  1. What Are Joyful Junctions? I'm working on developing a collection of illustrative, colourful artworks, based on visually memorable junctions in and around Scotland. I started with Glasgow, my home town, but have now expanded out to other interesting areas with varying complexity. I'll post some examples of my favourites here, but if you like, you can see the whole collection on my Behance Gallery. Improvements I'd Like to Make / Affinity Designer Questions It's my first time using a real graphic design software suite beyond Powerpoint, but it's a testament to the developers that Affinity is so easy to get used to. That being said, I was wondering if there's a way to have a curve follow the same curvature as another. For example, when I have one road running parallel to another for some section, and want to maintain a uniform distance between the curves for the duration of that section. If this tool exists in the program, please do let me know!
  2. Hi all I bring a time-lapse more than a tutorial for this week. However, I explain how to slow it down so you can follow along if interested. You can also ask me how I did this or that, as usual. Kiss!
  3. Movies logo in plain style as a testing Affinity Designer... Welcome for your comments Forrest Gump Terminator 2: Judgment Day Total Recall Cast Away Matrix It Up
  4. Hi Affinity Community. I would like to share my first work made with Affinity Photo. I hope you like it. More work in progress pictures: Old Wheels on Behance
  5. All made Affinity. Me on my computer, Affinity Designer Workbook next to me, on my laptop. + I love creating the backside with the mirror function in Designer!
  6. My question is, where does he keep his phone?
  7. 1. The Most marketplace is requesting .ai file format, is it possible to export file format to .ai? I hope marketplace slowly can accept .afdesign next. 2. Is it possible to shorten the file format? maybe .ad .afd .afde or other shorther formats. it is just my thinking, may be a further development material. Thank You
  8. Almost fun to create this one if it wasn't for some program bugs and refreshing issues. Is anyone else out there having problems with slow refresh rates on their mac? I have some FXs going on but I can't imaging it would slow things down so much.
  9. I have just posted my design on JF-17 Thunder Fighter Aircraft that i had been working on for a while on Behance. Affinity Designer Community is a vibrant and exciting one and i just need your feedback and critique to get even better. Here is the link for that: https://www.behance.net/gallery/55591161/JF-17-Thunder
  10. New work. This started out as just the head and it grew. I used this one to play with text -I just loved the way I could get right in and adjust the scripty word, 'Tae' until I was happy. Vector plus textures and a little work in Pixel mode. Anyway, I hope you like it. And do go to Scotland to see the famous 'Tobermory Floaties'.
  11. A reworking of another old illustration image in AD. Turns out I did the whole thing in CMYK and had to convert to RGB for web display at the end. I tried converting the AD file to RGB and it looked horrible (the colours suddenly looked too bright and unsubtle), so I didn't save it. It worked better when I converted the finished JPEB in AP. Would that be the proper way to convert?
  12. I did an illustration in acrylics more than twenty years ago and just decided to recreate it as a vector image. It took me half the time to make it. I'm thoroughly convinced! Kevin
  13. Hi guys, Illustration from a summer screenprint serie. Half Affinity Designer, half Photo. The capture was made afterward, rolling the saved history backward (neat function!). Best, P. > Video Making-of Final

  15. Here is my first attempt at a self portrait using Affinity Photo on the iPad Pro with Pencil. Still needs some perfecting! It's such a great combination and will allow me to progress and experiment a whole lot more.
  16. Hello there! I want to share with all this nice community the latest Frankentoon's Franken-Pack: Pattern Painter. Pattern Painter is a cool collection of raster/pixel brushes that can be used either on Designer or Photo... and even cooler, you can use 'em on Photo for iPad :) I've always liked the idea of painting with patterns, even with software that allows to use pattern fills. I don't know, but I love the experimental and 'crafty' feel that is the joy of brushing in seamless shapes on your canvas. You can combine them, change colors on the fly, layer 'em up for some cool effects... If you want to know more, click HERE to get more info... (I've created a super fancy and colorful info page for you guys :D ) Hope you all like this pack!
  17. Hey guys, just want to gather some experiences from people who might be using this software as a substitute for Photoshop on the go digital painting wise...and an idea on if it's worth the investment or not. since the release of the iPad Pro version i have been constantly looking through sites and forums for peoples experiences and the usual outcome is critical praise along the lines of a great substitute for PS but usually based off of the perspective from someone who used it with editing photos and not so much with illustration & painting. Basically my Cintiq is down and much of my work has fallen onto the iPad pro i'm not too interested in Astropad and i do have Mediabang and Procreate but both are always lacking many functions i love from using Photoshop i love concept art, texturing, sprite-work and animating so i'd absolutely love anyone else's input on personal experiences before i make the jump. Thanks! :)
  18. Hi all, a recent tutorial I did for Envatotutsplus on Affinity Designer is out. It's a step by step from start to finish type of tutorial of my basic workflow developing a fun Canine Cowboy character to a cartoony semi-realistic finish. It's an intermediate level tutorial so some knowledge of Designer is required. :-) Check it out at: http://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-create-a-detailed-beer-label-in-affinity-designer--cms-26010 Also checkout the attached image here for a preview of the final image. Have fun! Retrograde (aka Kevin Creative)

  21. Hey all, here's my latest all vector Designer character. A fun, cheeky and a little "nutty" cartoon squirrel character created for Nutty Squirrel Games, a client in San Francisco. Also, I decided it was time for a refresh on my Forum avatar. Love working on these types of illos in Designer!!
  22. I decided to create visual journal to keep things organized. Due to work, i won't be able to post regularly. But i will try to keep things organized here. You can check out my Dribbble account to see my work. I haven't started posting work on Dribbble using AD yet as i got the software for 2 days only. But i would soon. You can also checkout out my DeviantArt account where i upload the source file of the design if you are interested in downloading the files and examining.
