  1. Hallo zusammen, Zunächst möchte ich mich für das große Bonuspaket (Upgrade) bei Serif bedanken. Leider bekomme ich nicht alle Inhalte(Downloads) von meinem Konto in der Affinity Suite Konto angezeigt so, dass man immer noch manuell über den Browser einige Pakete herunterladen und manuell installieren muss. Was ganz schön mühselig sein kann. Man weiß dann auch nicht ob diese alten Inhalte überhaupt mit der Version 2 noch kompatible sind. Das sollte Serif doch noch ein wenig verbessern. Bei diesem Upgrade Bonuspaket bekomme ich das Paket "Publication Typefaces Collection" auch nicht in der Suite angezeigt, also habe ich es heruntergeladen und wollte es Installieren nur haben diese den Dateityp .affont, wie installiert man diese Dateien? Font Dateien wurden die ganze Zeit über das Windows System installiert. Wenn Affinity jetzt beschlossen hat Fonts anders zu installieren, warum gibt man das nicht bekannt, sind diese Fonts dann nur in Affinity vorhanden oder werden sie auch für das Windows System zu Verfügung gestellt. und warum ist dann dieses Paket nicht im Affinity Konto innerhalb der Suite zu finden.   2. Hi, I recently attempted to install Affinity Photo 2.0.3, but was unsuccessful. I tried changing the file extension to .msi, but received an error stating that it is an unknown software. As I prefer to only install software that has been certified by Microsoft, I am hesitant to continue with the installation. Will this issue be resolved in the near future? If so, I would be interested in purchasing Affinity Photo if it is compatible with Cartoon Animator 5. However, if I am unable to install the software within the next 24 hours, I will have to consider other options. Thank you for your assistance. Best regards, Greg T. SOLUTION: Change the non-existing extension (which the software developer forgot to add) to .msix and it makes the file able to install. So change affinity-photo-2.0.3 to affinity-photo-2.0.3.msix
  3. This can happen if the AppX Deployment Service (AppXSVC) is disabled for some reason. It can be enabled by following the below steps: Press the Windows Key + R Type Regedit into the Run dialog and press OK Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AppXSvc In the right pane double click on Start Change Value data to 2 and press OK Now restart your computer and try installing your Affinity V2 app again.

As the new apps are shipped as .MSIX package for Windows and there is some confusion about the location and accessibility of the executable (.exe) - the 0KB exe files are in the specific user folder (as opposed to C:\Users\Default) . I am wondering if it can be used by the second user (non admin) on the same computer - could anyone please clarify?
  5. Installed all three V2's, installed add-ins as registered. All that seems to work fine. However, when I open any of the three apps from my existing desktop icons, it still opens V1s. Rebooted Windows, tried again: same result. (Was able to pen the new V2 apps from the downloaded install executables which informed me each had already been installed and offered the option to open the program, which is what I opted for.) (When the installs of the V2s were completed, there wasn't any option to create new icons or replace old V1 icons. Also, it didn't inform where installs were being made and whether or not they over-wrote V1s or were new, clean/fresh independent installs. When I went looking in win file mgr, not seeing Affinity installs with today's date anywhere. [Really need better documentation and/or instruction content tabling, if those instructions and insights are already in the new docs - - just not finding them.] Anyone know where I can find the executables for the V2s so I can link them to the desktop???   7. Hello, I just bought my first brush pack in the Affinity store. I could easily install them in Affinity Designer, but it doesn't work in Affinity photo (desktop for Windows). When i import them, i have a message saying they've been added (as i did this multiple times, it say the name is *brush pack 2, brush pack 3* and so on), but they don't show in my brush panel. I tried to create a new category first but it didn't work either. I would like to find the location folder on Windows to uninstall all those packs that didn't work and find a way for it to work !   8. Hi, The title says it all. Please add your installation files to the Chocolatey package manager for Windows . So that I can further optimize and automate my software update processes. Affinity Photo and Designer are one of the last tools on my computer that need to be updated manually. Best regards
  9. Dear Ladies and Gentleman, Is it necessary to download the ressources bought in the store (brushes, etc.) within each app (Photo, Designer, Publisher)? Some of them are really huge Or is it possible to share the downloaded ressources in any way for the different apps? (Windows-Desktop) Many thanks for an advise! Best regards, Alexander
  10. It can be quite common to the get the error The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect when trying to install our apps. This error is normally caused by a corrupted download and can be resolved by re-downloading the .exe again. If you get the issues again after re-downloading, please try downloading the .exe using a different browser. When I downloaded a set of brushes in Photo 1.9.0.932 via the new ‘account window’ (not sure of the proper name), the application told me that there was already an existing set and it would be renamed, which was fine. However, I now have two categories, one called “Inksy Street Art 2” and one is called “Inksy Street Art 2 – Custom Brushes”. Which is the original version – which I want to remove – and which is the newly downloaded ‘fresh’ version? (I’ve had a look in the Help but I can’t see anything about this.) (I did some searches in the forums but couldn’t find anything here either, but didn’t do an extensive search.) (This is on Windows 10, in case that matters.)
  12. Good morning, I have tried to install the new version of Affinity Photo (1.7.1.). Unfortunately, the only option / button I get is "Update" (see screenshot) although I cannot find any Affinity Photo software, version, etc on the computer. As soon as I click "Update", another window pops up, saying that there is an "Invalid Path". I cannot install the programm. I have changed a hard disk about a year ago due to technical issues but have uninstalled all old software. How can I do a new, fresh, clean installation? Thanks in advance for any advices!!!

