  1. If I shoot a Photo on my iPhone in HEIC format, after that photo is synced to my Mac, I can open it directly from Affinity Photo in the Media section of the Open File dialog, but it imports as JPEG instead of HEIC. If I instead use the Place option to import the photo directly from the Media portion of the dialog, it comes in as TIFF. But if I export from Photos as HEIC, I can open the resulting HEIC image fine. I don't know if this is an Apple thing or an Affinity thing, but is there a way to directly import the original HEIC image file? Thx
  2. Hi all, Using Photo 2 on Mac, I noticed some odd behavior last night. I have found a handful of photos that when I load into Photo 2, the back ground will switch to light gray, and the photo will be very washed out, when I move the mouse over it. When the mouse moves out of the window, it changes back to normal. So far all of the photos I've found that do this are from my iPhone 13 Pro (but I can't say for sure it doesn't happen with photos from other cameras) but it also doesn't happen with all photos from my iPhone. I have plenty that behave normally. I've included a video demonstrating this behavior below. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks, John 9EBDCE69-9696-48CA-8C90-F0727FFB7900.mov
  3. that might be a weird question but is it possible to use affinity photo as view finder and remote controller for an iPhone? I speak for the desktop Mac versions but also the version for iPad Pro would be great if it would be possible to realize it. thank you very much...
  4. Hi! Does it make sense to wait for the light version for the iPhone in the near future? I really miss the pocket vector editor for accurate sketches ... with symmetry and sticking on the grid Or can you recommend an application from another manufacturer?
  5. Are there any lens profiles available for the 3 lenses of the iPhone 11 Pro Max ? Since the best camera is the one you carry along, I take a surprisingly high part of my photos with my iPhone. For better results I often use the app Halide. It creates RAW files that need to be developed as any RAW image. I prefer to do this on my Mac, transferring the images via iCloud. I would like to have preinstalled lens profiles, especially for the super-wide and wide angle lenses. I have not found such profiles yet. Anybody knows a source and can post a hint or a link ?
  6. I would love there to be an app for iPhones that can open the .afdesign and .afphoto files and view them and allow an export to any desired format. I have all my Affinity documents in my iCloud drive and I can see them all in the file browser on phone, but only as a small preview. As soon as you click it you can't see anything. If there was a simple App for iPhone that would allow you to render it and also save as image file that would be extremely convenient, and would save me having to store PNGs next to each Affinity file.
  7. If you're designing an iOS app icon, you can use this template to export the 18 different icon sizes required by Apple named according to Apple’s guidelines. To get started, edit the Icon symbol on the App Icon layer. When you are ready to export, switch to the Export Persona and click the Export Slices button. Make sure to disable the mask layers before you export – icons should be exported as square images. You can download the latest version on my website. Thanks for looking!
  8. Hello Team ! Just wanted to know at some stage Affinity Photo will support Lens Profile for devices like iPhones, Samsung Galaxy, Huawei, Pixel and Mi by Xiaomi ? IN fact, today there a lot of people are shooting with their mobile phone because it is what they own and like but those devices doesn't produce RAW file the same way big brand does but some will produce HEIC, JPEG and TIFF files. I know you focus on Pro and Expert but will it be possible for small creators to also be taken in consideration ? Blessings
  9. I just downloaded the iOS 11 UI Kit expecting to use the new iPhone X bars to generate app mockups, however when I drag the assets into my iPhone X artboard generated from "new from template" it's not already the width of the artboard. How does this make any sense at all. Auto scaling the font's and other sub layers doesn't work intuitively and at this point I'm struggling to find a reason to stick with Affinity Designer for UI/UX design for mobile.
  10. I've found this from a chinese affinity forum, it seems interesting so I ask the author sharing this source file with you He told me that it's modified from a totally FREE mockup which was created by invision. iPhoneX_FREE_Mockup.zip
  11. I just purchased Affinity Photo with hopes that it would be compatible with Apples Continuity Camera. But with huge regrets it fails to support this import feature. I have high hopes that this is on Affinity's radar. Continuity Camera allows Mac users to take a picture or scan a document nearby with their iPhone or iPad and have it appear instantly on their Mac.
