  2. My new series is on the way, I am trying sci-fi style illustration in this series. October is little bit busy. So sad.
  3. Hello designers, since autumn is here, it's time we change our desktop background. And in order to be up to date with the current season I present to you an Autumn Background that you can easily make in Affinity Designer:
  4. Hi Affinity Community. My new personal work made with Affinity Designer. I hope you like it. More work in progress pictures: Old Wings
  5. Since weekend is about to start everyone loves a great movie time. And what can be better than a bucket of chips and a good dip sauce along the road. Let me know what do you prefer: sour cream dip sauce or hot chili dip sauce? You can also see the clip in the bellow link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QN5aVQ4Y4E
  6. Hey Guys! I've been exploring affinity designer both on my mac and now on iPad, and guess what! I'm just loving it. Here is my recent work that I was exploring in order to create a new illustration style I named Flexi it looks. I hope you like it. https://dribbble.com/shots/7229199-Flexi-Illustration-Style-Hero-V-1-0
  7. Hi, I've recently switched over from Adobe Flash to Affinity D. And I'm really digging the whole experience so far . Before doing iso stuff in Fash was a real chore. But with AD's speedy zooms and new isometric tool it's so much easier and faster (plus all the lines are clean!). Here's a few icons I've been working on in case anyone might be interested. Cheers, Rob.
  8. Welcome to my second post on this beautiful community. Since the first post was all about pizza, I though it's time to enjoy the sweet taste of wine: You can also check the tutorial video here:
  9. This might be a stupid question, but then again I was taught that there are no stupid questions... So, I am teaching myself illustrating. I have started to do so in Affinity Designer, but lately I've come across multiple artists using Affinity Photo for it and I just don't understand why/ how?!? Isn't Photo just for photo editing? How does one do illustration work in it? Is it better for that purpose than Designer? Can someone please enlighten me? Thanks in advance.
  10. I have been known that Chongqing is a city with a lot of fantasic views. But untill I have seen Zhu Wenqiao's nice shots of Chongqing city, I finally make determine to create something about this city. This is the first one in this series.
  11. Affinity community, I currently use your vector program and I have had performance problems, that is, it is constantly in a state of shock and sometimes it closes completely, it bothers me a bit. I use Windows and the specifications of my computer are not bad; 16 GB of RAM, Nvidia graphics, disc SSD, so my only conclusion is that the root problem with the software. I would love to know how I can resolve or if there will be updates to correct soon.
  12. I call this "Dream in a Bottle." Wanted to practice on surrealism, shading and lighting and get the feel of the new "edit in photo/designer" feature, passing back and forth between AD and AP. The feature is so nice but I did find a bonafide bug. After several passes back and forth between AD and AP, the files start to corrupt and the UI and the thumbnail windows of the layers panel start doing weird things like vector shapes turn into Text icons, etc. I can reproduce this problematic bug every time after about 5 or 6 bounces back and forth.
  13. Observed in Peckham, drawn in AD on my iPad and then animated in After Effects.
  14. Tinkering during a slow work week. Inspired by the rain hammering against my office window.
  15. Hello Affiniteers! I am a long-time Illustrator user and now a recent convert to Affinity Designer and wanted to share what I've made with AD. I saw the sale that was going on about a month ago and decided to pull the trigger. Glad I did as Affinity Designer is a very well-oiled machine that already offers a robust set of features that have been brilliantly thought out and has immense potential for further features. Well done team Serif! One of the features that I was most interested in when I purchased AD was the isometric grid and its features. I started out with a simple project: The NES controller. It's just a cube at the end of the day so I figured it'd make for a great first project. The tools are pretty self-explanatory if you are familiar with other design software and everything felt incredibly intuitive. Anywho, I have a habit of droning on and on when I'm excited about something and Affinity Designer definitely inspires that side of me. So without any further ado, please enjoy some of my work. I hope you enjoy my work! I plan to keep on making more isometric controllers for the time being, with a Gamecube controller being the next piece. Like my work? Check out my Dribbble account where you can see more: https://dribbble.com/b_houtz I also just joined this hip new thing called "Instagram" recently in 2019 and if you're looking for an account to follow (hah) I would be honored to have you join me: https://www.instagram.com/sly_hound/ On some of these controller posts, I have thoughts on Affinity Designer for those who are interested in such things. Thanks!
  16. Hi guys! First off, I'm coming from an art background, so you see where my ideas are coming from and what I do with AP. You did an amazing job with the recent updates of the brush engine in Affinity Photo, I really like to play with it and the performance got much better for painting. My 2 cents: could you give the color picker (alt key when you use the brush tools) a little bit more thought? There is always a 1 second delay and it makes working slower than any other painting software I used so far. Also, the "magnifying glass effect" (for a lack of a better word) should be optional. Can't really imagine why I'd want to have that. The scrubby zoom could benefit from an option to not snap on 50% and 100%. Super useful often times but in some cases it may be better to turn it off. I know, Painting is not the main focus of the application, but it could become a real alternative for Illustrators and concept artists if small things like this would be solved. Look at how many painters are out there, just check ArtStation.com for example. Thank you Best wishes Flo
  17. hey guys, New video released on my youtube channel! Using Pen Tool on Affinity Designer, if you like contents like this, let a support by subscribing and sharing, thanks for watching Cheers, Jhon
  18. Hi all, haven’t done much lately, but since 1.7 update I’m motivated again ‘Is anyone else finding designer sluggish since the update?
  19. Hey there, It's always a pleasure to share with the Affinity's community how I design my pieces to make the games. regards, Jhonatan
  20. Sundays are always good for experimentation and blowing off some creative steam, without client deadlines and briefs. So for this Sunday I created a poster for one of my favorite Electronic Music producers: Chicane. Chicane has released a few albums that have been my creative companions for many many years ad I always go back to them when inspiration is needed. Here you can see the poster and some screenshots with details. Got any questions? Let me know. I would be more than happy to answer them Cheers from Greece Stratos.
  21. Follow this link to see a video that demonstrates this sugggested feature visually. This would be a brush feature adjustment that is a bit more “free” and intuitive than our current ability to adjusted vector lines with the pressure curve. This tool would allow us to grab our vector lines and push and pull them from any point on the individual vector without affecting any of the other vectors in the document. After seeing Kyle Webster working in this way in Adobe Animate, I thought, “Surely we could have a tool like this in Designer that could be even better.”
  22. Downloaded the 1.7 update last night and had a quick play, really liking the new feature additions. Some of them might've been handy for this project I've been working on recently, ah well:)
  23. Illustration and Logo for a Guitar internet tutorials.
  24. Something I’ve been putting together between other projects. Prints available (probably)
  25. This is an image I colored using Affinity Designer on the iPad. I love all the quick masking I can do without having to juggle and edit clipping masks, like in Illustrator. I created the raster line art in Medibang Paint for iPad; traced the art using Inscape; and finished the art in Designer, including making the BG pattern. I still have to tweak the BG print to fill a couple holes, but I really enjoy working in Designer to add the Pizzazz! If you are interested in the tracing presets I use in Inkscape to create a close-to-perfect trace, let me know and I'll post it here. For anyone who is interested, years ago I did a comparison between using Inkscape and Illustrator. http://www.segtsy.com/2012/04/adobe-illustrator-live-trace-vs-inkscape-trace-bitmap/ Here's a step-by-step for Inkscape. I have adjusted my settings since this post. http://www.segtsy.com/2012/04/bitmap-tracing-live-trace-with-inkscape/
