I can't find any way to change either the noise or opacity setting of a global colour. The "Edit Global Colour" pop-up doesn't have these options and changing the noise/opacity just sets it for the currently-selected layer. I've tried double-clicking in various places and different menus but can't figure out what to do. Am I overlooking something obvious, or is this a trick that has been missed?

How can I duplicate an artboard with content on overlying global layers? If I duplicate Artboard 1 the content on the global layer is not shown on Artboard 2. Sure I can copy the global content on each artboard and then move it to the global layer, but this will make me crazy in a complex documents with a lot of elements... Is there a elegant way to solve this problem? Thanks!!!

I've searched around and while I see people asking about this, doesn't seem like there's any kind of formal request for this feature so here's one. Essentially it's what the title says, please add the ability to create, edit and apply global colour swatches in illustrations and designs done on the iPad. Global colours are a fundamental part of vector design and illustration, the need for this is vital! Right now the only workaround is to create them on the desktop and then open the file on the iPad, but this has limitations besides not being able to edit the swatches on the device itself. For example if you apply a global to an object, the swatches panel will not indicate in any way that the colour is apply to the object, unlike in the desktop where you can see the swatch highlighted. Thanks!

Loved the recent updates serif have been pushing for Affinity Designer, but I do have a very minor proposal for scaling with regards to layer effects. Currently how they work is that the scaling will only apply to a specified layer, opening the panel with another layer selected will reset the toggle making the scaling independent between layers. This actually worked very well, no issues, but one drawback I find is that when working with an artwork with multiple layers and multiple effects there is a need to constantly check the toggle for each layer in order to make sure that the visuals stay the same in the event you find the need to resize. The initial thought I have is maybe a global toggle that will apply to all layers would be a really awesome timesaver. But come to think of it, maybe it would be an even easier implementation if the panel saves the state of the toggle for every new layer after that? That way it's still independent for each layer, at the same time, if I am starting on an artwork and need to scale effects I could just toggle the option on the first layer and wont need to toggle each time a layer is created.

Global Colours by default
Dazmondo77 posted a topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
I've not seen anyone suggest this yet - I've already requested in the Designer pages - massive time saver = Global colours by default maybe with a pref option to turn it off (can't think of a reason I'd want to turn off) Also FX scale on by default could save a ton of bother Also rasterising artwork on a page should be able to rasterise to bleed - so frustrating that it currently crops to the trim size -
Independent of "Toggle Source Preview" being ON or OFF, an not wanted/needed Source Layer can not be deleted. The complete Focus Merge process must be done again . May be I am interpreting the trash bin in a wrong way, but what else should it be for...? I also tried to drag and drop the unwanted Focus Merge layer (the blue, selected one) into the trash bin, but this didn't help either... Greetings, Roland

Is there a way I can do this globally? I decided that adding a colored background to my 20 artboards would make it easier to see. I just did a bunch of logo mock-ups and wanted to see if there was a faster way to handle this. I didn't really notice any way to easily change the BG on all the boards so I created a symbol and slowly duplicated and dragged it from board to board and had to redo all my layers to make sure it actually was at the bottom of the board on the correct board but if there is a faster way to handle this I'd be happy to hear it for the future.

Hello, I'm having a problema with affinity photo on macOs (mojave)... I can't export EPS files, it appears empty, I think that is because of file authorization, something like that... because when I opened the file in Designer, it asked authorization, I granted and I was able to export, but won't work with photo and I don't know how to authorize, because it don't ask me anymore... thank you

