help everything on the color wheel is black. Ive tried changing the document settings. i have the document set to rgb16 and rgb. i have uninstalled and reinstalled. i have restarted my computer. I have gone into preferences and made changes and nothing seems to work. Ive looked all over google and it doesnt look like anyone has my issue. -
Hello guys, I just got Affinity Designer on my macbook because I'm interested in learning graphics design, and this seems like a great app to start with. I am stuck at how to cut inside a curve shape. I looked but can't find the answer, please help me understand how to do it. I attached a screenshot of the curve line where I want to cut the curve shape. I appreciate your time! Luca -
Hi there, I'm trying to expand the outer shadow I've applied to an object so it can be manipulated independently of the source object. e.g. I have a vector of a windmill, I apply the outer shadow to the windmill, expand the outer shadow to its own layer, add a shear to the outer shadow to add perspective to the shadow. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Best, J -
Is there a way to clip or grab imported bitmaps on the fly and clip them - At the top of this image, the bitmap isn't quite right - but in the spirit of non-destructive editing - or 'tweaking the colors' of the bitmap, I could clip the bitmap fill until it looked right... adjusting the repeating fills around it.... If we can't - makes a good feature request : ) -

The formatting is slightly different (page layout, bullets, colours, etc.) so don't be confused. The file format is .ibooks. Sorry, I didn't use EPUB or other but I guess every user has iBooks installed :) Sorry if some references / hyperlinks are missing. I use old-fashioned "copy&paste" method to create this file. I've exported this file from iBooks Author to PDF too, but for some reason the hyperlinks don't work. Anyway if you prefer PDF here is the download link.

I have a habit of searching for help on a particular topic, reading the help, closing the window, promptly forgetting what I have just read and having to repeat. I doubt that I am alone. Would it be possible for the "Help" window to include a list of the last few topics searched? -
Hey Guys, I'm a fashion design student and I switched from Adobe Illustrator to Affinity Desginer. I don't want to use AD just for drawings but for technical drawings too. My problem: in Illustrator I had brushes for zippers and stitches. Everytime I drew a straight line I could change the brush into a zipper or a stitch but for AD there is nothing like this pre made brushes available (or haven't found it yet). So, is it possible that someone can explain me how I make this brushes in AD or it would be nice if someone do it for me I attached you the ad file with the pre made shapes This is how they look Thank you in advance Fashion Brushes.afdesign

I used the pen tool on this program way back when (probably late 2017) and had no problem tracing my sketches into vector art. Now when I alt click a node (in 1.7) it turns the entire line straight instead of just removing one handle. Is this supposed to happen? Because right now the tool is virtually unusable. -
I have two Publisher projects and I want to know how can I copy or move one page from one Publisher project to another. ? can I export one page then import it? -
Basically what i'm trying to do it color in any image for an online class project but what I found really wasn't working so I don't know if someone could make a tutorial on this with affinity photo if you have the time or explain how in the best was possible so I can "understand" (learning style wise) since i'm still trying to learn more about affinity or if you know a better method or anything would just as helpful. So I’ve been trying to export this picture that I made to PDF and it isn’t working. Random lines show up and letters are missing. Even some of the color that I put in has moved and isn’t showing up. I don’t know what’s going on at all. I’m trying to do PDF print and PDF for export so that I can use this as a logo. All of the layers are normal Would it be better to use PNG instead for printing a logo? I need the vector to come out beautifully. Gin Glow RGB final?.pdf Gin_Glow_RGB_).pdf -
Hi folks have loved using Affinity Photo design for the last few years and will never be going back to Photoshop. I am having issues however with getting the Library Macros to work, ie Light Leaks , neon fade and all that fun stuff. They all import however when clicking they do not apply or bring up any menu Can someone help? -
Hi Folks, I'm after some help again.... So I really admire two very very good automotive photographers... Amy Shore and Laurent Nivalle. Both have a similar(ish) style and this extends to their editing process. I have read numerous interviews with both of them and they both mainly use Photoshop (Sorry to swear!) rather than lightroom and I am very keen to try and re-caprture their respective styles but by using Affinity Photo. I have attached two files which are photos from both Laurent and Amy respectively. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction to try and obtain the same style? Obviously I don't want to be copying their styles out right as that is not what photography is all about but I am very curious as to how to achieve this. Thanks folks, hope you can help. I’m a fashion student so do a lot of my technical drawings on this app, however I’m having trouble exporting them. SVG is really the only file that when exported still gives me crisp clear lines but recently I’ve started having issues I’ve attached an example of one of my drawings vs what happens when it exports, ill export it as an svg (for export) and ill go into my files and it will look completely fine within a few minutes I go back to see if it’s all good and I’m left with either nothing or one small part of a drawing . I’d appreciate any help or advice on this issue I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if there is something else I can export it as without compromising the quality? I’ve attached screenshots below.

That might sound like a bit of a strange thing to say - “Yeah, so it does what it’s supposed to, what's wrong with that?” - but when you switch Persona to either Designer or Photo you still get just the Publisher help and not the help for the persona you’re in. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing but it doesn’t seem right to me somehow. For example, while in the Designer persona I might want to see how to use the Vector Brush Tool, which isn’t in Publisher, but I can only see the Publisher help so I can’t see the help for that tool. It’s not a massive problem as we also have the online help available from a browser but I thought I’d mention it. I didn’t think this was a bug as such so I didn’t post this in the Bugs forum. -
Ungrouping anything in any file in affinity designer 1.8.3 for MacOS breaks most element on the screen screen and undoing the ungroup does not fix it, neither does reverting to a earlier snapshot. I am fairly new to the program but I'm pretty sure that this isn't supposed to happen, not sure if it's something I have done or just a bug with my version. AFFINITY_DESIGNER_UNGROUP_BUG.mov

In illustrator when drawing with the pencil you can see the outline of where you're drawing. Is this possible in affinity? Seems pretty odd that it's invisible until you raise your pen from the tablet. -

Is it possible to fill any shape or vector with a Bitmap / Pattern fill in Affinity Designer? I can't see the option in Fill settings anywhere. Or is this feature only available in Affinity Photo?? And if so - why??? -
Hey there! Been using Publisher to design bulletins and whatnot for a couple of people. Each person has their own branding style and information, which (due to how I build the bulletins) can make rebranding take a while. I've been theorizing a system where I can simply select which brand the bulletin is being built for and automatically adjust colors and fonts the way I need them but I don't know how to actually make it effective in Publisher. I thought about using text styles but that seems like it could be rather inefficient. Any ideas? -

Hi just wondering if Affinity Photo is compatible with PSD multichannel documents ? Could such a file be opened and edited and re-saved in psd format ? Does photo have its own multichannel format and can this be opened with photoshop ? Similar question for Affinity Designer, is it compatible with AI format ? Can Ai files be opened edited and re-saved in AI format ? What is the native format for Designer files and is this compatible with AI ? Ive been using Adobe apps for 25 years so very interested in Affinity products. If the answers to the above questions are favourable making the change will be a no brainer. thanks. -
so basically i am working on a project but i need the letters outside the line deleted and i dont know how to can anyone help. i dont want to delete the whole thing i need the line and letters inside just not outside. it is overlapping and i need the outside letters to be deleted. -
Hi all im wondering if you can make a media / workspace like in Lightroom in affinity Photo, if you can how do you do it ? im annoyed i have to load all the picture/photos in to infinity photo manualy and have to locate the Directory where my photos stored every time , can anyone help me with this ?
