Hi Serif and @Ash Discussed before but trying to visualize things a bit and make the use case clear. I use an iPad Pro for what it was designed for, a very mobile powerful setup both as is and connected to accessories and monitors. I have an iPad Pro 11” latest generation with most recent iPadOS installed. Stage Manager is NOT enabled! Does not have to for this to work. I have an external monitor connected using HDMI via an Apple adapter. The monitor is as normal as a current office monitor gets; BenQ with no particular fancy resolution. The iPad itself I use with an Apple Pen when I am on the move, but when working in front of a monitor like this I have a Bluetooth keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse connected. Meaning, I don’t touch the iPad unless I really have to. I have an Apple Magic Trackpad for that, but it would of course be nice if a mouse could zoom as well. A scroll wheel really is powerful when used for zooming. Affinity currently doesn’t support zooming using zoom wheel on iPadOS meaning I must reach out for the iPad or use the Magic Trackpad. Serif has an open bug on this issue: zoom using the zoom icon currently doesn’t work with a Bluetooth mouse. Affinity currently doesn’t support holding the space key for panning on iPadOS either (or include the hand icon, panning tool) Affinity 2.0.4 cannot be maximised on the external screen - other apps can All in all total show stopper combo 😞 Affinity 2.0.4 - cannot maximize Google Chrome - easily maximized: Amadine - easily maximized - and check out the elegant, simple user interface So in short, Serif, when you work on improving these issues and external monitor support, have this setup and these issues in mind as very, very related.

I can see that there is still no warning implemented in Affinity 2.0.4 when opening v1 legacy documents? Then it's an obvious candidate for 2.0.5 or 2.1 at the latest, Serif. My workflow is not at all different on my iPad Pro, I open and save the same files from the same locations in the cloud, but I can easily, uninformed and by mistake overwrite a v1 file that must not be overwritten, with v2 format. Only difference is that I'm on the iPad for a while. Then back on Mac or Windows. Or iPad. I'm not a different person or in a different production context when I use the iPad Pro. It's just the hardware I can best use where I currently am. Surely we don't need to reorganise the entire content architecture by file format, do we? To avoid such irreversible unconscious actions, because the software doesn't inform on iPad, but does on desktop.

Bug Using either the . or delete keys on the iPad Pro/iPad Air 4 attachable Magic Keyboard return (null) when entering a form field for an attribute (I.e. document dimensions, transform tools, stroke size, etc.) The expected result would be 10.4 instead 10(null)4 centimeters when entering a value into the transform or other tools. Delete doesn’t remove text either. For example, if I enter 10.5 and hit delete the then 4, the output should be 10.4 but the systems renders it as 10(null)5(null)4. Temporary Workaround Can be corrected only by using the touch interface to use the calculator’s . And <x| Virtual key. Devices Used: iPad Air 4 (2020) on iPadOs 14.2 Magic Keyboard

A bug: I save regularly using CMD + S on my keyboard attached via Bluetooth to my iPad Pro 2022. Affinity Designer clearly shows SAVING every time. If I save my changes then immediately go to the Home Screen of Designer, there is still a M for modified next to the title of the thumbnail of the file. Only if I save the file from the Save / Save as options from the thumbnail, the M is removed. V2.0.4 on iPadOS 16.2

I'm quite unsure what the term 'Live docs' covers, and so I don't know how best and safest to use it. It would be common here in 2023 to decode it as some cloud based online real-time collaboration tool, but Serif hasn't got there yet, so what is it? My own real need is really just 'Recent documents' which are closed, and may have been closed for weeks, but I'd like to open lightning fast again. As in desktop. So, Serif, what do you technically mean by this: Return to documents you’ve created or opened but not closed by tapping Live Docs. Simply tap one’s thumbnail to continue working on it. You can also save and close documents from here. Are the files under live docs systemically opened by iPadOS, and are system resources used by Affinity, and should they be closed when not being worked on, or are the documents just a pseudo-open with thumbnail for quick access - a sort of thumbnail recent documents? I assume they are open somehow, as they can lie in that state with unsaved changes for a long time, and what if you close Affinity with files here with unsaved changes? So all in all I miss an option with recently opened files. I don't need all the samles that use UI space on the central Home Screen and does so forever.

