  1. A chart demonstrating how "relative" IQ has changed over the last century - made in Photo using just the Pen tool with fills and strokes. Another demonstration of just how versatile Photo is.
  2. Hi everyone! My name is Matias, I´m a graphic designer who fell in love with Affinity! I use it in my everyday work and also for some illustrations as a way to improve my drawing skills. I´ll try my best to keep moving forward. This is an illustration jouney. Come join me!
  3. So i finally finished my first test using Affinity + Wacom + DAUB Brushes; Mixing something like 10 brushes and 20 layers and 1 paper asset, the results are pretty expressive and it's possible to make a incredible ink effect as in a real paint and canvas; complete here:
  4. i am so very tickled with af photo!!!! it's sooo much easier than ps and much more intuitive. everything is where you need it! this is a simple illustration i am working on for a book cover, nothing fancy. i'm just thrilled at how easy it was for me to cut, separate and color! jen
  5. Thanks to Serif I officially pulled the plug on Adobe.
  6. From a bunch of characters I made in 2016. Have a nice day.
  7. Brian nice graphics series!!; A question, since you use the forum as a personal site, why do not you also share AD files with other users? It would be very useful and not just an opportunity to show your work. thanks!
  8. I guess I started that one on the iPad as a sketch and finished it in Photo on the desktop. I turned the outlines of the sketch into filled vector shapes first, only to rasterise them for shading with loose, light and mostly pretty big brushstrokes. For the finish I added a subtle vignette and also loosened the silhouette edges that are further away from the center.
  9. I've been fooling around with this idea of a legged oven for some time. It started as an unremarkable sketch for Inktober, but I liked the idea and am bringing it further. I am doing some moods and concept sketches in AD/AP, which might end up as guides for a 3D scene.
  10. Editorial Illustration I made for the newspaper I am working at. The topic was "Disruption". In a business context, disruptive forces remain long time unseen, but gain power out of sight and suddenly break loose, tearing apart the established structures. I used Photo for this one.
  11. These are illustrations I made for the newspaper I am working at. Topic was "Security in Austria and across the World" I used Designer on the iPad as well as Photo on Windows for the creation of those. The universal file format helped me a lot switching between platforms effortlessly.
  12. Once again I thought I would share something produced on AD using my iPad and iMac combo. This sequence is for an article about how delivering information isn't enough - it's what the student does with it that provides the best indication of what was learnt. Anyways.
  13. Jut a first attempt using some of your elements…
  14. Hey Guys! This is my first attempt to apply affinity designer into my digital Illustration. I totally loved it. You can check out the full Illustration at Crypto black hole Let me know what you think cheers!
  15. I am trying to explore AD and the result is I hope you like it. Dribbble ^ Google+ ^ Linked | In
  16. My first piece of work done entirely on iPad. Absolute game changer, thanks for all your efforts Serif. It was worth it. (Hi-res of this will end up on instagram later, once I’ve worked out how to reformat for square on iPad)
  17. Hi everyone, here is my latest illustration made in Affinity Designer for iPad. Connect with me on Dribbble if you are Dribbbler: https://dribbble.com/shots/4859882-YOLO Thanks for your time!!
  18. My Smashing Magazine article was out last Wednesday, coinciding with the presentation of the new tools Serif showcased at the first Affinity Live: Affinity Designer for iPad and Affinity Publisher. I had the honour and luck to be there with them and to be sponsored to create this detailed tutorial: "How To Create A Flat Vector Illustration In Affinity Designer." If you want to learn how to create this, check it out, and please, whatever your questions, ask there in the comments section on the article itself. Thanks! PS - Source file is provided for you all to explore Here the link: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2018/07/flat-vector-illustration-affinity-designer/#top Cheers all and hope you enjoy it.
  19. I’ve been using Photo for some time as my primary illustration and drawing tool. I always felt that the brush engine was not top notch, but I kept going because of the completeness and power of the app. I bought Designer for iPad right after it was published and was positively surprised that the brush engine for the pixel persona felt snappier than the one in Photo. I would like to assume that this upgraded experience is coming to Photo, too I would also love to see a much improved brush speed on the desktop. It is strange, but brush strokes feel most sluggish on my Windows workstation, though in theory it should be up to four times faster - according to geekbench comparisons between the A10x and a Xeon E5-2680 v2. Affinity tells me that the brush engine is CPU bound, so I hope it can tap into all cores for best speed.
  20. I haven't posted much here recently but thought I'd show a few things I've done in AD over the last couple o' months.
  21. First time posting here! I've been using AD for almost a year, and it's now my go-to for pretty much all of my graphic work. Here's a piece I recently whipped up that's part of a sci-fi series I'm working on. Obviously, it's inspired by old propaganda posters. That, and a heavy dose of Ray Bradbury.
  22. Hi guys, I've recently completed this new artwork using all vectors. The challenge had been to avoid 3D modelling while reaching a similar effect with the power of lights inside Affinity Designer. I used Affinity Photo only to apply the light effect on the in-graphics vintage poster, simulating a rudimental light from up left corner. Hope you appreciate.
