  1. I’m not really sure what to call this, but while working.. this happened in the end, I had to quit, and latest work was lost.. latest Affinity Designer, latest iPad Pro 12,9 and latest iOS (no beta) B9C0B872-7379-4B18-B014-DD19677FC0A2.MP4
  2. Hi, i use Affinity Photo (Version 1.6.8.77) on my iPad Pro 10.5 with iOS 12... if i open a tutorial, i can‘t navigate or close this, cause there is no way out without quit the App and restart it... Do you have a solution...? Grettings from Germany
  3. Designer is not displaying p3. Ipad pro. I copied it over, tried importing all the same. The sample image of course is only going to explain what is happening if you can See P3.
  4. Recently I have had the problem with my pencil picking up the background color when I'm trying to paint with a different color. It's not only painting on masks but other situations also.
  5. I did a search, but I couldn't find an answer to my question. Will Affinity Photo work on the new iPad 2018 or do I need to buy the Pro version? Thanks
  6. Hi, I currently don't do any processing on the move - using just my Mac desktop at home. I have an iPad Pro and am exploring my options to get things done whilst out and about doing shoots. My query is about my potential workflow, and if Affinity Photo can help. I currently use all Adobe apps on my desktop, but a quick look at Lightroom on the iPad doesn't seem to provide what I am looking for. I'm a real estate photographer, and I outsource my processing due to the volume of work required. But I often get gaps in my schedule when on the road, which could help me to get my photos to the editors quicker (then waiting until I get home). I'm using Sony A7R III (with an A7 III as a backup). All I need to be able to do is: 1) Get the Sony RAW files from my SD card onto the iPad. I understand a lightning SD reader will be needed for that. 2) Then to review the images, and possibly on some of them scale/crop to get the best of the shot. No actual processing of colours, etc. 3) Then save/export them as DNG files onto a cloud platform (whether it be OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox, whatever). Then I can email my Editors the location of the files to pick up for processing. I can't give them JPGs because they need to do the actual processing. DNGs end up much smaller filesizes than Sony RAW which means easier uploading too. And they are more universally recognized (the editors don't want to work with specific raw formats like Sony) Right now I have to wait until I get home from a day of shooting and do the above with Lightroom on my Mac. I'd love to be able to do this between shoots on the road, on the iPad. However, none of the apps I have looked into seem to be able to export this way. It's either save back to the original RAW format - or convert to a final non-raw format such as JPG. As I can't trial Affinity on iPad - and it's the key feature I would need - I thought I would ask here before buying. Is this going to be possible? Many thanks Simon
  7. Hello I am new here. I am looking to get a USB thumb drive that I can backup/work with my iPadPro 12". Any recommendation? I am looking at Sandisk, Leef and Kingston Bolt or any brand that works with Affinity Photo. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Here is the final image that I was having the crashing issue with a couple days ago. 100% iPad Pro with Affinity Photo. Hope ya like.
  9. Not sure if this is a known issue, so I apologize if this has been discussed already. I have a new project folder, in that project folder I have (currently) 2 files. My main document which has only one layer at the moment, and a separate photo I'm masking my subject out in. I need to copy the masked layer of the subject into the document with the background. When I select the subject layer, select "copy" and attempt to paste this layer and it's mask into my background document, the layer and it's mask are pasted, but the actual subject in the layer is missing. This is repeatable without change. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.
  10. After much consideration I've decided to invest in a portable tablet so that I'm no longer tethered to my Workstation at home and can double my output of designs by working on the go. I currently use an Artisul D13 tablet and it's been good to me, but I've recently tried my friends iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil and it completely blows mine out of the water. It's highly responsive with no lag, pressure sensitivity was off the charts, and there was no parallax which completely blew my mind! I went to Best Buy to purchase one and stumbled upon the MS Surface Book 2 on display so I checked it out. Now I'm conflicted because the Surface Pen is just as impressive as the Apple Pencil! The fact that the Surface Book 2 also doubles as a laptop and runs Windows 10 is a huge plus, but I need to inquire about a few things before I make such an investment. 1) Designer is the main app I use for my illustrations so I was wondering when it's coming to the iPad Pro or if there's some type of beta I can use until the full release. 2) If I get the Surface Book 2 am I allowed to install the same Designer & Photo I have on my PC or do I need a different License? 3) I know Photo is optimized very well on the iPad Pro so is it safe to assume that the same could be said for all versions of the Surface Book 2? 4) Let's say I get the Surface Book 2 with the i7 CPU, GTX 1060 GPU, and 16gb of Ram; Are there any type of performance benefits to having all the extra memory and computing power? If so what are they? Sorry for the long post and please feel free to comment. All opinions are welcome specially if you have an iPad Pro or the Surface Book 2.