  14. H.e.l.p.! i use windows 10 Home Edition. Just purchased Publisher, downloaded and ran .exe - successfully - that's the final message. This is what i get after starting the programme and .... no further. I restarted the computer but no change. Any idea how to solve this please?

  17. I just bought, downloaded and installed Affinity Designer on my 2018 Samsung Notebook 9 (Win10 i7 with Intel HD620 graphics). On launch, the splash window appears quickly overlayed by a blank white window - I assume this is the welcome/activation window, but the window is completely blank so I cannot proceed. I reinstalled the product (twice) and retried launch/run - no luck. Windows and graphics card drivers are up to date. Basically, I can't launch/run the program ... I'm stuck. I couldn't find a mention of this problem on the Affinity forums therefore I'm posting this issue here. Please advise. Thanks, Mark
  18. I have been having difficulty in updating Publisher - always getting 'Setup Failed' ..... Following advice I have uninstalled Publisher and tried to reinstall. It is still failing - now I have no Publisher at all ... disaster .... please help.
  19. I just purchased Affinity Designer. It seems that it only partially downloaded, there's no .exe file. Further, I did not receive a receipt / confirmation of purchase, nor activation number. Just a total fail. Mac OS 10.14.6. Can you help? Thank you, Missy
  20. I downloaded a newer update I was notified of and every time I tried, it fails. I uninstalled completely the older, WORKING, version of both Designer and Photo, and both keep failing install. I deleted the updated exe files, downloaded them again, still failing to install. I'm getting very frustrated because I just want to use my programs and design something already! Any help is very much appreciated! Thank you.
  21. I have a small question regarding the install method used for Affinity Photo. I noticed it's available though the Microsoft store on Windows 10, and I'm considering a purchase soon. I'm wondering, however, if I would be able to later install the software though the download process on a different computer (still windows), but not through the Microsoft store.   24. I'm posting this should anyone face the same issue of the installer failing due to being unable to access the \Affinity\Photo folder. When upgrading to 1.7.0.367 and again just now to 1.7.1.404 the installation failed because even I, as a windows 10 administrator, could not access (view contents or delete) the \Affinity\Photo folder. I could not take control of the folder and the first time spent a few hours finding what appeared to be an operating system issue and found an unexpected solution: by sharing the \Affinity\ folder as owner and rebooting, I could delete both folders and successfully install Photo. (note: this has been the only folder group I have ever had this issue with as far back as Windows1.1 ;-)
  25. Latest version of Affinity designer installation keeps failing. Only one topic here addresses such similar case, in which a solution is to do a clean reboot. Wich won't cut it, in my case. As I attempt installation, by pressing "update" in the setup/installation-wizard window. It will say "preparing" and some loading bar will fill up real quick, when full or almost full, it'll simply & plainly display a "failed" in the window. This happens when I try and install the latest version, I already have affinity designer installed. Is that mabey the problem? I just don't want to find myself in a situation where I have uninstalled affinity designer and still it won't work...like me if it won't ha ha. I'm running it in Windows 8.1
