Hi, Please help, I am trying to turn a colour photo into a b & w pencil sketch, but I am struggling to get detail on the finished image. I want to apply this to nature photos, and right now I am trying it out on a kingfisher photo. I honesty do not have enough knowledge about Affinity to know where I am going wrong. Hey folks, So i've run into an odd bug/feature that i can't find any answers to. Essentially a grouping of paths with the stroke centered on the path looks as desires, but when i group it the group bounds size to the path and not the visible stroke. I realize a workaround would be to have the outer shape have an inner stroke, but i'm hoping to get a better fix. Below is a before and after grouping picture on the paths in question: Before grouping Before grouping with bounding boxes shown After grouping With bounding box shown You can see that the group bounding box fits to the path and not the stroke and hides the overflowing stroke as a result. Additionally, this only happens when grouping them all together, the corner shapes are grouped and do not show this effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Linc.

Hi. I'll cut to the chase here because I'm just about in tears over what seems like a very dumb problem. I was working on a vector design (a simple candy heart) and trying to get a feel for the tools. This is my first time with Designer (trying out the trial version), but I've been using similar programs for decades. I accidentally used the Artboard Tool. When everything disappeared, I undid the action. Except nothing was undid. The Artboard is gone, but I cannot see any of my objects, despite them being visible on the layers menu. No matter how far I go back on the history menu, none of my objects reappear, and if I try to select anything it shows "0 objects". This is no "Artboard" on my layers. This was within the first ~10 mins of using this program, and I have spent the better part of the last hour searching the forums trying to undo this one simple click, to no avail. When I try to view the full image at 100%, it's suddenly almost non-existent. I'll include my view mode panel as well.

I've noticed that affinity photo is slowing down a lot, and I've downloaded lots of fonts from google and I want to remove the ones I no longer use, but I can't. I can't find any information on this at all and simply deleting the file doesn't do anything. Can anyone help me please?- 5 replies

Hey! So for some reason both my Designer and Photo show whites as yellows. I cannot fix this and I definitely know it isn't a problem with my monitor since I can clearly see the photos I edit as normal before importing them into Photo. Also, in Designer, the empty background is white, but the white brush is not. Please help. Thanks! Examples:

Hi Friends, Good morning and I hope you all are well! I have been looking for an answer on this and have not been able to find it. Perhaps one of you can shed some light on this. In the image below you will see 3 separate curves. The first curve has an image/overlay paper texture clipped to it as you can see in the layers panel. Is there a way to clip/overlay this texture on all 3 separate curves at once WITHOUT using the Add function to make all of the curves one? (More specifically, I would like to apply the texture to all 3, while still being able to move and stretch each curve individually.) Thank you

Hi made a miltipage document and converted to PDF. Use the print from the pdf or file that document uses, but there a pic that not printed, have seen it happen in InDesign and linked to above postscript. Also seen it when I work long time with a digital printing. I would like to know how fix it. The screen has the pic but not when it prints. If affinity want to get in contact please do. I started making more images in affinity photo again and I've noticed that the colors are extremely off. The colors appear much whiter than they should be. Here is an example: The grayness scale RGB Color What the actual color is As you can see, the grayness is much higher than it should be. When I use a color picker, the image's rgb is 43,43,43, which is much higher than it should be. I can't make any accurate dark pictures on Affinity Photo because of this. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi, 1 - I have been working on this Publisher file for two days and now I can't open it. It seems it is corrupted. I have also tried to open the document with the beta version, without any luck. Could you please have a look to the file and try to send back a recovery version? Thank you! 2 - I suggest it would be a great thing to get an auto-save folder with increments by default to avoid any problems like this (I have lost two days of work which I believe is a serious matter). Please help. I downloaded Publisher and it would only let me place it in Dropbox, but It won’t save or open it in Dropbox. I have both Affinity Photo and Designer and didn’t experience this problem. -
I am using Affinity Photo and I have exported an image, but the colors are all f'd up on some programs. Attached are some images showing the discrepancy. I have no clue why they won't display correctly on most programs, especially since some are displaying it correctly.

The current help icon does not provide identifying labels for the options in the contextual tool bar along the bottom of the screen. It would be great to have the contextual help extend throughout the UI. For example, some of the icon options in the Node tool’s contextual tool bar are cryptic at first glance. My affinity designer keep lagging once I draw a fair amount of art on my canvas and after a while it crashes its so annoying and never did this till yesterday pleeeaasssseee HELP!! I need to get my art done I've tried all I can. restarted my whole computer shut it down all. I have an MacOS... Processor - 3.4 GHz intel Core i5, Memory - 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (I've deleted several things from my Mac and have lots of space for more) Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2 GB. how many hours does it take for a stack of 35 images to load before i can start editing im getting very frustrated with this crap now people have viewed my last post but nobody has commented on how to fix this naff programme it seems with every new update for this software it makes my computer run slower and takes longer to perform any task in the programme do the developers of this programme actually read any of these threads and can offer advice or a solution to this problem or am i just typing in to oblivion -

Hey all, Basically I went into Affinity for the first time in months and when I clicked to open the software nothing happened. Uninstalled and re-installed version 1.7.2 at first with no results. Then I uninstalled and went into the website where i got 1.7.3, installed and when i clicked on the icon to run it the icon pops up on the bottom left for a few seconds then disappears. I always ran it with task manager and same thing, affinity designer only pops up for a second or two before disappearing. I also ran repair from the installation file but it didn't fix or say anything was wrong. Another thing possibly worth noting is that when I type in affinity designer on the search bar, the app icon does come up even after being unistalled although when i click once again nothing happens. I also tried going into the install location and when i pressed the "designer" entity nothing happens either except for the icon popping up for a few seconds. This is the only app that isnt working for me. -

Hi, I'm running Designer + Photo 1.7.xxx on a Windows 7 SP1 64bits computer, not so connected and updated by Microsoft Update. There are several scripts errors when I launch the Designer / Photo offline help. What are the requirements for having this help section working 100% if possible ? Sometimes I've noticed too examples images before/after not showing too. I'm ok to update only needed Microsoft packages, but don't want to update the whole system to stay on a fluid computer (my personal point of view !)... if possible. Thx !

Hi Everyone, I just got a brand new Huion 1060 plus (8192 Presure Sensitivity) with 8gb SD card. But unfortunately, after I finished installing, I tried presure pen, it didnt work at all. Tab can be well connected. There is only the pen can't be used (not connected). Can anyone help me? There is some kind of setup for pen types? Thanks in adavance! -
I am wanting to move from Photoshop to affinity but all my existing psd files are printing out alot darker than they do from Photoshop. Is there a way to sort this as this will be the only reason i dont move to affinity
