  1. Hi, Working on a document converted from PDF, I had some images cause a freeze any time I applied a text wrap to them. Also, I made bulleted lists using a character style on the bullet, with different font, size, color and baseline. The character style doesn't update automatically and the bullet baseline jumps erratically high, like 20 pt when it should be -3-ish. BTW, I managed to get Finnish hyphenation working on a semi-decent level using the attached Public Domain library. The library makes Publisher crash as is, but when you remove the first charset line, it works just fine. The library is not perfect, but it's a good start. Should you be able to tap into the OS X library, that would be just smooth too, but I understand it's not as simple as one would like to think . Sorry to include multiple topics in one post, bit of in a hurry here and wanted to contribute… Asukkaan_opas_01_2019.afpub fi_FI.zip
  2. You used in your Flow Window the term «Prevent widowed last lines». In this context, the term widow is not a well-chosen terminology. Actually, it is wrong. I suggest using the term «runt» instead of «widowed». David Blatner introduced the term «runt» for this typographic problem. In typography, a «runt» occurs when the last line of a paragraph ends with: - a part of a hyphenated word - or a single short word - or a short lines of text with up to 10-signs at the last line of a paragraph. An exact term of this typographic crime is vague and (historically) does not exist at all. Some call them orphans or widows; others call them runts. You called them widows which I think is confusing and not correct in this context. I agree with David Blatner how proposed the term «runt» and who pointed out that: ...while some people call these widows and other people call them orphans, those terms definitely do not describe short last lines at the end of a paragraph. The terms Orphans and Widows are reserved for other typographic problems. (Orphans are single first lines stranded at the bottom of a column. Widows are single last lines stranded at the top of a column.) That’s why I (Blatner) like the term “runt” when talking about short last-lines in a paragraph. https://indesignsecrets.com/3-ways-to-fix-runts-in-your-text.php I would further suggest giving the user in the Flow Window the possibility to define how much signs are permissible for «Runts». By the way, InDesign is not offering this functionality and is not using the term «runt».
  3. Turning on auto hyphenation for selected text in Russian causes application to crash (Affinity Publisher Public Beta - 1.7.0.145).
  4. Dear developer, I installed HunSpell hungarian dictionaries with hyphenation. I checked auto hyphenation, but many place is buggy. See my attachments, these wrongs on one page, and I have many pages. Good hyphenation: Üd-vöz-lé-sem Ész-re-vet-tem nő-vé-re-met Can check good hungarian hyphenation here (Hungarian scientific Academy site): https://helyesiras.mta.hu/helyesiras/default/hyph I use version 58 now. Please fix hyphenation, because this useless now.
  5. Dear developers, I use HunSpell for hyphenation for my book wrapping in PagePlus. Can I set this in Publisher? I need hungarian language for my work.
  6. As I changed a paragrah style to use Spanish Hyphenation, the text gets scrambled. Same with other languages. And it doesn't revert if you disconnect the hyphenation again, until you change the "no break" option (That, by the way, it should be in the same tab as the hyphenation, if it refers to word breaking) Any way, real hyphenastion never happnes, you get scrambled or not screambled without hyphenation.
  7. Dear Support, I would like to suggest Greek language spelling and hyphenation tools for Affinity Publisher sooner or later! I consider them to be very important for my work. Thank you very much !
  8. Dear Affinity Team, I love your program and still use the 10 days trial version. As I often work with Text - used illustrator for many years - I need a auto-hyphenation tool. Do I just not find it or is it not included in the Affinity designer? And if not - are there any plan implementing it? Thanks for your reply.
  9. Is there no autohyphenation for german language in text columns in Designer? thanks for answer Schubi
