I have recently made the switch from PS to AP and I have a question or two. Most of what I work on is scanning old family albums to digitize them and I am trying to work my way through 25,000 slides from my shooting days. Could someone give me a sequence of tasks to perform for most of these images ? I spend hours dust-spotting, fixing tears, and color balancing these old family treasures. The slide scanning is mostly dust spotting from years of storage. Thank you in advance, Jim -
When I used the eyedropper tool in illustrator, it copied the attributes of the object that I clicked on with the dropper. For example, when I'm making a square of some color, and I want it to have an opacity of x% and a blending mode of Multiply, all I have to do in illustrator is make a square, then eyedrop another shape with those attributes and possibly change the color (all of my stuff involves layers on layers of differently sized shapes with the same blending mode.) In Affinity, is there a way to do this? The eyedropper copies the exact color on the canvas, and when I want to do my layering thing, I have to save the base color on the swatch, then change the blending mode and opacity manually from 100% normal --> 25% Screen or whatever every single time I make a new shape. The styles menu works kinda well, but it's not really the same speed/convenience for me. Thanks for the help! -
I am using the trial version of Affinity Designer and am trying to figure out printing options. I've read through Help topics and came across this hoping for a solution: To print a selected artboard: From the File menu, select Print. (Optional) In the Print dialog, click Show Details to access advanced printing options. Adjust the settings in the dialog. Click Print. To print an individual artboard:From the File menu, select Print. In the Print dialog, click Show Details. Ensure Scaling and Artboards is selected from the pop-up menu below the Orientation setting. From the Artboards pop-up menu, select a named artboard. Adjust the settings in the dialog. Click Print. However, I don't see "Show Details." Any suggestions? Carl -

I have recently purchased affinity. I have downloaded the software and have it on my computer's desktop. I have entered the product key and gone through the installation process. Whenever I try to open it a message appears which says: This application requires one of the following versions of the .NET Framework .NETFramework, Version=v4.6.2 Do you want to install this .NET Framework version now? I have downloaded this Net framework thing but the problem persists. I have deleted and downloaded everything again and again but the same thing happens every time. Can someone please help me? Thank you -
Hi everyone, This may seem like a silly question, but I'm having issues exporting an image after editing it. Every time I attempt to save and then export the image, it saves on my desktop as the original unedited image. Here's what I'm doing: After uploading the image to Affinity Persona, I use the selection brush tool to select the desired part of the image that I want to keep, I then use the toggle quick mask tool to add a white background to the image. I then save and export the image to .PNG or .JPEG and both files still save as the original, unedited image instead of the image I edited with the white background. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks very much in advance for your help! -
1. How do I crop in fixed size? Example: 18x24cm - 300dpi ( or 18x24cm 72dpi.) 2. Print plugin Canon IFP5100? (Photoshop). These things are a must for me if I should switch to affinity from adobe! Regards Jørgen

I'm new to Affinity Photo and after becoming comfortable with Adobe CS6, like many, had to find alternatives to Photoshop since they went to a subscription based application. Since my question is lengthy and involved, is there any more experienced AP users willing to correspond with me via email? I design fabric using images I have taken of many subjects and run two documents at one time, one a image I have taken and the other a New Document and is the recipient of 32 to 64 identical images dragged into the New Document. Can I get the last version of affinity photo that worked on mac 10.8.5 please !!! 1.5 versions period does not work I can't open raw files with out it constantly crashing it's totally unsuable for me now ! I only have 10.8.5 still because of other apps that no longer support the newer OS and I can't move forward yet can I please just get that last version again please! Nothing was wrong with the last version either I just updated because it said it was compatible and every update has been awesome but this last update is not for me and I cannot edit .cr2 files or .dng files anymore. Give me the last working 1.4 version please and thank you. -
Hey guys, I was able to drag n hold an vector/image onto another vector/image and an purple color indicator will flash once at the bottom object to indicate you can now snap your current selected image/vector base on the bottom vector/image. But now I can't, in not mastered in AD or any other illustrator app, so I not sure where to chance the setting to able it once again. Please help, it's urgently needed! -

I just bought AD for Windows, so I'm looking for help frequently. However, F1 does nothing that I can see, nor clicking on Help in the submenu. Where is Help hiding? -
With the latest 1.5.0.42 beta Help still is not working. I no longer get a script error. But I see this behavior: * Entering a search term produces no results. * Clicking a link, say filter by painting, just causes the display to jump back to the top of the entries. No help information is displayed. In case it helps: Windows 7 64-bit system.

I've attached a screen capture on the error when running the help for Photo for Windows. I searched for help issues, but was unable to find anything. In the help screen the text is expanded for all entries, and I'm not able to collapse the arrow bullets for the main topics. Other than that, each page is displayed properly under the main bullet items.

The text in the title bar gets cut off if you reduce the Help window to its minimum size. (The same happens, to a lesser extent, in Affinity Photo build 1.5.0.37, but I didn't want to cross-post unnecessarily.)

Gentlemen: I was a beta and enjoy using Affinity (although after using photoshop the learning curve is a bit of a problem). I was working on a project the other night when all of a sudden the original interface changed. The layers, effects, adjustments were gone. the tools were gone. I was able to get the tools back but everything was "disconnected". My question is how do I go about getting Affinity back to the original interface, and what I may have done to cause it. There are some things on the Help engine that could be improved: It doesn't highlight search results. I think this is essential, specially because some pages are very long. Search is quite slow when typing the first one or two characters. I noticed some improvement in the latest beta builds, but as of version 1.5.0.29 (Windows) it's stil very noticeable. Help should be context-sensitive. No bookmarks. Many more hyperlinks. (This is not directly related to the engine but to help authoring.) The real power of a good Help system relies on it having hyperlinks whenever possible (think Wikipedia).

Designer crashed after I added a large object to the Assets panel which was located on a second display. Now Designer crashes on launch and I want to uninstall before re-installing the app. Questions: Can I save all my Assets before uninstalling? Where are they stored? I am delighted with Designer and have never had any problems with it up until now. Urgently need to get it back up and running. I'm on a Mac Pro with 12gigs of Ram and lots of storage space. Sierra 10.12 - Designer 1.5.1. Many thanks for any suggestions. -
Greetings! When I use the open tool, and select the photos I want from the main photo menu in apple, it is now converting them from RAW to JPEG, and changing the file name to "fullsizeoutput" followed by what used to be the DSC number. I never had this problem before the update. Please help! -
I know I have inadvertently done this in the past but now that I want to --- I can't figure it out. IE; I am creating a design to print on fabric that is sort of a word toss of a child's name in several different fonts. My plan was to make each font for "jane" a different layer but may want to change that particular font/name to ' john' and when I change one it will change all those names in that font at the same time ---- I would appreciate the help. Thanks
