Downloaded the 1.7 update last night and had a quick play, really liking the new feature additions. Some of them might've been handy for this project I've been working on recently, ah well:)
  2. Illustration and Logo for a Guitar internet tutorials.

  4. This is an image I colored using Affinity Designer on the iPad. I love all the quick masking I can do without having to juggle and edit clipping masks, like in Illustrator. I created the raster line art in Medibang Paint for iPad; traced the art using Inscape; and finished the art in Designer, including making the BG pattern. I still have to tweak the BG print to fill a couple holes, but I really enjoy working in Designer to add the Pizzazz! If you are interested in the tracing presets I use in Inkscape to create a close-to-perfect trace, let me know and I'll post it here. For anyone who is interested, years ago I did a comparison between using Inkscape and Illustrator. http://www.segtsy.com/2012/04/adobe-illustrator-live-trace-vs-inkscape-trace-bitmap/ Here's a step-by-step for Inkscape. I have adjusted my settings since this post. http://www.segtsy.com/2012/04/bitmap-tracing-live-trace-with-inkscape/

  6. Once again I thought I would share something produced on AD using my iPad and iMac combo. This sequence is for an article about how delivering information isn't enough - it's what the student does with it that provides the best indication of what was learnt. Anyways.
  7. Hello All, I have a rather unusual request and hope that no one is upset by my posting it on this Forum. I write short stories and get them illustrated via posting commissions. One story I want illustrated is particularly suited to being illustrated in a digital art form but my usual postings have not generated any interest form digital artists. I am wondering if anyone on this Forum is, or knows of, an artist who might be interested in a paid commission to illustrate a short story. If so, I would be happy to hear from them so that we might continue discussions directly, off the Forum. Sincerely, Robin
  8. Hello, friends. Tonight I could not sleep and I decided to draw something for the soul. This is what I did, Affinity DesignPad. I would be grateful for the support on Dribbble
  9. I have been a fan of Moby for many years, I like his melancholic style. The song "Harbour" reads: "My heart is full, my heart is wide". I thought about how big a heart can be. No idea. But when it's big, it should be filled with love rather than hate. https://www.bodobe.de/full-heart/

Please let me know if you have any feedback or advice to improve Thanks! Speedpaint video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKx1FbRYjZg

  16. Affinity You Rock!!! This is my vector illustration of a painting I did almost 20 years ago, (I can’t take credit for the original work as that was copied from a magazine). I also did a photoshop version some years ago for a competition on worth1000 (anyone remember that?) I've tried to do something different and use more of designers tool’s than I did with the car in my 1st go. Hope you like it. cheers

  18. Hello everyone! This is my first shot for dribbble. Work done in 1.7 beta. The isometric tools in the new version of Affinity Designer 1.7 is a bomb!!! https://dribbble.com/shots/5691827-Hello-Dribbble
  19. I've looked through the forums for existing questions on the shape builder tool and it seem like it's yet to be implemented. I'm stuck on building something and I'll like a help with the best approach to go about it in affinity designer. The red circles in the attached image indicate parts that I want to subtract from the thick black circles. But unlike regular subtraction, I don't want those ends taking the shape of the subtracted shape. I want something like the behavior of shape builder where I completely erase those red circle areas
  20. So i finally finished my first test using Affinity + Wacom + DAUB Brushes; Mixing something like 10 brushes and 20 layers and 1 paper asset, the results are pretty expressive and it's possible to make a incredible ink effect as in a real paint and canvas; complete here:
