  1. I don’t know what the layers compact mode is for. I can perhaps use it for navigation although I can only imagine that I either display the regular layers panel or hide it. In Designer I find the concept weird and lifeless. But one thing I clearly see missing is double clicking the thumbnail to zoom to that object or group like I can in the normal layers panel. Without this compact mode doesn’t even work for navigation.
  2. Greetings, I’m trying to find out if I could change the settings for the grids on affinity designer for iPad Pro? For example if I wanted 28 or 32 columns by 16 or 18 across? Your help is greatly appreciated!
  3. I have a photo with three layers. There is no way to tell which layers will be exported using the option under the hamburger menu, , regardless of which are currently visible. Sometimes it’s the background. Sometimes it’s the background plus one of the added layers. Sometimes it’s only the added layers. If I have one of the added layers turned off (not visible) it will not be exported, but turning another layer on (visible) won’t cause it to be exported. And the layer that works is different from one time to the next.
  4. If I give a layer a different blend mode on the iPad, go out of layers, then deactivate the layer and again reactivate it = the blendmode is not preserved and has to be re-entered.
  5. New issue tonight in Designer for iPad: unable to select a colour in pixel persona. Whatever I try, it doesn't work, even after closing and reopening the app. Wonder whats causing this.
  6. We are pleased to announce an update for the iPad release of Affinity Designer 2 for iPad, version 2.0.4 The changes in Affinity Designer 2 for iPad 2.0.4 (those made since the last release Affinity Designer 2 for iPad 2.0.3) are as follows: Changes in this build (since the last release 2.0.3) Fix guides panel showing wrong position for guides on artboards Fixed Register your licence prompt appears on every run up if the user doesn't register Fixed sliders allowing values over 100% when it doesn’t make sense (e.g. opacity) Can reset stroke pressure easily again (using long press or tap). Fixed non-ASCII characters not being accepted in license usernames Fix New Document sometimes showing Letter* instead of A4 Some image resources are being replaced by others from the same document when copy/paste was used to insert them. [AFB-7053] Assorted stability fixes Help and Localisation updates. Assorted other Licensing and Registration improvements To get notified when any new releases are made please follow the latest releases thread by clicking here UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (which is free for all V2 users) The software version can be seen in the bottom left the corner of preferences screen. Your Affinity iPad apps should update automatically next time you run them. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them. If the automatic update does not happen for you, go to the iPad Store app and go to Updates. Once you’re there, tap near the top of the screen where it states 'Updates' and then hold, pull down and then release. This should manually refresh the updates page. Alternatively go to the iPad Store Search page, type in "Affinity," which shows all the V2 apps, & then tap on each of their thumbnails (not the Open button) which after a brief delay changes the Open button in the app page to "Update." However, don’t panic if the updates are not available for you yet—Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world and this can take up to 24 hours.

  9. Shift+O doesn’t cycle orientation (does nothing) and O doesn’t cycle overlay (selects Burn Brush instead). I’m using an iPad Pro 12.9” 4th Gen. with the Logitech Combo Touch. Latest Affinity Photo 2 and iOS version.
  10. Is there any way to change the radius of the color picker you get with the bottom modifier of the brush tool? I want to blend between different colors without having to switch between the actual color picker tool and the brush tool, but I only get a 1x1 px sample area.
  11. Hi all! Following suggestions, I'm reposting about this particular issue that is still present with the latest Designer release V 2.0.3 on iPad. The brushes panel is very blurred and pixelated. Brushes are difficult to see. I experience this particular issue on a daily basis. Upon restarting the app, it can be fine but then the brushes become pixelated again. It has been ongoing for me since installing Designer V2. This happens for both add-on/custom and designer brushes. Thanks!
  12. Could not find anything on the matter. Fill overlaps line of a trapezoid when I use perspective warp “to much”. At a specific point it simple jumps over the line. Let me know if you need the original file for analysis.