  12. Hi everyone finished my interpretation of what the iPhone should look like along redesigns of some of the stock apps Feedback much appropriated
  13. Hi, will there be an iPhone version? Would be great!!!!!! I could really need this!!! Thanks, best regards
  14. It's me again, just wrote a quick test (in French) on the Astropad iOS app with Affinity Photo. http://www.photographes.tv/Transformer-votre-iPhone-en-tablette-graphique-avec-Astropad-Mini-_a1617.html richarre
  15. New Photo user. I shot a panorama using my iPhone 8 the other day, brought the JPG into Photo to enhance and notice thin vertical lines in areas of consistent color - such as sky. Perhaps due to the phone stitching many images? Is there any way to eliminate these? How? Thanks for a great editor. The more I use it and view the tutorials the more I am impressed by its capabilities.
  16. Aff. Designer 1.6.4.104 Windows Hi, I am confused by the resolutions of the artboard presets. For example why is iPhone 5's artboard size 426.67px x 757.33px? Hardware resolution of the iPhone 5 is 640px x 1136px and "CSS resolution" is 320px x 568px. The size values of the artboard preset are not even whole numbers. Maybe I am missing some crucial information/knowledge here. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.
  17. Hi, Iam trying macro in affinity photo to make iPhone designs using mock-up, please help me out for placing image and resizing the design. Something like this https://youtu.be/lWgF4uSkCR4 I am using affinity phote cause I have created mock-up and I get best out it in affinity photo. Thanks
  18. I decided to do some nighttime photographing in my hometown with my iPhone7 and my tripod. I used the NightCap Pro app for these shots. The dark exposure (2) was shot at ISO100, f/1.8, 25s to protect the highlights and the bright exposure (1) was shot at ISO1000, f/1.8, 25s. I believe the iPhone 7 can only take long exposures of about 3s, so what this app basically does is stacking several photos for noise reduction and ISO controls the brightness of the photo. Nevertheless I was pretty amazed by what is possible with current smartphone cameras! I blended the dark and the bright exposure in Affinity Photo for iPad to bring some details in the highlights, especially for the windows on the right of the image. Then some color correcting, white balance, etc. and some dodging and burning. I wanted a warm image, because I am thinking of using this photo as a Christmas postcards for my family and friends - so I still need to do some lettering... Anyways, it was fun to do and I learned a lot about Affinity Photo for iPad and my iPhone 7... Best regards, Wetterhoun
  19. I'm trying to cobble together a workflow for shooting raw on an iPhone or iPad then editing in Affinity on an iPad. Current best bet would seem to be shoot RAW on iPhone using Lightroom Mobile, which syncs happily with the iPad but I can't yet figure out how to get dng files from Lightroom Mobile into Affinity. Anyone done this? thanks.
  20. I have a number of panoramic images taken by an iPhone, i.e. the iPhone already did the stitching of separate shots. I'm probably missing something obvious, but how do I open these images in AP to use its panoramic tools? If I just open it I simply end up with a rather elongated picture which is not quite what I was after
  21. I decided to create visual journal to keep things organized. Due to work, i won't be able to post regularly. But i will try to keep things organized here. You can check out my Dribbble account to see my work. I haven't started posting work on Dribbble using AD yet as i got the software for 2 days only. But i would soon. You can also checkout out my DeviantArt account where i upload the source file of the design if you are interested in downloading the files and examining.
  22. Hello Guys, Well i have been using AD for my UI design projects and i am enjoying it so far. Some of you guys may know that there are multiple devices with multiple screen sizes. Multiple resolutions which doesn't scale up or down proportionally due to difference in aspect ratio. So how do you guys start the design? 1. Do you create an artboard with smallest version then scale up or other way around? 2. How do you export the assets with AD? (By export i meant efficient way to export multiple size) 3. How do you deal with different aspect ratio? I know that AD has good export tools where i can choose 1x, 2x for export but the aspect ratio for all screens are not same. I started a design for Iphone 5 retina display. It has an aspect ratio of 16:9. So i can use 1x, 2x asset features to scale up or down. 4. But what about android with ratio 16:10 for some device? My strategy was to design for different ratio, starting with smallest device then scale up asset during export. 5. Is this an efficient way or do you have better way? Note this question is not directly related to AD but the question general. But as i am using AD export feature so i am asking here to know if there is some efficient way that i didn't figure out.
  23. It's crucial for mobile designers to have the option to see the design they are working on on their device. There are apps for PS like SilkScreen, Skala, Liveview... Without this designing for mobile devices is a pain. Please do this :)
  24. It would be nice to have an application on your smartphone to see how your artboards look like in action. Exspecially for me as a developer is that quite important. I've already seen this feature on "Sketch" and it would be really helpful to have the same opportunity. Thank you
