Both Photo & Designer for iPad have Preference > Tools settings for "Nudge Distance" & "Modifier Nudge Distance," but all I could find in the help topics about that was this: I have figured out that the first works with the cursor keys on my Anker Bluetooth keyboard paired with my iPad, but no combination of its modifier keys works with the cursor keys to nudge anything by the modifier distance I have set in preferences. So what am I missing?

As a natural extension of the keyboard shortcuts now available in v2, the ESC key would be obvious. I personally miss in particular: - When I use the pen tool and want to finish the object I just drew and want to start a new one (here I have to reach out to the screen now and press a small x on the screen) - When there are dialogs or dropdowns open

If there is one thing I do often, then it is converting objects to curves. I use the keyboard shortcut for this constantly in the desktop version of Designer, but it is not possible to configure a shortcut for convert to curves in the iPad version? I hope you can add this - that would be very helpful. It is a pain to go to a menu for this every time. 2.0.4 on iPadOS 16.2

Please could the Preferences search box also search the Keyboard Shortcuts? At present if I am trying to find an action to check / alter the Keyboard Shortcut I have to know where that shortcut resides. If I don't (and I may not even know whether a shortcut can be assigned to a given action) then I have to trawl through the whole list. Even better - filter the shortcuts by the search term to remove all the options that I don't want to see. Case in point: I'd like to find whether I can assign a shortcut to Show Rotation Centre, and have gone cross eyed looking for the option! Thanks.

There are currently a few instances of controls in dialog boxes that have accessibility issues. A quick non-exhaustive bunch of examples: - the graphical aspect ratio lock button (for instance in the Resize Document dialog) can be focused and activated with the keyboard, but lacks a visible focus indication (affinity-focus-visible-lock.gif) - radio buttons receive focus, but lack a focus indication; in most cases though, they can still be activated with the keyboard (using Space) (affinity-focus-visible-radios) - there are some radio buttons that do receive focus, lack a visible focus indication, and in addition, even when they have focus, they can't be checked/activated using the keyboard (affinity-focus-visible-keyboard-fill.gif, affinity-focus-visible-keyboard-matte.gif) - in some dialogs (with radio buttons), it seems that keyboard focus never gets to the Apply/Cancel buttons (affinity-focus-visible-keyboard-fill.gif, affinity-focus-visible-keyboard-matte.gif) there are likely more variations along the same line. this also applies to other Affinity products (Affinity Designer etc) that use the same UI widgets. [attaching the animated gifs (that show cycling through dialogs using Tab) as a zip, as it seems I can't upload raw gifs.] affinity-photo-focus-keyboard-gifs.zip

Zoom-in shortcut should be ⌘= rather than ⌘+. It's Ctrl = on Windows. why it's different on Mac? Though ⌘= works with the US keyboard, it does not work with the JIS(Japanese) keyboard. On JIS Keyboard, - "=" is on the same key with "-." - "+" is on the same key with ";." The result is: - ⌘= does not work. - ⌘+(⌘⇧;) conflicts with the spell check.

Some users complain that Japanese input with hardware keyboards won't work properly when the Live Conversion is enabled It's in iOS Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard *please move this topic to Bug report section. I've posted this in wrong section.

Hey Affinity team, this continues to be one of my recurring pains with the entire suite, and as someone who loves navigating menus and input fields with the keyboard it drives me crazy. I've raised the issue some years before, but I can't seem to find it again here on the forum. The (mis-)behaviour is incredibly annoying if you are used to working with keyboard shortcuts – every other software has a logical sequence for jumping/changing the active field with tabs. As far as the whole Affinity suite is concerned, I only recognise fragmentary connections that do not correspond to any logic, and this is independent of the desktop operating system (Mac/Win). Sometimes the cursor jumps to the next field, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes you get a hint or error tone. The key combination Shift + Tab, which normally jumps to the previous field, does not work either. Therefore: Please, it would be great if you could clean up the logic in the suite – even if it costs a lot of time, talking about creating tab-enabled forms in Acrobat. 😪. In addition, tabbed navigation also allows for better accessibility. I would love to see and improvement on this matter in a future update! 🙂 Cheers Dennis

I would like to set a shortcut to open the last used file. This can be very convenient, for example if you need to close one of the Affinity apps and want to continue working on the same file later.

When working in the Layers panel, I would love to be able to use the keyboard for certain operations like moving up and down in the layer tree with arrow key selecting layers by typing their names renaming a layer by hitting F2 moving layers up and down by hitting Ctrl+Up / Ctrl+Down (or Alt, maybe in combination with Shift) selecting layers by holding down the Shift key and using the arrow keys afterwards There might be more useful appliances for keyboard shortcuts.

I know this thread is very old now, but I was also looking for the German keyboard shortcuts and I found them here for Mac: https://affinity.help/photo/de.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Workspace/shortcuts.html?title=Tastaturkürzel# I think they are all still the same however my German keyboard does not have the [] brackets as main keys (on mine it is Alt/Option 5 and 6), so I am not sure how to shortcut the use of the paintbrush without them. The German shortcuts also have the same brackets listed as the shortcut, so I admit I am confused.

Please add a hotkey to "Enable Transform Origin' to the Keyboard shortcuts. I don't want to click this tiny button if I don't have to.

