  1. Context: Suppose I have many small objects scattered and selected all over the canvas (selected objects belong to different hierarchical levels, e.g. grouped, nested groups and so on). Now when they are all selected, I know that 50% of the screen should not be selected. Goal: I need to de-select 50% of the screen easily, sort of like with a lasso tool just by going around area that I do not need. Currently, there's no such opportunity in AD. This is something I am in need of very often and my only option is selecting (or de-selecting) one-by-one. It would be really nice if Affinity team added support for such an operation.
  2. Hello! I would like to create table of content from my new text styles, however I am not quite sure to make table of content hierarchical according to my newly created styles. With heading 1; 2; 3, the hierarchy is automatic. Is it something with next style and next level? I am confused from this... Thx! Thank you for any help
  3. [Affinity Publisher 1.8.4 on MacOS] I'm trying to set up hierarchical ("Based on") text styles for a book I am designing. But the behaviour of the Font settings is preventing it from working correctly. When editing the Font settings of a text style "Based on" another style: Font family defaults to "[No change]" (perfect for hierarchical styles), but Font traits (Italic, etc.) is disabled. (See screenshot attached.) For example, my "Based on" style is in Garamond, and I just want to create a style for Italic. I should be able to simply change the Font traits to "Italic". But the only way to enable the Font traits (so I can choose Italic), is to hard-select Font family: Garamond, then choose Font traits: Italic. Of course that works, but it breaks the cascading hierarchical style. If I later change my "Based on" style to Jenson, the lower-level style remains hard-selected to Garamond. Is this a bug, or is there some good reason for this behaviour? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help you can offer.
  4. I realise that you can zoom in on an object by double clicking on the object thats in the hierarchy, but why can't it be the other way around? I often can't find an object buried in the cluttered hierarchy, while I can see it clearly on the artboard. I believe that double clicking on the object and having the hierarchy automatically scroll to it, and have it selected would be very beneficial.
  5. Hello, When I CTRL+Click in Designer (Windows) it always selects the deepest level in the hierarchy, so if I have a rectangle inside a symbol inside a group and ctrl+click it, it will select the rectangle. Is there a way to set the depth of this selection, so that it doesn't select the "insides" of symbols, or only selects up to the first child of a group? Thanks, Fernando
  6. Is there a way to duplicate an art board and have the layer structure you already have on the first art board carry over to a duplicated art board? I just created a second art board and copy dragged my art over to the second art board and it lost all of the layer hierarchy I had set up. Do I need to copy and paste to retain the structure? Thanks. edit - just tried the copy and paste method and it didn't honour the layer structure it juste pastes everything in...
  7. When I make a copy of a layer ⌘ C ⌘ V Is the copy above the original or below? Thanks.