  11. Hello everyone, I’m a beginner photographer and I got some problems using this app. I transferred my raw photos taken on my old trusty 6D to my iPad Pro (iOS 11) and the original iPad photo app is showing a huge difference compared to the imported image in Affinity photo. I think the problem is because I set my camera to increase sharpness & saturation however the raw file didn’t reveal those modifications done by my camera. I have tried to adjust HSL, Curve, exposure and so many things but I just can’t get the color right. I really want that color, that feeling shown in my camera as well as in the origional iPad photo app. Is there any solution such as adding the preset or something? Thank you so much for the help! As seen below, the raw image is so fade out because of the exposure issue. After adjustment I can get some pinkish color but definitely not this darken red color.
  12. I’m on iOS 11.1 on iPad Pro 10.5. Not sure if I should update to 11.2.6, b/c of all of the reported issues. There seem to be some pretty dramatic screw-ups in that update. But the App Store won’t let me purchase or download Affinity unless I’m on 11.2.6. Is there a way for me to download an older version for iPad that’ll work on 11.1? I’m really interested in this app! Thanks in advance!
  13. Hi! I have an iPad Pro 10.1 256 GB with last version of AP. I’ve imported 67 pics taken with my DSLR in photo app, then import to AP. Dev RAW editor cannot finish the develop and the app instantly crash. I’ve tried with an hard reset, but it has the same problems.
  14. I am VERY interested in a serious version of Affinity Designer that would be functional (advanced functional) on the iPad Pro. The iPad pro is great, but there are few serious programs for it other than Affinity Photos, which I have. Many of the design programs are very Lite. But I really need to do serious design work on my iPad pro and hope that Affinity Designer has a future on the iPad Pro platform. Thanks, Rick
  15. Hi, What typical save times are we looking at for the various export options? I'm currently exporting out a PSD at 530mb approx and it's taking ages! I understand it'll vary depending on file size/amount of information, but this does seem really quite slow? Are many people bouncing work between the desktop and iPad? Best, Nick
  16. Hi, I have just tried Affinity Photo and am quite impressed, it seems much easier than photoshop. My question is: do I need multiple purchases or will one purchase of Affinity do all my devices? Regards JJPKB

  18. I have both an iPad and an iPad Pro. On the iPad I can still Place images from Dropbox exactly as they should be. And until tonight, I could do the same on the iPad Pro. Now the Placed image is coming in cropped (like a square cut out of the full image) and magnified...sometimes magnified to point of pixelation. I checked that the Preferences are the same on both. I may have altered something but I don't know what...any suggestions? Thanks Attached: After Placing the cluster of yellow and red tulips on background (single tulip), it looked like the green leaves and is the same size as the layer below.
  19. HEY Hows everyone doing on here..... I wanted to share some of my work but figured since its my first post I'd share a little about myself as well. Im new to the whole Affinity program but Ive been a Hi-End retoucher for over the past 9 years. Currently Im a retouching manager in New York specializing in beauty and Product retouching. At work we're using the Top of the Line MAC's fully spec'd out with the "industry standard" photoshop ....... BUT I've been looking for something equally as capable as photoshop but mobile! AND HERE's where AFFINITY comes in... This thing is amazing! Every time I use it I find myself going back to work the next day with another "Guess what else affinity Does" story. lol. Im shocked It can handle the files it does and I'm sure its only going to get better from here. Ive been quietly looking around on this forum and all ready see SO many talented people. So I hope to bring some of my perspective from someone who uses photoshop all day at work. But then AFFINIY for my personal on the go projects. Some info on the file - Theres over 60 layers of just umbrellas and shadows! (ZERO Slow down in app). The file closed is about 400mb but opened its 1.18gb. This was shot with my Dji Mavic Pro. Completely edited start to finish in AFFINITY Photo for Ipad Pro
  20. The Fujifilm X100F is among Apple’s supported cameras and the they show up fine Photos app. But when I open them in Affinity, I do not get any error messages. I attached a screenshot with some notes. Any ideas? I am using an iPad Pro 10.5 running iOS 11.2.1, Affinity version 1.6.5.61 Like the app a lot so far. Would be amazing if I could get the RAW files to work.