The way you switch node type in the iPad version of Designer is both good and bad. I guess it's ok that you can use arrows to tap your way through, but the dropdown menu works poorly. Both are slow and clunky to use, and I don't know if you've even tried to work on more than mundane drawings with such difficult access to switching types. The dropdown is without pictorial representation of the types of nodes, and it initially showed only 2 with no indication that there are more. You have to scroll to see it is scroll and that there are more. Hm. Now it shows 3. I don't understand why this central part of many workflows is so clumsily implemented and, in addition, packed away (It is not in the desktop version, for good reasons), while far less frequently (to say the least) options take up much of the toolbar. They could usefully be in dropdowns. In the same context, I can say that I could really use the ability to associate keys with these node types, so that I could use my keyboard to switch node types directly, which is very easy and efficient. When there is nothing to undo, or redo, the undo/redo button should be greyed out so that it cannot be selected. I'm thinking of the undo redo buttons I have enabled in prefs.

My travel setup is an iPad Pro 2022 with an Apple Magic keyboard and more. Amazing lightweight and flexible setup. With keyboard shortcuts available in v2.0(.3) I can work fast when I have the opportunity to sit at a table or desk. However the spacebar is not yet supported for panning like in the desktop version - which is a real pity. I hope you can add support for that too. And also consider supporting the mouse scroll wheel for zooming - I requested it too - iPadOS supports it. 🙂

Dear Serif Software 🙂 I travel a lot, and for that I constantly use an iPad Pro 2022 model that gives me maximum freedom to work seriously, professionally and flexibly. And after all, that's what iPad Pro is made for. When I can work at a desk, I have a mouse connected via a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, and I also somewhat redundantly have a Magic Trackpad at my right hand. Still, I really miss being able to zoom with my mice that have scroll wheel, which I can also do on the desktop version. It's so much more efficient to zoom in and out where you are with the scroll wheel, and when I'm sitting with the mouse in my hand and using it, it's silly not to take advantage of it. 🙂 I use Designer the most for big illustrations and I zoom a lot in and out. A lot. Using my fingers for it is less effective, and when I use the Apple keyboard as well (that is now supported by Affinity v2) reaching for the screen with you hand as well is awkward. It's not that the scroll wheel isn't supported by iPadOS, it's supported fine by iPadOS itself, but has no function within Affinity, so I hope you can get it implemented like in the desktop edition. 🙂

I was trying to check the colour profile of the document I’m currently working on in Publisher2 for iPad, and couldn’t figure out how to check it. So I went to the online guid: https://affinity.help/publisher2ipad/English.lproj/contents.xml# Which direct me to tap on the “≡” (Documents menu) then to select the “Convert Document” option, but unless I’m misunderstanding something I don’t see that as an option within the Documents menu? Unfortunately we don't currently officially support Stage Manager on iPad or macOS with the Affinity apps, our apologies. Our team are aware of issues when using this feature (such as slow 'switching' between apps on macOS, occasional crashing when switching apps and lack of full screen external monitor support on iPad) and we're working to hopefully address these issues in a future update.
-
You may have been asked to provide a crash report when speaking with our support team. This will help them look into your issue further and hopefully allow our developers to figure out what caused the crash. Below are instructions explaining where the Crash Reports are stored on Windows, MacOS and iPadOS: Windows Press the Windows Key + R to launch the Run dialog and enter the relevant app path: %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Designer\2.0\CrashReports\reports %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Photo\2.0\CrashReports\reports %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Publisher\2.0\CrashReports\reports Our crash reports will have a filename that's made up of random alphanumeric characters and will have a .dmp extension. Please send us this file. macOS Open the Console app from Applications > Utilities. In the left hand panel click Crash Reports - you will see a list of Crash Reports. Find the relevant crash report - it should display the app's name in the Process Name column. Right click and select Reveal in Finder. Please send us the .crash file. iPadOS Go to Settings > Privacy > Analytics > Analytics Data You will see an alphabetical list showing all crash reports on your iPad. Find and open the one that corresponds to the Affinity app that's crashing. Click Share to save to an .ips file and save it to a cloud service.

Is there a fix for this problem ? plz help NB: the develop module recognize that i took the pic with th tamron, but in the lens correction section it says "no lens profile" (for the tamron no for the nikon)

I add a new photo AP. I go to Color, Swatches,, and Add Document Palette, nothing happens. Am I wrong to suggest the colors from the open photo would be added as swatches? If wrong, how can you obtain photo colors to add to swatches, other then color picker one by one.