Hi there, maybe I'm just blind, but I'm missing shortcut to jump to the next or previous brush in the brushes studio (suggestion: , and .). I'm also missing simple keyboard shortcuts for decreasing and increasing the brush hardness like the shortcuts [ and ] for the brush size. My suggestion would be Shift+[ and Shift+]. Greetz, Tekl

If I choose to close a document without saving I'm asked if I want to save it before closing. I have to confirm this with the mouse, but since I (on the Mac) can close the document with Command-W I already have my fingers at the keyboard, so it would be nice to finish everything with another key press. Maybe "Y" and "N" or something like that.

Problem Keyboard shortcuts on the numpad are rather limited in functionality (apart from the fact that there is no differentiation between the numeric row and numpad keys), because the Shift key negates Numlock. This means that Shift+Numpad key activates the secondary function (as if numlock was turned off). It invokes Home, End, PgUp, PgDown, Left, Right, Up, Down and Clear. This means that any combination of keyboard shortcuts with the shift key becomes 'invalid' since it replicates a key that is accessed with a single press. Considering that any keyboard with a numpad has access to these stand-alone keys, it makes little sense that they are registered this way. I know some applications are faced with the same limitation, however, some (such as Blender) don't have this issue. This is on Windows 10, UK keyboard, US International layout, using 1.10.4.1198. Observation Apart from creating redundant key sequences, some of the combinations cannot seem to be assigned properly, for instance if I assign shift + Numpad 5 as keyboard shortcut, it registers as "clear". Shift + Alt + Numpad 5 becomes Alt + Clear, and Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Numpad 5 is impossible to enter, because the value box remains active on "Ctrl + Alt + Clear". Notice that the any commands assigned to key-sequence with "Clear" as value work as intended. However, it does not register when using the regular 5 key, so it is actually recording a different input than a numeric key. Expectation I expect the key-sequence to show the numbers the same way as the numeric row does, so they won't circumvent numlock when using the numpad. Better solution Or better yet, any numpad key should be registered as Num(pad) [key]. This is how Blender does it and that way, any key from the numpad, whether 1-9 or / * - + . key, they will register without issues and most importantly, may be used for additional shortcuts, see and

When customising the shortcuts for Affinity Photo (right) compared to Affinity Designer (left), I noticed many shortcuts were already taken by other functions, meaning that I could not mirror the shortcuts from Affinity Designer. After some testing I can confirm that Ctrl+Alt+L and Ctrl+Alt+R (also assigned to refine edges) work with the text frame selected, whereas Ctrl+Alt+C does not (Resize canvas). So to me it is unclear which commands may and which commands may not execute due to them being overruled by other commands. Would it be possible to introduce context sensitve hotkeys to the apps, meaning that, if I have a text frame selected or when I am working with text, keyboard shortcuts within this context overrule other shortcuts. Instead of being prompted with Resize Canvas, I would be able to align my text to the centre, something that is more in-line with the current selection/ working context. The other way around, if I am not working with text, the same shortcut would execute the resize canvas command. This helps for creating both efficient (double key usage) and memorable shortcut schemes. Current behaviour when editing text or with the text frame selected (using the Move tool): Context sensitive hotkeys.mp4

Description In Indesign, you can apply any character or paragraph style and setting to text through a search box (set to ctrl+Enter). This allows for making text bold, align it vertically, horizontally, insert text variables (date of creation/ last save), etc. Note that this is not exclusive to text, and could also be used to alter the appearance of frames and more. Additional options The search window has a checkbox which filters the search results based on categories. These filters are persistant, and will be applied through each subsequent search. Advantages The advantage hereof is that if you work on a book with 10+ character and paragraph styles each (some of which are nested), it can become difficult to memorise keyboard shortcut assignments to each of the styles (especially when there are multiple large projects). The idea here is that, if the styles are named according to a convention, you will only have to type (a part of) the name of the style, hit enter and it is applied to the selected text or text frame. Since it can be used to execute menu items it reduces shortcuts that need to be memorised (and can be forgotten). It is rather quick, as you don't need to search through the application, but instead just type in what you require, which could take as little as a few characters. When typing text, it does not break the flow of typing.

Having spent a lot of time customising the interface and keyboard shortcuts for Affinity Photo and Designer, I don't want to redo all this work in Publisher. Instead, I would love to see Publisher synchronise the settings from both apps (this should be a checkbox within the keyboard shortcut interface so people can opt not to), thus loading in studio presets and keyboard shortcuts. Synchronising keyboard shortcuts and the like also circumvents discrepancies between the apps where, if I modify a few hotkeys, I have to take into account that this also needs to be changed the other app.

Within the Develop Persona, there are particularly little keyboard shortcuts that can be configured. While most of the action occurs within the studio panels, the toolbar items are the ones that need to be mapped to keyboard shortcuts the most. Nevertheless, there are no options for me to assign show highlight clipping (O in Camera Raw), blackpoint clipping (U in Camera Raw) or clipped tones, Single view, Split view or Mirror view, neither for Sync before/ after or swap. I am also missing a toggle to toggle between the original, non-modified version of the image and the developed image, because once I synced before/ after, I cannot go back to the non-modified image.
