  1. Is there any plan to allow the ability to merge shapes a la the Unite/Pathfinder tool in AI? so far the only workaround that I can see is to save the file. Open it and edit in Illustrator using the Pathfinder tool. Then bring it back into Designer. Is there some other way to merge multiple shapes into just one? Thank you best, C’
  2. Hi there. Just found out that you are restricted in terms of file location on iPad. Is there a logical reason why Designer and Photo do not support locations like Google Drive? Why is a proper exchange / sync workflow only allowed within the Apple ecosystem? Even iOS now lets you use Chrome as your default browser
  3. Hi all, Recently purchased a keyboard and mouse to use along with my iPad Pro, as I thought I would be able to use Affinity Designer more intuitively. Only to find that the program is missing some very basic keyboard shortcuts. Some examples of the shortcuts in question are: Artboard panning (Spacebar + Drag), along with CMD button and (-)/(+) for zooming in and out. I really wanted to be able to invest more time into Affinity on the iPad, but feel like I can't with it lacking such basic shortcuts. Does anyone know if these are going to be added at some point (hopefully soon)??
  4. Hi, I have been using Affinity Designer on my iPad for about 6 months. So far it has been great up until recently. When I am working on a project the app will suddenly crash. Affinity is taking up about 17 gigabytes of storage, is this why? I have tried deleting projects I don’t need anymore and clearing up space but the problem still exists. At first I thought it would only happen if I was using too many art boards but lately the app will crash regardless. Please let me know if you know a solution or need more info!
  5. We are pleased to announce an update for the iPad release of Affinity Photo, version 1.9.2 Changes in this build The changes in Affinity Photo for iPad 1.9.2 (over the last release Affinity Photo 1.9.1) are as follows: Fixes & Improvements: Added ability to organise LUT adjustment presets, including support for multiple categories and import / export as “.afluts” files. Significant performance improvements for assets (import, export, organisation, etc.). Added support for OpenType reverse chaining contextual single substitutions. Improved performance of export and merge visible, especially in documents with Live Filters. Assorted content download improvements and fixes. Restored ability to access the long press menu in the hand tool. Minor improvements to Gaussian Blur performance when GPU is enabled. Fixed stacking / merging issue when performing subsequent merges / stacks using different files with the same name. Fixed crashes when previewing the export of extremely large bitmap files. Fixed crashes when manually entering a radius in the lens blur tool. Fixed issue whereby width and height fields were not available when performing an unconstrained crop. Fixed crashes when attempting to create greyscale layers from a spare channel whilst editing it. Fixed potential deadlock issue when loading large files. Fixed crashes with malformed ICC profiles. Misc fixes for My Account feature and content downloads. Improved the reliability of panorama stitching. Various stability improvements and assorted other small fixes. Help and localisation improvement. Changes and fixes in 1.9 made since 1.8 (including the new 1.9 features) are listed in some detail in this 1.9.0 Photo iPadOS update announcement UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers) The software version can be seen on the corner of preferences screen. Your Affinity iPad apps should update automatically next time you run them. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them. If the automatic update does not happen for you, go to the iPad App Store app and go to Updates. Once you’re there, tap near the top of the screen where it states 'Updates' and then hold, pull down and then release. This should manually refresh the updates page. However, don’t contact us if the updates are not available for you yet—Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world and this can take up to 24 hours.

  7. I really loved how Affinity Designer for the iPad is designed very intuitively for touch. But it would be much better if there would be better keyboard support like having more keyboard shortcuts or customizable keyboard shortcuts. Also having support for modifier keys like holding alt/opt for maintaining aspect ratio when resizing an image. Or holding space to drag an object or pan the screen. Thanks!
  8. Hi, I am trying to work on a children’s book and am hiring someone to edit my pages to be ready to upload to Amazon KDP (kindle direct publishing). The person I’m working with said he would need PSD files. When I try to export as PSD it seems to work until I find the documents in my files. Every time I have tried this they always end up being exported as PNG’s. If anyone knows a solution please let me know! I’m relatively new to this so I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m making a mistake in the process.
  9. Im trying to set a bleed on the ipad version of AD on an Artboard. But everytime i set a bleed nothing happens. I cant see any lines and if i close the bleed menue and open it again it is set to 0mm again. Am i missing something?