  21. Hello, I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful software you guys have created. I’m glad to inform you that I have successfully and delightfully moved my entire workflow from Photoshop on the Mac to AP on the Ipad pro. The one feature I miss though is being able to use the Topaz Detail plugin for skin smoothening. I’ve tried various workarounds for smoothening, but nothing quite gives me the same result. Is there a way I can install the plugin on the IPad version of AP cheers Zaheer
  22. Hey! So I've been using Affinity Photo on my iPad Pro 12.9 second gen for 2 days now. The first day I only did some sketches to test all the brushes and settings and the second day I wanted to do a new concept art piece on it. Within my workflow I tend to make masks with the Polygon pen tool and then paint over those. At first everything went great and I was really enjoying the hell out of this awesome piece of software but then the crashes started to happen. Every time I tried to make a Polygon selection, mid way putting the points down (~5 points) it would crash. I tried quitting the app, reopen it, reboot the device but nothing worked. I even tried to lower the resolution of 3000x1800 to something smaller but then it crashed while resizing. At this point I was only ~7 layers deep, and unable to continue to work in this document. I exported it and continued in Procreate, which bums me out because I really need the advanced tools that Affinity photo offers. I hope I gave you enough information about the bug, if you need anything else, please let me know. Please guys, I really need this amazing software! Cheers, Mike
  23. Small icons and color combo on the iPad pro user interface are difficult for visually impaired. Difficult to see gray on gray or black. The colors on the Mac interface are great! This would be a great improvement. Thanks!
  24. Hey everybody, This is my first post on this forum so hello haha. now for the problem.... When i have a RAW image (it also does it with jpeg btw) that i am editing in Affinity Photo on the iPad Pro (IOS11) and i add the filter “Depth of Field” it works like a charm, but when i click on ✔️ to accept the effect on the layer, it just keeps on loading and loading... I let the loading screen on for 45 min LOL, so i can only say that affinity crashes when using the depth of field blur effect. What i have tried to fix it: - Uninstalled the app en reinstalled it: Nothing changed. - with only one layer (no other editing done): Nothing changed, same problem - Took different pictures to try: Nothing changed. So i come to the conclussion that it really is a bug that needs to be fixed soon. So that was problem 1, then i also have another things: - I am right handed, so when i use my pensil why is the undo button on the left corner? This is really enoying because i always have to get out of the working flow because i have to take away the pensil from the screen to undo. I think it would be wise to have multi touch like: two vingers tab = undo, three vingers tab = redo. - When i am traveling i always have a wireless external harddrive with me but i cannot save anything on there with affinity, opening yes but saving it to my drive no,... WHY?! I tried: WD Wireless Pro, Seagate wireless, Lacie Fuel not one of them worked to save my affinity files on. Yes, i know you can save it to the cloud, but when i am for example in Cuba for a job i don’t have internet.... In my eyes this is really a huge, epic fail and problem with Affinity Photo. This could be the photoshop killer for me but without this saving option it’s just another app and not a professional workspace. Is this changing in the nearby future? Are you guys going to fix this in an upcoming update? I really hope so because i would love to step over to Affinity in my professional work. - The patch tool, works sometimes but sometimes it’s very glitchy. When i select the part i want to change and i drag the pensil to place that i want it to take, it takes most of the time a completely different part on the image... uhhhh haha This makes the patch tool almost unusable and very unrealiable. - Multi-touch with your fingers I already said it somewhere but i think this is really a great and a huge miss. To touch with two finger the screen for let’s say a undo action would change alot for the better, take procreate 4 for example, they killed it with there multitouch and it works like a charm. - Saving options Yes this for me is really the most important part that needs to change and i ask you developers, Fix this please, because without the saving option to a wireless external hardrive, Affinity Photo is just another app and not a professional workspace. So i think this was it, i have to say after all the problems that i named i also need to say that i really love the program and i think that it has great and epic potential. I hope you guys have some answers for me and i think a lot of other people have the same questions and problems. Thank you guys for making this software available to us all, now let make it the best app in the world!! Warm greetings, Glenn
