  1. Is a Huion Kamvas 16 Pro graphics tablet/screen compatible with AF Photo and Designer on iMac? Any problems? Any advice? Thanks, Ken Shannon
  2. I'm using a trial version of Photo 2 before deciding to replace Photoshop on my iMac, and I'm concerned by the fact that it's periodically crashing my computer without any warning or consistency. (FWIW, I have the same problem with Photoshop, which seems to indicate that it might be related to my computer or OS rather than the application.) Here are the specs for my computer: 2020 27" Retina 5K iMac running iOS 13.3.1 (latest version of Ventura); 3.6 GHz 10 Core Intel Core i9 processor; 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 RAM; AMD Radeon Pro 5500XT w/8 GB. Photo settings: Hardware acceleration checked; use only integrated GPU unchecked; undo limit: 1025; RAM usage limit: 65GB; no Photoshop plugins; Retina rendering: automatic I don't have a crash report to share but if you need it, I'll update this topic the next time it happens. Any insights as to why this might be happening will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  3. What are your best ideas for making the Apple desktop version of Designer V2 easier to see? Running Ventura 13.1 OS. Thank you in advance!
  4. What are the system requirements to run V2 of all three Affinity apps on an iMac and iPad? I've searched through the Affinity/Serif website and have not found any mention of system requirements. I would like to purchase a Universal License for the upgrade, but I want to be sure the apps will work on my devices before I spend the money. Thanks for the help, Paul
  5. I recently updated my M1 iMac to Ventura OS 13.0 On two occasions I have not been able to save afphoto files, either after RAW conversion, or after editing. I am advised to close the file. If it is a RAW conversion then I have to reprocess the RAW file but again, I cannot save an .afphoto file. Initially I thought that perhaps the RAW file was corrupted. Today I went to reprocess an existing .afphoto file for printing on a different paper and the same thing happened. I closed it and on reopening I was advised that a recovery file was available. I opened that, made adjustments but on trying to save it I had the same problem. This is the first time I have encountered this problem in six years of using Affinity Photo. I am assuming it has something to do with the Ventura update as that is the only change I have made. I store, recover and save my photo files to an external 2Tb Samsung T5 SSD which I have found fast and reliable. Exporting processed RAW conversions as a JPEG works, but I like to have the .afphoto file as a reference. I have enclosed screenshots of the error messages. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.
  6. Hello, I new to Affinity Designer. I’m trying to print something from Affinity Designer. I own a Canon TS6350 and I’m on a iMac 24 M1. The problem is that I can’t choose the rear paper tray from Affinity Designer. The option appears for me with no problem in all other apps, but not here. Can anyone help me on this one? Thank you so much. Regards,
  7. Have been using Serif/Affinity software for many years and have no problems with the PC versions. But it's time to upgrade hardware and I'm considering the new M1 Mac. It is available with 8gb RAM or 16gb for extra charge. Has anyone had any experience with Affinity on the new Mac and can recommend if the extra memory is worth the extra cost? The conventional thinking for PCs is that more RAM is always better, but the Apple IOS is supposed to be a lot more efficient than Windows. Any advice appreciated!
  8. Suddenly having some freezing issues on iMac, Big Sur (I have to force quit often). I am not sure it's actually Affinity as I am having some problems with Finder/indexing which led to me reinstalling the OS then recovering everything from a backup. So, I am not getting any crash reports but I do have some Diagnostic Reports. Would that help someone at Affinity with my problem. Other suggestions? -Thanks
  9. Hi there, In the Export persona, is there a way to include a specific layer for one slice only (between various other slices)? So far I know I can exclude a specific layer/group of layers for all slices by unchecking the eye mark. But I want to do like the opposite. For example: I have a usual project file with the original image, various changes in multiple layers and groups. On top of that is a soft-proof profile placed as well as some smaller tweaks for printing. Now if I export those image I want copys for the digital media without those printing tweaks, so I simply uncheck those. But for printing I want a dedicated filename_print.tiff with those printing tweaks applied on top. I know I can go the long road and do two exports but that somewhat defies the logic behind the export persona. And if I try to create a slice from a selection of layers it creates one slice per layer which obviously also isn't what I want.
  10. If I bought Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer for my iMac and Im going to buy macbook air can I download Affinity Photo & Designer on the new macbook without buying new codes?
