So there's a setting in Photoshop called transfer that I use religiously. Is there a setting in Affinity (or is a setting being planned in a future update) that I can use that would produce something similar?? I found another thread about this but I'm looking for more recent answers.... I tried setting "flow" to be affected by pen pressure, but the result is too different from what I'm looking for. I'd also be okay with a Photoshop plugin of... some sort, that might allow me to do something similar... I'm just so desperate for Affinity Photo to replace Photoshop for me. I refuse to pay monthly for something I wouldn't use monthly! Anything helps -
Has anyone of you lovely people experienced issues with guides? They used to work ok - a bit buggy, but now they're completely broken. If anyone has a hack to unlock artboard guides on ipad pro I'd be so grateful! When I navigate to guides>show guides I can't move any of the existing guides, the only function I can perform is to add new guides - but even though I can add guides, these cannot be moved by hand/apple pencil (only by adjusting coordinates). Hi loves! Super affinity designer newbie. I make logos for clients & for some reason having a hard time exporting to SVG.. I’ve sliced before on most of my designs & I usually have to do it a few times until it magically works. The specific design I created is like another I did & the SVG export worked. For some reason I can’t figure it out. I bought the book & super love it... but it doesn’t go into a lot of detail about exporting sadly. Please help. I will add file & hopefully someone can get it! I know I’m doing something wrong if I have to try to 20 times before not knowing what I did right. Haha. Thanks so so much! Untitled Copy_10.afdesign -

This may seem somewhat simple-minded, but for those who will be first-time users, it would be nice to have optional help pop-up dialogue boxes for any of the set-up pages or parameter adjustment elements. Such a feature could be switchable (on/off) in the Preference settings. This would allow for better understanding of each parameter or setting when defining a document or project; which in-turn reduces time costs, support inquiries, et al. Just a thought. -
Hello Community, I've already asked that in the past and saw others complain about it, but there does not seem a real solution? However when I watch video tutorials from other professionals, I don't see them having the issue with snapping: I want to snap two objects together, but I mostly end up with a thin line between them. 1) Here you can see my current snapping options. Also I've created a black rectangle 2) I duplicate the rectangle and "try" to snap both together. 3) Once I let go of the mouse, I end up with the fine thin line inbetween the rectangles 4) When I export it, it looks like this: I have no idea what to do about it, but I really have run out of energy on this one .... Can anyone help out here?

Hello, my question is, how to change the backgroundcolor or stainer from Affinity Designer back to white. Mine is beige (235/235/235) when i start Affinity Designer and i can not change it. So all of my pictures get an old beige look to it, that i don't want. (pictures are all with default settings, i didn't change anything after application launch) I tried resetting it and uninstalling it but nothing helped. Thanks for you help.

Hey, I try to use my gradient tool making a tiny planet image, and while using my gradient tool (ans us it to create a mask), the image in the background disappears behind it. Any idea? Here is a screenshot of my situation attached to this message. Christophe

i would like to recolor the black selection i made. if its in color i can recolor it using the recolor option, but if its white/black it doesnt allow it to be recolored. and stays white no matter what

While you are rewriting the beta versions of the Affinity Suite of applications in preparation for the next retail versions, please consider: 1. Make both the desktop version and the online version of the help files searchable by keywords and key phrases. (provide a search bar in every pane of the help menu files) 2. Produce "fuzzy search" results from any of several possible terms that might be used to search for the same help topic. (ex. A search for Typography, text, verbiage and writing might yield the same search results. or, keyboard, keyboard shortcuts and keyboard customization might yield the same results. (not that these are great examples, but hopefully, you get where I am coming from)) (This way, if a user is not certain how to phrase his/her search, they could still find what they are looking for) -

