  5. 1) Photos have been imported from Ricoh GRii to iPhoto. 2) On Ricoh's, when you shoot JPEG+RAW in black and white, the JPEG will be black and white but the RAW will always be in color. 3) From there I am attempting to import a black and white photo to Affinity. When viewing the photo library to select which photo I want to import, the black and white photo appears black and white and there is the RAW icon in the bottom right the photo. 4) I then import the photo but it will only appear as the color RAW version. 5) How do I import the JPEG instead of the RAW?
  6. Hi! After deselecting objects, there are remnants of the pink outline (that I belive is there to highlight what is selected). It does not go away no matter what I try, except whilst I'm zooming, or if I reopen the file... Is this a bug or a feature? Is there a setting somewhere to disable this outline?
  7. I have a project in which I need a star shape with several points—easy. But I also need the points of the star to “wave” like sun rays. I know I can convert to curves and individually add nodes to each of the points, and then “bend” the lines to create the wavy rays. I want to know if there’s a way to create those rays universally—in other words, editing one star point edits every star point. Is this possible?
  8. Hi there! I've been working on translating my earlier Josephine Baker illustration into a plushie pattern design. I've been only using my iPad and Designer for this project and I'm enjoying it!!!! I'll post the doll when she's finished! Enjoy! Stephen
  9. Does the iOS version of Affinity Photo support keyboard hotkeys? I use my IPAD Pro with a Logitech keyboard and would love to use CTRL-C and CTRL-V for copy/paste (they currently don't work). Thank you, Kevin
  10. Hey, I’ve been using a keyboard more with my iPad over the past couple of days now and tho it has some shortcuts within Photo for iOS it would be amazing to have some more to play with. For example when using the: “Smart selection brush tool” pressing “alt” it will change to the other mode e.g. if using “Add” pressing alt will change to “Subtract” [ and ] will change the brush change brush size. “Alt” and 1,2,3 or 4 will change the persona’s mode e.g. “photo, “selections” “liquify” soon. Ctrl, shift and + or - to change blend modes. Cmd + E export Cmd + Shift + E Save a copy Cmd + R Flip horizontal Cmd + Shift + R Flip vertical These are just examples of some and will add more soon. But what do you think are you using a keyboard with Photo’s and would like to see more hotkeys added to the program if so what would you like added.
  11. Using the History is causing Designer to crash. For the record, this is a 11 inch by 16 inch, 300 dpi file I’m working with. The background image is (was?) a 72 dpi image from photos. Did I wear out my iPad’s RAM, or is this just 1.7 update growing pains? C487C27A-26E7-4790-832A-96AA6BAA8ED3.MP4
  12. Hi, since last update, I can't move my brush size ! Slider does not work at all. Is there a way to fix that? I'm on the latest version of Affinity for iPad. And I'm working on an iPad pro 12.9 OSX 12.2. Thx for your answer.
  13. When I’m using design and use .. welll anything. It’s very very very slow or keeps crashing on me. It’s its slow I can’t even use the app,at this time
  14. Follow this link to see a video that demonstrates this sugggested feature visually. This would be a brush feature adjustment that is a bit more “free” and intuitive than our current ability to adjusted vector lines with the pressure curve. This tool would allow us to grab our vector lines and push and pull them from any point on the individual vector without affecting any of the other vectors in the document. After seeing Kyle Webster working in this way in Adobe Animate, I thought, “Surely we could have a tool like this in Designer that could be even better.”
  15. the gestures of touches do not recognize when I use my apple pencil and show that circle, the circle works best with the finger. Please change that!!!!
