I am sure this is mostly user error but it would be appreciated if someone can point out if I am doing something wrong. So I use the Color picker alot. The problem is, every time i sample a color, it moves to the background circle on the color panel. This means when I goto my pixel or paintbrush, I have to switch the foreground and background colors every time to get the color I picked. Am I just missing something when I am trying to sample colors? I apologize if this is something simple that I am just messing up on You can see I sampled the color gray/blue on the color picker. It shows it on the front most color circle. But then when i select another tool, it moves it to the background color forcing me to switch it every time. Is there just an option I keep missing? I appreciate the assistance.

If you choose to scroll the "table of contents" from Ibooks it is not hierarchically organized - but the screen is full. Best way to find something after that is to do a search. Its very comprehensive. (My continuing love/hate relationship with technology.) Its a spectacular resource on an iPad Pro. If you have an android tablet, go to Google Play and search for "epub reader". -
Hi, I bought affinity photo on July 8th, and everytime I open it up it shows affinity photo 1.5 I was wondering if I already have this? And if not how do I download it? Thanks in advance -
I have a problem in affinty photo, I have previously made raw photos and saved in AD photo format, (the default saving format of the program, but now they don’t open anymore, or when they do open all kind of color spots appear, Some raw pictures I can’t get open anymore, and when I get the ad photo which appears to be prefect, and I try to export this as a jpeg or tiff file it looks as if all the colors are running trough and you get just a bunch off colory lines instead off a picture. Sometimes I get the same problem when I take a raw image and develop it and when I try to export it it gets collory spots . Who can help solve this or what can this be, I work with a mac pro with macOS sierra -
I have my photo saved als AFphoto ; but they don't open any more ? if they do open the colour are just like a blure thanks in advance for the help Paul

I have had the trial version of Affinity for several days now. I can't seem to find where you offer any frames, the stuff you can add to a photo. Is there any in Affinity? More important is this question. Does Affinity have an ORGANIZER to which I can upload images from my camera to Affinity? Or, do I have to use Affinity only as a second software application for editing? Thanks for any help. -
Hi Just a quick question. How do I do this type of thing on Affinity Designer? (I'll see if I can attach an image, can't do it when submitting the topic) I'd like to explore better logo and icon designs but don't know how this can be replicated on AD. Thank you. Oliver -
Hi Community, I just bought Affinity Designer but it says my account is non-existent when I try to reset password. I had bought it on one computer but was going to try to download it on another computer. I use Windows 10 on both PCs. Thanks! -
I opened AD today and everything was where it always is. I switched over to Pixel Persona to work on some art and my Persona Toolbar vanished. I have to go into the AD dropdown menu to switch back to Draw Persona but the toolbar still does not appear. It's just a grey or black blank bar. I have restarted the program, updated it and even uninstalled it to reinstall it and the same thing keeps happening. Any help would be appreciated. -
Hello, I have Affinity Design and am thinking of purchasing Affinity Photo, but I have one question. Is Affinity Photo compatible with other programs like adobes photoshop? I need to edit documents on photoshop for school, but was wondering if I could do my work in Affinity Photo at home, then send the doc as a PNG, or JPEG etc to the school which has photoshop? thanks :) -
I continue to notice forum questions that indicate newbies getting lost in the 'classic' ways such as not having pixel layers selected, dragging layers accidentally into child positions, getting confused by Affinity-specific terminology, Affinity doing things differently to Photoshop, etc I wondered if there was some way to have a 'newbie help' option that pops up notes when things are done wrong. Sure, you can't catch everything, but maybe you can do enough to rescue a decent number of people who might otherwise abandon Affinity for another product.

Hi, I have the Affinity Photo Trial Version, I am planning on buying the product but as I was testing it out I noticed that neither the text on the left bar nor the mesh warp tool on the left bar were there. Will these be there in the full verison. I do use Windows. Please let me know. Thanks!

