  2. Hey I'm new on Affinity, I used to work on Adobe. I'm not an english native speaker so I hope my explainations are clear... I used to draw on Illustrator. In this software when you draw a shape with the pencil tool, then you can select it and draw "over" the line to refine it, or extend it. In affinity designer if I draw a curve with the pencil tool above an other curve it creates a new curve, it doesn't change the old one... I don't know if you see what I mean... Is there an option to change that ? Thank you!
  3. Hello all, I recently started to get back into illustration after some years; I gave it up to study software development. I will update this thread from time-to-time. I would really appreciate some feedback. (No need to be soft on me) This is based off a photo:
  4. Hello Affinity fans Today I drawn flamingos, interesting long-legged birds. I have made not use of textures, patterns, pixel layers or brushes, I just wanted a very simple illustration, just shapes, pen and gradients. Give a look at the illustration, drawn in Affinity Designer and tell me what do you think, leave your feed backs, write positive and negative The full project here on behance
  5. Hello Affinity Community ! My name is Calvin and i'm a hobbyist graphic artist and photographer from Texas. I've been using Affinity Photo and Designer a couple years now and it changed a lot for me to be able to do things easily, and get my ideas on the software SO MUCH easier than other programs. Here's some pictures from a series of images I've been working on to express myself through digital media. Hope you like it !
  6. Hi all, here are some of my work for Bulgarian Libertarian Society https://goo.gl/CNq74y all done with Affinity Photo and Designer. Images in colages are from pixabay.com.

  8. Practicing with @Frankentoon's comic book brushes and color and gradient swatches, so decided to start with something simple. Funny how when you try something you realize how much more you have to learn about it. Gotta work on those line weights...

  10. This morning's random posting. The devil is making work for some very idle hands at the moment. Still – back to the paid work on Monday.
  11. I dunno where these guys came from, but I wouldn't mess with them if I were you. Especially her on the right.
  12. Hi all I bring a time-lapse more than a tutorial for this week. However, I explain how to slow it down so you can follow along if interested. You can also ask me how I did this or that, as usual. Kiss!

  16. What Are Joyful Junctions? I'm working on developing a collection of illustrative, colourful artworks, based on visually memorable junctions in and around Scotland. I started with Glasgow, my home town, but have now expanded out to other interesting areas with varying complexity. I'll post some examples of my favourites here, but if you like, you can see the whole collection on my Behance Gallery. Improvements I'd Like to Make / Affinity Designer Questions It's my first time using a real graphic design software suite beyond Powerpoint, but it's a testament to the developers that Affinity is so easy to get used to. That being said, I was wondering if there's a way to have a curve follow the same curvature as another. For example, when I have one road running parallel to another for some section, and want to maintain a uniform distance between the curves for the duration of that section. If this tool exists in the program, please do let me know!
  17. My question is, where does he keep his phone?
  18. All made Affinity. Me on my computer, Affinity Designer Workbook next to me, on my laptop. + I love creating the backside with the mirror function in Designer!
  19. 1. The Most marketplace is requesting .ai file format, is it possible to export file format to .ai? I hope marketplace slowly can accept .afdesign next. 2. Is it possible to shorten the file format? maybe .ad .afd .afde or other shorther formats. it is just my thinking, may be a further development material. Thank You
  20. Almost fun to create this one if it wasn't for some program bugs and refreshing issues. Is anyone else out there having problems with slow refresh rates on their mac? I have some FXs going on but I can't imaging it would slow things down so much.
  21. Hi Affinity Community. I would like to share my first work made with Affinity Photo. I hope you like it. More work in progress pictures: Old Wheels on Behance
  22. A reworking of another old illustration image in AD. Turns out I did the whole thing in CMYK and had to convert to RGB for web display at the end. I tried converting the AD file to RGB and it looked horrible (the colours suddenly looked too bright and unsubtle), so I didn't save it. It worked better when I converted the finished JPEB in AP. Would that be the proper way to convert?
  23. New work. This started out as just the head and it grew. I used this one to play with text -I just loved the way I could get right in and adjust the scripty word, 'Tae' until I was happy. Vector plus textures and a little work in Pixel mode. Anyway, I hope you like it. And do go to Scotland to see the famous 'Tobermory Floaties'.
  24. I did an illustration in acrylics more than twenty years ago and just decided to recreate it as a vector image. It took me half the time to make it. I'm thoroughly convinced! Kevin
