  1. Hey guys! i coloured a doodle in Affinity photo using my wacom and thought it would be cool to share! You can have a look at the process here: http://www.behance.net/gallery/49651381/Acne Thank you! :D
  2. Hello everyone, I've created a Skillshare Class using Affinity Designer, called "Illustration from Pencil to Vector!". I'm planning on creating more classes with this great software, that I now use on a daily basis as a graphic designer. My class features the creation of a character, from the pencil and paper, to the fast vector tracing and coloring in Affinity. Please check it! Thanks! http://skl.sh/2kwCcXx
  3. Hey guys! Just wanted to share a little character I made for fun with Designer using some of my texture brushes. Any comment will be more than welcome as always! Cheers!
  4. Hi All, I used Affinity Designer, from start to finish to make this huge illustration for the upcoming event of a Belgian union (ACV), the text reads "equality makes the difference". Designer worked great on this one (Isometric grids! Infinite zoom! Global Colors!) and I plan on using it way more often for client work. Keep up the good work!
  5. Hello guys! 6. Hi, does anyone know how to do this in Affinity Photo, where you sketch manually with red pencil, draw the final strokes in black, scan the drawing, then disable / erase the red sketch by playing with the red channel? Thanks for sharing.
  7. Hi there everyone :) I am very happy to have completed a winter illustration entirely in Affinity Designer using a Wacom Cintiq Pro 13. I have been experimenting with Designer in my spare time in order to try out a few ideas combining vectors with texture brushes. This one was done in designer 1.5 and I have to say it has treated me very well as I progressed towards making the piece work as a whole. I do quite like clean shapes with a painterly/texured feel to them, and so with this one I feel that I am moving in the right direction at last. The project was sketched out from scratch and colour completed in Designer with a resolution of 5500x5500px. My main takeaway I belive was to be patient util I could start getting a good feel for the paint performance in relation to zoom level. Also, being able to customise and set up custom brushes for my liking and to match previous experience for a more traditional illustrative approach. For brushes I started out with the Daub concept brushes pack but ended up picking them appart and to set up my own in the end :) It would be great to hear about your experiences and feedback in general towards using affinity designer in illustration based workflow :)
  8. I decided to create visual journal to keep things organized. Due to work, i won't be able to post regularly. But i will try to keep things organized here. You can check out my Dribbble account to see my work. I haven't started posting work on Dribbble using AD yet as i got the software for 2 days only. But i would soon. You can also checkout out my DeviantArt account where i upload the source file of the design if you are interested in downloading the files and examining.

  10. Hello everybody! This is my latest illustration in Affinity Designer using Frankentoon's newest brush pack: Texturizer Pro hope you dig! :)
  11. Hello everybody! Just wanted to let you know that yesterday Frankentoon released a new brush pack for Affinity Designer called Texturizer Pro. It's a collection of more than 50 texture brushes for being used in Pixel Persona. The brushes can be mixed together to reproduce a (super) wide range of real-life textures, from very subtle noisy ones to more extreme/destroyed surfaces. You can create super complex and organic looking results super fast and very easily. Here's an illustration I made using the pack (even works for text effects as you can see) I've been working on this pack for the last 6 months. I spent like 4 months collecting textures with my camera, then selected the more suitable for the pack, edited in Affinity Photo and after a month of work within Affinity Designer, they're finally here! Has been a blast to say the least. One of the most fun and exciting experiences in my life! So I hope you can have lots of fun messing around with your art too. You can have fun with this pack too for only: $5.99 Get more info, examples and buying options HERE
  12. I've been looking at some development of a very impressive auto-fill filter for lineart on G'mic and thought it would be something the Affinity devs might be interested in. Basically, it analyses artwork with an algorithm to determine contours and shape closures which can then be filled as a base for painting. It speeds up a monotonous colour blocking step of painting. Not a priority feature at the moment, but I thought it would be an amazing addition for illustrators working with raster imagery. I'm sure affinity could simplify the tool even more for usability. I've posted two videos that demonstrate how it works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-3aBQeuBc4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rl76PJZTuio
  13. Greetings folks. In this thread I will simply be documenting the journey, of things that I create with Affinity. This is not meant to be a thread for tutorial, rather a thread for what can be made with the software. With that on the side, feel free to ask questions if you have, I will be happy to answer. Cheers!
  14. I am not very fond of vectors, but had to try it out to test Designer, that will (probably) be one of my main design programs from now on. Still, I will keep to bitmaps most of the time. Here is my very first, simple, but still, all vector drawn, illustration.
  15. 16. At this point, I can't imagine my daily life without AD. Thank you, guys!
  17. Today's little exercise as I get familiar with working on screen: A spoof birthday card.
  18. As an exercise, I knocked up this illustration. I'm thinking of migrating to a simpler, more easily achievable style of illustration. Up to now, I've been painting everything in acrylics and then digitising the results. I've found AD every bit as good as Illustrator so far. This took me all morning, so I hope to get faster eventually. All the best, Kevin
  19. Hello, guys. i really love cactuses. So i deside to illustrate it, i hope you like it feel free to comment.

First full day free to myself for a while and Ive been using this style in a lot of client work over that last couple of years, so thought Id see what happens if I'm not watching the clock and pack it with shading and detail, really quite please with the outcome. I'm going to add some characters to this next week if I get another free day.