I would welcome a dedicated app, for iOS and maybe mac, with just the help information that is in AP. Then I could use AP on my iPad and read the help on my other iPad that doesn't run AP. Or maybe read the help on a mac or an iPhone. I've read posts from people asking for the help as a PDF or online, and I assume a help app would answer these needs. Presumably it would be relatively easy to keep the contents of a help app up to date.

I use these forums quite a bit to discover how to use Affinity better. These forums however… I'm not sure what is powering them, I guess InVision? I think this is a sub par experience for a number of reasons: - Does not respond effectively to mobile devices - login/lout out is clunky and I often loose my session and have to re-login - Feels super old This last point is hard to nail down but should be fairly apparent. It feels like using a bbs/phpbb form from 2002~ish. There are a lot of great tools for managing communities and forums and as someone who used to work with clients who used InVision is not a good option. Hey guys, I have created a logo and when i export it to PDF and open it the glitter tent opening i created from a shape turns into pieces, I've played around with layers and i don't know why its doing this? Then i just opened the exported SVG file of this and the whole glitter shape is gone , the white triangle which is the opening has also disappeared and the black tent its self is just there, why :( ? I'm sorry if this is a silly question but i have never had this issue before. Would it have something to do with the grouping? How ive exported it? What am I missing. Attached pictures are : 1 is a screen shot of my PNG file open which is clearly right and then the PDF open next to it with the glitter tent opening in pieces, and then the 2nd one is a screenshot of when i open the file in SVG ? Thank you and I appreciate anyone taking the time to read this and possibly help me out here xo

See the title! Whenever I try to apply a color from my swatches to text, or a shape, or curves, etc, instead of changing the fill, a stroke appears on the item with the color I'm trying to fill with. This wasn't happening before today! I'm not sure I changed anything, although maybe I hit some hotkeys by mistake without noticing. Cheers! -
Just finished watching a video on the help feature in Affinity Photo. The video showed "pinning" the screen on the side so you could work in Affinity and have the help screen available at the same time. In the video they are using a Mac. Can this be accomplished in Windows. I can not seem to achieve this result. Thank you. -
I spent a while when first getting used to AP swearing at it because it seemed to be 'broken'. But then I found I'd done something wrong. A typical example is trying to clone from an adjustment layer. Wouldn't it be nice if (WIBNI) AP noticed that I was doing something stupid and popped up some kind of help. One day the computer's built-in cortisol detector will help spot user stress, but until then, a bit of intelligence could save nephyte idiocy and help build a loyal following. [Aside: Machine intelligence doesn't always need much intelligence. Back in the 80s I was working on a wordprocessor system. We did a 'special' version and put it on our secretary's machine. All it did was count backspace frequency and, when a threshold was hit, would pop up a box saying 'You're tired. Go and have a cup of coffee'. She was amazed and became convinced it was reading her mind.]

Hello All, We use both Affinity Designer and Corel Draw X8. On occasion, we need to create fonts, and need to export them to TTF or other formats. Is there a workflow in Designer to create/modify and export true type fonts (or other fonts)? Corel Draw contains bugs that they have never bothered to fix in their font "features". If Affinity has similar font features, this may cause us to drop Corel Draw altogether. Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks... Mark -
Hi Folks, Attached is a work in progress art deco air show poster I am putting together. I have never been the artistic type so I am struggling with coming up with a suitable way to add shading to the plane. As you can see there are 3 planes on my poster (There will only be one in the end) each one is an option I am looking at. 1 is white with no shading but I think it looks too clinical. 2 is one with a grey gradient added and 3 is a white one with a further black layer added over the top with the opacity reduced and with the noise increased. Hi, I just started using the program but throughout several video tutorials I have come to notice that I don't have the "New Live Filter" option on my Layer menu. Any ideas on why isn't it showing? And how can I get it to show? I'm currently running version 1.5.4 Thank you!