  14. So I'll try and explain this the best I can. I'm inserting a black SVG into an afdesign file. I'm then double tapping the SVG to open it up separately and amend the colour. I'm changing the colour to #AB8D49. The colour changes in the 'separate' window where the SVG is being edited. I head back to the main afdesign file. The colour of the SVG has changed, but is visibly different to the text on that file with the same hex. An eyedrop of the SVG now shows the colour as #A88E53. Double tapping the SVG again opens the file up and shows the correct colour code #AB8D49. It seems to only be when the file is then inserted back into the afdesign file that the colour goes slightly lighter. I've tried checking opacity etc. just to check that it's showing as it should be - it is. The RGB profile of both the SVG and the afdesign file is the same. I've tried reproducing this on Mac designer v1 and don't get the same result - the colour matches as it should - so this seems to be an issue only happening on v2 iPad. Any suggestions greatly welcome as it's driving me round the bend.
  15. When you use these features quite often from the toolbar in the desktop version, it is very cumbersome and non-intuitive to find and activate them via a long pull down menu in the iPad version.
  16. that might be a weird question but is it possible to use affinity photo as view finder and remote controller for an iPhone? I speak for the desktop Mac versions but also the version for iPad Pro would be great if it would be possible to realize it. thank you very much...
  17. Dear Serif Software 🙂 I have a very hard time living with the difference between document setup editing on an iPad and desktop. It happens very often that I change the document settings sometimes along the way long after a document is created. Very often it's just the orientation I change, other times I go from A3 to A1 format out of necessity or because I or someone else set up the document incorrectly from the start. And that mistake is quickly fixed in the desktop version: Document setup: change document size, select scale or anchor to page etc. Or more. You can't do that at all in the iPad version? I only find resize, which scales and smashes the content on top of that, by scaling it unproportionally? This is completely disastrous when you only have your iPad with you for days or weeks at a time, and don't have access to a desktop computer. And that's core functionality, not one of those minor things that can be left out of the iPad version. So I hope you can improve this significantly, thank you. I work on an iPad Pro.
  18. I’m really liking the embedded RAW file functionality and the ability to go back to the Develop Persona and edit an Overlay adjustment. It works well with Gradient Overlays that when you go back and select an overlay, you can see the start/finish handles of the gradient so you can reposition it. However, I can’t figure out how to see a Brush Overlay to edit it . I was expecting to be able to switch the red overlay back on ( as when you orginally paint) so I can fine tune it. Is it possible to do this or do I have to rely on guesswork?
  19. Dear Serif Software 🙂 I travel a lot, and for that I constantly use an iPad Pro 2022 model that gives me maximum freedom to work seriously, professionally and flexibly. And after all, that's what iPad Pro is made for. When I can work at a desk, I have a mouse connected via a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, and I also somewhat redundantly have a Magic Trackpad at my right hand. Still, I really miss being able to zoom with my mice that have scroll wheel, which I can also do on the desktop version. It's so much more efficient to zoom in and out where you are with the scroll wheel, and when I'm sitting with the mouse in my hand and using it, it's silly not to take advantage of it. 🙂 I use Designer the most for big illustrations and I zoom a lot in and out. A lot. Using my fingers for it is less effective, and when I use the Apple keyboard as well (that is now supported by Affinity v2) reaching for the screen with you hand as well is awkward. It's not that the scroll wheel isn't supported by iPadOS, it's supported fine by iPadOS itself, but has no function within Affinity, so I hope you can get it implemented like in the desktop edition. 🙂
  20. What are the system requirements to run V2 of all three Affinity apps on an iMac and iPad? I've searched through the Affinity/Serif website and have not found any mention of system requirements. I would like to purchase a Universal License for the upgrade, but I want to be sure the apps will work on my devices before I spend the money. Thanks for the help, Paul
  21. Hi all, Is there an average blur feature on the iPad affinity software? I use a lot on compositing, would anyone recommend another way to get the mean color of an image? Thanks in advance! -jd

  24. i’m so disappointed by the quality while working on ipad. idk why but when working on V2 on my ipad pro, the lines and edges get pixelated. so i attached 2 screenshots where you can see the difference. the blue one is the V2 and the red, V1. same device and a terrible experience on the ipad. extra issue! with the V1 i could save my project on the cloud in my projects area so i could continue on my mac. now i have to keep the project open, save as a copy, open files, replace the project made by the new one. i love the effort and hard work to make something fresh, but it is just more complicated to use right now. specially on the quick things like save an open project.