  16. Hi all, I have affinity photo on Mac and ipad since one year ago. After starting using it for few days on ipad I stopped using it since then because the raw developer was much worse quality than the Macbook one, especially in darkness, highlights and the exaggerated contrast slider effect (even at 1%) compared to the Mac one. Yesterday I updated it on both platforms to 1.7 hoping that finally the issue in the different "develop" outputs between the two versions was solved (reading all the nice changelogs). Unfortunately I found to be even worse than one year ago before comparing the same RAW file straight out from my sony a7r2. Am I doing something completely wrong or it safe to assume that it's unusable on ipad? Here I just did a quick test, and I upload the RAW file as well so anyone can try. so first, UNEDITED RAWs in develop persona. open the raw in both platform and the histogram is completely different already, you can see how much is underexposed on ipad compared to the one on Mac. The whole spectrum is shifted to the left. You might say "just crank up the exposure on ipad", but that's not the point. Did you notice all the ruined colors in the water reflections? the reflections in ipad looks like totally burned (giant color stains). If you don't have the computer/ipad with you it's even visible in the two attached screenshot "unedited ipad" vs "unedited mac". let's move to the second example, EDITED RAWs, in develop persona. Exposure raised on both to 0.53EV and contrast to 1%, that's it. Photo "edited mac" is perfectly usable now, photo "edited ipad" needs to be trashed immediately, all the details are gone black. I hope someone can finally enlighten me, I don't know what else to do. Probably is my fault as well that I never found time to write this down in one year time. Thanks! Photo_27-12-18,_8_01_14_AM.arw
  17. Completely useless update. I have A LOT OF FILES with multiple artboards. Usually, I export my designs on PDF (because of the compatibility, most people has AI), and, with the update, there's no separation between the artboards. All you got is one single page with all the arboards on it, no separated pages, one by each one of the artboards. So, a really nice software is now ruined with an unnecessary update.
  18. Where I can find macros in Batch processing? I find guide in Help section, but I can’t find any macro option in batch processing. Also batch help page looks like a Windows or Mac version...
  19. Hey Guys, could anyone help me with affinity photo on IPad? I can‘t select any color with the color selection tool! Thanks for your replies Your I_like_cameras
  20. I was having this discussion with Mike Wenzloff in a Quark forum yesterday which was a great help to where I may go with this workflow. I wanted to ask the same question here to see if there is any serious pitfall I am not seeing among other Affinity users. I work for a company that does a lot of basic layouts; brochures, badges, mailers. I would like to buy Publisher for their machines so that I could just send them a Publisher file in Dropbox and they could change any text right from the program. They currently do this with MS Office files so it seems like moving to this workflow with our advertising would make as much sense. I'm on Mac they are on Windows and some also use iPads if Publisher comes to iPad at some point. Is anyone else doing something similar to this? Having that low price opens up workflows that I haven't tried before. I am also planning on incorporating other tools like Slack and Dropbox in this workflow.
  21. Affinity Photo for iPad is a powerhouse for editing pictures from digital cameras... one at a time. This philosophy is embedded in every single aspect of the workflow, from importing and making adjustments all the way to exporting. I have created an account on this website precisely to be able to ask the developers or marketers of the app (if they ever read this) who and why they’ve decided to blatantly limit the functionality of the iPad version of the app compared to the desktop version. The fact that this limitation in function is not mentioned anywhere in the description on iTunes Store or in any of the tutorials or promotionals videos is appalling and borders false advertising. But I guess the answer has been in the title all along...after all, it’s Affinity Photo not Affinity Photos... Inquisitively and respectfully, Mihai

  23. GEAR: Affinity Photo for iPad 1.6.12.86 on an iPad Pro 9.7” ISSUE: My default RGB Profile is Adobe RGB for working with raw images. When I choose "Export” and then change the ICC Profile to “sRGB” the resulting JPEG remains with the Adobe RGB profile. Is there something simple I’m missing on the iPad version to ensure exported images are given the proper ICC profile? (Note: I'm a long-time user of Affinity products, so asking this question is a bit embarrassing, but I think I’ve been looking at this problem for too long after processing a large batch of images that all ended up with the wrong color profile. )
  24. Affinity photo keep crashing on my iPad whenever I wanted to place an image or import an image. I’m not sure this happen before the update as I just recently bought this, but it keep happening quite frequently now. When you try to import and play around with the mask selection tool the app become a bit dodgy and crashes sometimes. I’m using iPad Pro 2018 12.9 inch
  25. Hi there, Is there anyway to stop Affinity automatically savings files within the affinity app? If you export/save the file to the ‘Photo’ folder Affinity creates in the ‘On my iPad’ location in Files, you end up with 2x copies of the same file; one in Affinity and one in Files which isn’t ideal. Also if you open the file from the Files app, a duplicate is opened in Affinity, so you end up with 3x copies at that point. in other apps, the app folder in Files mirrors what is being stored in the actual app itself. Many thanks Charlie