  10. 11. Hi everyone, First of all, sorry for my english. Second, congratullations to the Affinity Team, Affinity Photo is a great app. I'll try to explain what happens. Incidents Unexpected app closure after make some layers movement. After making changes, when goes back to the main window, it seems that changes has been saved but when you open it again, changes have dissapeared While working with the App, it can be seen how performance has decreased compared to previous versions, it takes longer to execute tasks (Moving a group of layers) When they happened? When i move a group of layers: Group Panel 1: Moving to X = 15 Group Panel 2: Moving to Y = 540 Group Panel 3: Moving to X = 785 Affinity Photo version 1.7.3 iPad specifications Tested on two ipads with the same results iPad Pro 10,5" HDD 256Gb iOS 13.3.1 iPad Pro 9,7" HDD 128Gb iOS 13.3 Attached the project to review the incident. 12. Hello, When I use the pencil tool with fill, I will be drawing for a few minutes then the app will crash and all of my work is lost. I’ve tried changing the saving interval so it can save and I don’t lose my work but that doesn’t work. This is the version iPad I am using A1893. Please help, I’m starting to enjoy using AD and hope this can be fixed without upgrading to a new iPad.
  13. hi there, i know there are lots of tutorials explaining AD for the ipad but there are still functions that i can not figure out because i have not found any detailed info about them, for instance the contextual options when an object is selected and you tick the move tool: About Centre? also: icons with a lock inside, or an eye, you can toggle these on and off but what is their goal? a detailed manual with all the AD functions would help but i have not found it yet, anybode else?
  14. Using iPad Pro + Apple Pencil 2019 Once I have my guides set, I cannot drag them or move them at all. It appears as if they are locked - any help greatly appreciated!
  15. Hey so i’ve been using Affinity Designer on my Ipad pro (2018) for a long time now. Never had any problems until two days ago when the new update came out. Whatever i try to do, whichever file i open the app crashes after a few seconds rendering it completely unusable... As i do two design jobs using mostly AD, this is a huge problem now. Any tips on how i could solve this would be greatly appreciated. Before you ask, yes i tried resetting the ipad, it didn’t help, the problem seems to be with the new update...
  16. Affinity Photo is a great app on the iPad and on Windows, but working together with both platforms is not so easy. You could use iCloud to sync your files, but it is very slow when working with large files and regular changes. Therefore it would be nice to be able to access file servers (FTP or SMB) directly inside the Affinity Photo App. This feature would be very cool and I would also pay something for this feature as an In-App-Transaction.
  17. According to the help you activate guides (context menu pops up ✅)... Then tap the guide... 🤔 .... should it change to a dotted red line? Can’t seem to drag it at all. The Lock Guides is not active. I’ve tried a tap-drag, a tap then drag, a long tap, a double tap... nothing. No visual feedback, no response at all. Can’t see anything in the Layers studio (I’ve unlocked them all to cover that off). What am I missing, thanks?
  18. Sorry if this is a repeat. I do not see the ability to export to an .afdesign file type from the ipad app. I only see .svg and when I export to .svg all of my layers and groupings turn into a jumbled mess on the desktop. I see that I am unable to access the designer files on my ipad directly is there a way to do this or is the only way to access those files is through saving files directly to icloud?
  19. Hi there, I noticed an overall drop of performance with the newest version. Especially when liquify masks are involved (but not necessarily bound to the use of liquify masks). It will often react with huge lags even with only using the GUI (selecting tools, opening menus, switching personas etc but not doing anything to the file itself). Can someone else confirm? Update: Its not only sluggish but also a first grade battery consumer. 30% in half an hour. My device is an iPad Pro 2nd Gen 10.5" with the latest OS installed (14.4 as today).
  20. Is it possible to access swatches from the context menu as shown below? Of course I mean document palettes should be listed here shouldn’t they, logically? If not, why not? Thanks

Fixed mirroring objects to transform individually based on tool settings. Fixed scaled text frame increasing text size when grouped. Fixed crash loading large TGA files. 23. As a very recent purchaser of an iPad and the Affinity iPad apps, reading this thread has left me a little confused! I have installed the latest version of Designer from the App Store; the splash screen shows it as being version 1.9.0, but the "Preferences/Settings" screen shows it to be 1.9.3. Which is "correct"? (Screenshot below). TIA. Jeff
  24. Hello, A very frustrating phenomenon keeps occurring while trying to select parts of a picture in Affinity Photo for iPad. Even though anti-alias is turned off and feather is set to 0, the edge of the selection i still blurred and I’ve found no setting to fix this. Am I missing something here? All I want is to have a nice, crisp edge on my selections but it doesn’t seem work. Anyone having the same problem?
