  1. When I try to import a .CR3 file from my Canon 90D to Affinity Photo for iPad, I get the following error ... "Failed to open file .... The file type is not supported". Any ideas on the solution and/or work around until this is supported?? Cheers
  2. My latest work is Affinity Designer and Procreate. I hope you will like it. If you want to watch the entire production process, you can visit my youtube channel.
  3. Howdy, Apologies if this is addressed elsewhere on this forum already, but I wasn't able to find anything. My issue is this: I purchased the "Grave Etcher Brush Pack" from the Affinity Store to use with Affinity Designer for the iPad, but I can't figure out how to install it (using the published instructions for how to install brushes). From within the app I click on the Vector Persona and then from the Brushes Studio I choose "Import Brushes..." from the hamburger button. From what I can tell, Designer opens up a version of Apple's "Files" application, from which I navigate to where I have the .afbrushes file stored (I've tried storing in various locations in Files, including Google Drive and "On My iPad). The file appears but without any "afbrushes" extension. The icon and listing for the file appears grey/gray-colo(u)red, as if Affinity doesn't recognize the file as a legitimate brushes file. I can poke, pinch, and swipe at the brushes file as much as I want, but Affinity Designer + the Files dialog refuse to consume the file. I've tried with other community-created .afbrushes files and get exactly the same behavior. So... how can I import an .afbrushes file into Affinity Designer for the iPad? Any information that I can provide to provide clues as to what is happening? Thanks! Regards, Jim
  4. This image of an oak tree amongst cider apple trees at sunset was used to illustrate some writing at matthewslater.org.uk. It worked quite well, though I had no idea how the finished image would look. My iPad struggled hugely with the complexity of the trees and I had to expand and merge elements to reduce the number of paths and points. In the end it still became painfully slow to edit which was a pity as I could have tightened it up more. I tend to work in cmyk so this might look a little odd when posted as rgb.
  5. Trying to split a shape into 3 piece, would there be any method of resting the binding box?
  6. Hi There, when I try to save a document Affinity Photo crashes many thanks for you help. regards pascal.
  7. Hi! Graphic elements have a lot of extra points after export How do I change the settings in affinity so file has as many points after the export as the source file has in affinity? No bigger.
  9. The new Affinity designer for iPad looks and feels awesome. I would love to see a similar version of the Designer on Windows 10 which uses the full potential of the Windows 10 touch functionalities. A direct copy of the iPad UI could be awesome.
  10. Hi all! So not only do I have a problem importing .abr brushes to Affinity Photo on the iPad, now I can’t even open a photo from Dropbox! I just updated my iPad to iPadOS . I went ahead and updated Affinity Photo itself to the latest version as well. I really loved using my iPad to edit my photos and these bugs are really bumming me out. What should I do? Will there be a fix for this soon? Thank you. Elaine
  11. We are pleased to announce an update for the iPad release of Affinity Photo, version 1.7.3 Changes in this build The changes in Affinity Photo for iPad 1.7.3 (over the last release Affinity Photo 1.7.2) are as follows: Fixes iPadOS compatibility issues. Fix for Chinese and Japanese text input (on iPadOS). Fix for .cube file type not being supported correctly. Fix for problems importing .ABR brushes. Fix for masked adjustment groups drawing incorrectly. Fix for occasional PSD import crash. Miscellaneous text fixes and improvements. Fix for brush angle input occasionally producing an unwanted artefact when used as a dynamic. Fixed import of layered TIFF sporadically failing to load text layers. Keyboard Accelerators CMD + CTRL fixed Help updates. Localization Tweaks Earlier changes and fixes in 1.7.x since 1.6 (including the new 1.7 features) are listed in some detail in the this earlier update announcement. This thread is for commenting on this announcement. Please do not post bugs or problems that you find when using this version of the software in this thread, instead make a new thread in the Photo Bugs on iPad section and questions about usage go in the iPad Questions forum. UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers) The software version can be seen on the corner of preferences screen. Your Affinity iPad apps should update automatically next time you run them. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them. If the automatic update does not happen for you, go to the iPad App Store app and go to Updates. Once you’re there, tap near the top of the screen where it states 'Updates' and then hold, pull down and then release. This should manually refresh the updates page. However, don’t contact us if the updates are not available for you yet—Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world and this can take up to 24 hours.

  14. Hey there! When switching between Affinity Designer on iPad and macOS, the font sizes change, and it's quite ugly! I'm using the Damascus font. Screenshots attached. Am I doing something wrong here?
  15. Hey Guys! I've been exploring affinity designer both on my mac and now on iPad, and guess what! I'm just loving it. Here is my recent work that I was exploring in order to create a new illustration style I named Flexi it looks. I hope you like it. https://dribbble.com/shots/7229199-Flexi-Illustration-Style-Hero-V-1-0
  16. OK guys I’m new and I have a few questions I keep trying to save for web the problem I’m having is when the file is saved and I go to upload it on Facebook for customers to view a possible proof it looks somewhat blurry. I have tried to save it as PNG and also JPEG and they’re both still blurry how can I get the highest resolution and not lose picture quality
  17. Hey. I study Affinity designer. Tell me, please, how to configure the export to PDF or EPS so that the layers and groups remain in place? I grouped the elements into groups and layers in the iPad app, but they ungrouped when exported to EPS or PDF
  18. I have been using AP for quite awhile Now. It is a great alternative to PS on the iPad. I use it more than PS on my Mac. I have my graphics that I create things with in my iPad in File Explorer. The last iOS 12 messed that up a bit, would not stay connected to iCloud. So a bit ago, I tried to drag in a file from Files into Affinity Photo, it would not work. So I tried using place from files and most of my files are no longer available to use from either my iPad or iCloud. Any ideas???
  19. Hello, I have a file that will not open from the AD Gallery. Save from the Gallery took about 20 minutes. I am not seeing the file in icloud storage. I am trying to access the file from my MAC but not locating the file anywhere. I select the item everything dims & it just hangs. Everything is updated & there is plenty of storage available. Thanks! 20. Much appreciated if someone could demonstrate how to draw text shadow as below on the iPad. I've tried duplicating a layer and pasting, but it's simply not as elegant as in Adobe Illustrator. Source:
  21. Good evening, I continue to explore AD on with my iPad... I love this machine! Delicate subject, especially drops of water..... What do you think?
  22. Regardless of how long it took AP to stack the 11 images, way to long, the outcome was beautiful. I also did two merges then another stack all on an iPad Pro. There are three orange to teal gradients used and the lighting filter, as well as some painting. AP is so awesome and I hope soon that they fix whatever is slowing it down and turning our hair grey in the meantime. This is a jpg image, the original .afphoto is over 2 gb.
  23. Hi, I love using Affinity Designer Desktop for UI design, and I'm planning to buy an iPad in the near future. I'm just wondering if I can still do UI design on the AD iPad? Is it even doable? Or there are some feature limitations comparing to the desktop version? Thank you, Cheers!
  24. Its been a week since I’ve been using photo on ipad and today the apps keeps crashing everytime I’m trying to go back to main gallery or whenever I’m saving. At first, I imported my file directly from google drive, and then i tried saving a copy to ipad and open that file to work on it. Same issues regardless. Please help solve this because I can’t do any job done this way. Thank you. WeddingWinie.afphoto
  25. A small faucet/tap to continue taking AD on iPad :)