Issue / Task: Imagine you are creating a user interface or some other dynamic / modular design consisting of a variety of elements, sharing certain properties, such as color stroke width fx and many more Possible Applications: Creating dynamic, unified color palettes for multiple buttons, knobs, input fields etc. Changing global or semi-global stroke properties on the fly Re-using existing designs while applying new schemes for a new entry in the series swiftly Speeding up changes to large-scale projects in general Related Solutions: While Symbols allow for document-wide changes in properties within copies of the same object or shape, when working with a diverse range of shapes, groups and nestings can be tedious to impossible. Inheritances would speed up things considerably and add a whole range of possibilities. Implementation Suggestion: I would imagine the following workflow to be quite effective and straightforward, at least as far as my routine is concerned: Select and copy the source element Select the element to inherit a property Navigate to a window / tab with any property (such as color, stroke, fx etc.) Click the Inherit Button, a small, universal icon found in all studio tabs and windows. This property is now linked to the source element. Changing this specific property within the source element also affects this element. Click the Inherit Button again to unlink / disable the inheritance. Copying elements with an inheritance would preserve the inheritance for the copied element. I hope this makes reasonnable sense - of course I would be thrilled to find out something similar was already available in Affinity Designer. Cheers!

Hello, I couldn't find an answer to this so apologies if I missed. I'm not a heavy user of the Designer but I thought it should be straight forward: Designing an UI for embedded device with multiple screens. I created separate artboards for each screen, all scattered across so I can see them all. I used the Export Persona to create slices for each on-screen element (buttons etc.). I need their coordinates to use in the code. While in Draw Persona, every element has XY coordinates related to the artboard. When I switch to Export, the elements that are not on the "initial" artboard have their XY related to that initial artboard. As example: - two artboards 320x240 px. side by side - both have a button in top left corner (and in the Draw Persona both have their XY = 0,0) - slice of the button on the first arboard has XY = 0,0 - slice of the button on the second has XY = 370,0 I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe my approach is not right. Attached image shows example slice in a tiny artboard (71x85 but the element's XY=644,476):

Is it possible to have a global layer or layer group that could be applied to all artboards in one file? use case: I'm doing a website design and have a header, navigation, and/or footer in use on all artboards, but make a revision to content/copy/dimenions/whatever I'd like it to update across all artboards in the same way that changing a global color does. Is this currently possible? If not where do I make a feature request?

Hey there, what I'm missing so far regarding the swatches panel: - Easy renaming workflow of swatches with F2 and Tab, and to go further: something like Renamy would be even more awesome - Select and delete/copy multiple swatches. At least it should be possible to click/select and delete via DEL-key to easliy clear up the swatches - "remove unused colors"-option to quickly clean up a palette - usecase would be mostly the the document-related palettes - Convert already added swatches to Global/Spot-Colors - Ability to easily set spot-color-name the same as swatch-name and vice versa (without copy-paste, perhaps with a checkbox in the settings of each swatch) - Missing a direct "Add current color to palette as Spot Color" very much! - The to "Add current color to palette [...]"-Icons are not very distinctive. I would've added at least a big triangle in the left bottom corner of the button regarding the "add as global color" option to suit the appearance of those color in the swatch-list/grid below - Setting/checkbox/action to add swatches via "create Palette from document/image" directly as Global/Spot-colors. - Indicator to see in which Colormode the color originally was created and then have the ability to quickly switch color from RGB to CMYK-Mode and vice versa (perhaps even be able to determine the rendering/conversion while doing so) Greetings, Johannes.

Good evening everyone! I'd like to propose the following feature: "Derived colors" --> "Derived color is a color that dynamically depends on another color (a Global Color in Affinity case). It is derived from the parent color using some of the built-in color operations" • change opacity • change hue • change brightness • change saturation • apply shadow • apply highlight • copy You can watch Derived Color in action in a software like PaintCode here on YouTube I hope you'll agree how great and efficient for productivity this is :) This concept was far before used into the amazing Opacity.app which still yet, provide some unbeaten feature anywhere else. Cheers,

Is there a way to apply the "scale with object" globally, like a preference after the fact? I have a bunch of objects that I should have had the "scale with object" turned on for as I created them. Just wondering if there is a way to apply it now or do I have to individually select each and every object and apply it manually? Thanks.

Good Morning, I'm just finishing my first piece of artwork produced with Affinity, and really enjoyed the process so far. However I would like to experiment with some different colours schemes, Is there a way to select and edit colours rather than replacing individually? or can I set up colour pallets with global settings?