  11. Hi, Mine is a tale of woe with a new Mac. It has now had its logic board replaced but when I turned it on I got a "Your Mac has run into a problem" message with a dump report. In the logs there were three reports all from the same time. Two were "proactive event trackers" but the third related to Affinity Publisher. I didn't think Publisher was running at the time. The code is below. Does it mean anything to anyone, please? Regards W —- crash-103018.txt
  12. I'm upgrading my current mid 2010 iMac to a current model with 6 cores, 16 GB ram, and 2 TB fusion disk. I've cloned my current installed software and apps using Apple TimeMachine and will use the resulting file to transfer apps and data from old to new computers. Before my "Affinity Days" I did this when replacing an HDD on my current Mac, worked very smoothly. I read that the latest version of Affinity Photo--installed on my current machine--supports multiple cores. My question: Once installed on my new Mac by the transfer, will the upgraded version of Affinity Photo recognized the multiple cores and use them? Or, do I need to re-download an upgrade package from Serif? I'd appreciate your comments / advice. Paul
  13. Please, what is going wrong that I can't use anymore the extension in Photos IMac Catalina? After Catalina was installed Photos doesn't accept the edit made by Affinity extension. We need an update from Affinity to be in accordance with Catalina!!!
  14. Hello, After many years of faithful service my iMac has died. I want to buy a new one but was wondering if anyone had any info or thoughts on which options to choose for best results with Affinity Photo. I know that I'll need to upgrade the RAM but will 16GB be enough or should I stretch to 32GB? Mostly I'm confused as to how much difference going for the faster CPUs would make. I know this will ultimately fall down to my budget but what I'm asking is how much difference upgrading the CPU / RAM will make when just doing basic adjustments. I'm also conscious of the fact that I will be upgrading my camera at some point and the file sizes being much larger in future.
  15. Hello Serif Staff, I am currently looking into purchasing a new desktop computer, more specifically an iMac 21.5 inch With Retina 4k Display. My question goes as follows before I make a purchase: What iOS version does the Affinity suite (Photo, Designer and Publisher) require to run on an Apple machine? Is the Affinity suite compatible with Mac Pro "Six Core" 3.5 (Late 2013)3.5 GHz 6 Core Xeon E5-1650v2? Will the Affinity suite upgrades be compatible with a Mac Pro "Six Core" 3.5 (Late 2013)3.5 GHz 6 Core Xeon E5-1650v2? What specifications do I need to know before I settle on a permanent purchase? I have ruled any Windows software out of the equation for my investment, and as soon as I have an answer, I plan on purchasing all three desktop in one go. I currently run the mobile app on an iPad (6th Gen). Thank you for your responses.
  16. I currently have Affinity Photo installed on my iMac which is past it's best, so I have just ordered a new iMac which will be delivered at the end of next week. How do I transfer the application and my existing licence from my current iMac to my new machine? Also how do I find out what my licence code is?
  17. Input please: As a photographer I’ve been using Lightroom on my (now outdated) iPad for years, and used my wife’s Macbook Pro when I needed features, not available on my iPad (photoshop). I don’t really like Lightroom, I’m intrigued by Affinity Photo, and I need new hardware - so here’s my dilemma: Is there any difference in performance/possibilities/features/flexibility using Affinity Photo on an iPad Pro, or an iMac? Because that might decide my hardware choice (I really like my iPad cuz I travel a LOT, but the output and flexibility is far more important). I hope this makes sense! Thanks in advance for any help!
  18. Affinity Photo 7 - Upgraded to 7 in Mojave. Now how do I transfer all my styles and cropping setting. It's a shame that this isn't considered when upgrading the Photo software.
  19. I have a line drawing on 20 x 26 page in Affinity Designer, saved as a .pdf. I need to have it print out as tiled image on multiple letter size paper. I'm only able to print the upper left corner of the document... How to get the remaining parts of the drawing?
  20. I had to force quit AP 1.7 for not responding. It just would not load. When I hit Command + Tab the AP icon was shown with Finder. BUT in the dock, I had no indication that AP 1.7 was even running. Once I rebooted, I had no problems it fired right up. Mid2010 iMac High Sierra 10.13.6
  21. 23. Hi there, I am absolutely new here and hopefully you are not bored hearing my concerns. My wife‘s got a Macbook Pro 13“, 8GB, SSD, i5, early 2015 and workes with latest version of affinity. When loading more than 7 RAW files, nothing goes on and system hangs up. Due to the fact, that this MacBook is proberly not one of the most perfomance, she bouht an iMac Retina 5K, 27“, i5 3,5GHz, 8GB RAM an 1TB Fusion Drive, late 2017. First perception: Loading pics in RAW is about twice as fast as the MacBook when loading between 1 and 6 pics (5 pics: 20seconds vs 40 seconds). But the disappointment follows immediately: When loading more than 6 pics (i.e. 10 or 14), than the iMac also hangs up. That seems to be the same on MacBook and iMac. So, what is going on? Do we need more RAM, i.e additional 32GB? Need your advice !! I don‘t think, that a much more performance machine would help, i.e i7 am 64GB mit 1TB SSD. That would be the most performance iMac. To pre-answer your questions, why she needs so many pics parallel at the same time: she wants to use it as a picture browser to choose, which of the pics is worth to work on. I think, there must be another way to do so. Is there a picture browser embedded to affinity? So, hope to hear from you soon. Thanks in advance. Stefan
  25.
