboard Shortcuts for Opacity and Hardness, it would be OK, but in the shortcuts there is only the size Thanks Jindra -
hello, i wish an option to stop cycling between actual and last tool i used when i press the same shorcut twice or more... for example, if i press V, then A, then press A again, it goes back to the V tool, this is very annoying for me... if this already exist i couldn't find. thank you for the attention

Hi there, maybe I'm just blind, but I'm missing shortcut to jump to the next or previous brush in the brushes studio (suggestion: , and .). I'm also missing simple keyboard shortcuts for decreasing and increasing the brush hardness like the shortcuts [ and ] for the brush size. My suggestion would be Shift+[ and Shift+]. Greetz, Tekl -
If I want to move an object down or up in the hierarchy of the Layers panel I can use CTRL+[ or ]. But what if I want to move it out of a group/symbol/layer? The only way is to use the "release" action, right? Is there a "release" action keyboard shortcut?

I've got another request: Please implement a function to print the keyboard shortcuts. That's especially useful for people who like to customize their keyboard shortcuts. I know I can always look them up in the menu but if we had a possibility to print a list we could simply put the printed list somewhere, e.g. on the wall behind the monitor. That's far more intuitive than having to look the shortcuts up every time we don't remember a specific one. Another solution would be to store the keyboard shortcuts as plain text file, this way we could simply open the file in any text editor and print the list. -
Hey there, I'm wondering if there are any tutorials specifically for putting the website design together and making it work. Is it simply html coded after designing a webpage in AD? For instance, how would you make functioning buttons and links from it? I don't mind the html part, I just need to know if the UI kit includes that type of option to make the buttons I create do something. If there's nothing AD can do for that, how are people creating mobile/web interfaces with their AD designs? Second question, are there any tutorials on how to make keyboards with the UI kit for mobile? Just keyboard skins. I've already viewed Affinity's tutorials on the UI kit, they don't answer these questions for me. Thank you~ -
I'd like to be able to use the same keyboard shortcut combinations for different tools. For example, since the default combination for "arrange > move to back" requires a key combination that is incompatible with my keyboard layout, I have assigned "CTRL+B" for this action. However, this combination is already in use so it clashes with the text tool (bold). If I assign it anyway, CTRL+B works for some objects (groups, images) and really does send them to back, but majority of objects like the rectangle, circle, triangle, etc don't work. And, once assigned, it also works when I try to use it for bolding the text, but the fact that most objects ignore this makes it unusable. So in a sense, even though these shortcuts seem to be clashing, they really are not. It would be great if Affinity could recognize that. Xara Designer works like that, and I've been using it for years. I think it's a cool feature and probably not too hard to implement. -
Hello people, some (perhaps stupid) question again. I use the apple keyboard with numeric keypad. It seems that the shortcuts do not work. Is there some method to use it? Greetings from Berlin :)