Publisher 1.7.0.238. It would be useful to a lot of users if the "Special characters and glyphs" page of the Help could give: * what each character looks like (if possible); * a short explanation of what it does, or what it can/should be used for; * a good visual example of where it has been used. Some characters are fairly self-explanatory - "Page Number", "Copyright", etc. - but some, such as (but not limited to) "Soft Hyphen", "Sixth Space", "Zero-Width Non-Joiner" and "Punctuation Space" are meaningless to people without a good DTP/printing background. I'm sure there are lots of explanations around the web but it would be nice if users didn't have to search for them. Obviously the Help isn't finished yet, but it would be a shame if this sort of useful information was omitted. -
Hi, i bought the app in December 21 for my macbook pro 13". Just updated to a macbook pro15" and want to transfer the app. Cause my 13" will be for personal use and my 15" for working. I was wondering if theirs a way to do so, or do i need to buy it again. I won't be using it no more in the 13". Thank you -
Hello, I apologize if this has been asked before, In affinity designer when I'm using the brush tool it always creates a new layer when i release the mouse key which is a bit of an annoyance. I wanted to ask if theres any way to change this so its always on the same layer similar to Illustrator. -
Hi! first time using Affinity I used it yesterday and it went perfectly! Today I used it and now the inpainting brush is not working? I highlight the part I want to get rid of and it doesn't turn red It says it is "inpainting it" but it doesn't actually get rid of it PLEASE HELP Thanks -
It's been two days since I requested a refund. I bought it to try it out but I didn't like it so I'm returning it. I sent out an email to affinityreturns@serif.com but never got a response if I would be getting a refund or not Just want to know when I should get an email back saying that I can get a refund

Hi I am using latest Affinity Photo 1.6.7 on Mojave latest 10.14.2. When I try to use Affinity Help all I get is a blank screen! Here is my first search for 'Inpainting' for which I get a number of choices. When I click on i'inpainting brush tool' all I get is this blank white screen. It happens all the time and Ican't use any in-app help files. Please can you help me... Cheers....

First: Many thanks, folks. Many great improvements here. Now, how the heck do they all work? Generally, the Affinity help system is much better than that offered by many other vendors, yet there are still things I spend ages tinkering with in order to find out how they work. This would be helped a great deal if there was a technical manual that went into detail about how everything works. Yes, early users want simple advice. But please don't forget those of us who are more experience would also like something for us that really gets into the nitty-gritty of things. There must be details specifications for functions -- could not these be used to produce manuals for us more techie folks? When I was a software engineer at HP this was how we worked, writing both Úser and Technical manuals for two very different customer audiences (likewise in Tech Support, we differentiated the techies and tried not to ask questions such as 'Have you switched it on?'' I produce the Youtube Inaffinity channel which in part explains my 'discoveries''. It would help me if I had more detail to help with this. I wouldn't mind either if I could focus more on artistic aspects of the very wonderful Affinity Photo. -
Hi! I am quite new to the world of design and I'd like to pursue it as a hobby. I found out about affinity designer and i LOVE it so far. However I've noticed q lot of times while playing around with it, that sometimes the "snap" does not properly work, or at least I might not use it properly and therefore always do the same mistake: Whenever I create a symmetrical image, I first create half of the grafic and then copy paste and mirror it to get the image I want. In 90% of the cases though, I end up with the shapes not being perfectly together and it results in a gap between the images. I mostlay always discover it at the end, because I use a helper line which covers the gap. Is there an easy technique which allows me to fix this? I've tried to break both curves and then join the top and bottom nodes, but nothing happens. Also when trying to "snap" both nodes on top of each other, I can't get rid of the gap. I'd be grateful for any advice.

So yes this has been a issue that has been going on for some time Idk if i just didn't notice or if its just my computer but the purview its like yeh looks the way i want but then export it then its significantly darker? If anybody has has something like this happen please help and if i need to ill go into more detail. -
Affinity Photo please include a dedicated Preferences section in Help. I did a search for Preferences in the Help Menu and in Affinity Photo Help document and nothing matches. -
Help With Vector Brush Tool

Hello, everyone. I'm new here and to Designer (for the iPad). Currently, I'm working on my first inked piece using this app and am having some trouble with the Vector Brush Tool. So here's what I've done: 1. I opened a new file... 2. Selected the Vector Brush Tool... 3. Outlined the drawing... Here's the problem: 1. I can't seem to adjust the pressure of the strokes by dragging the curve 2. When I do drag the curve and let go, the curve jumps back to normal (even if it does move, the stroke remains unaffected) ***See last photo*** Is there something I'm missing? Thanks
