  1. 😁 Hello everyone! Today I want to show you a little more of my art with this preview of a tutorial made for Vectorize Club students, where I create this icon for games! 2. For creating seamless patterns the new pattern layer is very useful but lacks some features for my workflow in creating seamless textures with higher resolution than 1k. Problems: I need my texture to span over the whole document for textures up to 4k, which is not even supported by the Layers-> New Patterns Layer. This only supports layers up to 1k. My workaround of creating a 4k selection and then create a pattern layer from this selection yields a 4k pattern layer but leads to frequent crashes where I just loose all my progress. So it sometimes needs several tries until the creation workes without a crash. If the pattern layer spans over the whole document you loose the possibility to see how the texture looks on repeated pattern. I would love to have a feature like in Krita or also requested in this thread: The work around to simply go for a 8k document to have a 4k seamless texture to see how it repeats is quite performance hungry and leads to more slower workflow. Suggestion: Add a seperate wrap around mode or add the possibility to see the repeated pattern over the extends of the document boarders for working on full size patterns. This would help to create gameart in affinity photo much more efficient!
  3. Does affinity has tiling feature like in Adobe Animate or Krita? The feature I am asking about is wrap around mode in Krita. Example : In Animate : Check the last gif for example. I want to make nice looking tiles in affinty designer. As long i can make that I am willing to switch to affinity. All I want is nice fast workflow for making 2D game art in affinity. I have attached some references of what i want to do. https://www.gamedevmarket.net/asset/jungle-tile-set/ As advertised in the affinity designer page here. The artwork they shown is from a game too. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/designer/ pyxel edit tiling.mp4
  4. Greetings fellow travellers! I am designing a board game, both mechanics-wise and graphcially, though I am a real beginner at graphical design so I have outsourced some of the graphcial design, such as the game board and the cover image. What I do want to make myself though are the playing cards. I have been using a simple program since March to create cards, but I am going to use Affinity to create the final card design. Since I am not very advanced, I want to stick to a clean and simple card design, and I still want it to look great! So I would be grateful if you just had a look at the attached cards and say what you think of them. There a five cards I am attaching, and their design is not completely uniform now. I am going to make it easier for you though - just answer the questions below, and then add more comments if you like. 1) The "Travels of Marco Polo" card uses a different font - which font looks better? 2) All cards except "The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact" have a grey border around the main text body. Does it make a difference? 3) The text in "Travels of Marco Polo" is justified (it always takes up a full row) - which looks better? 4) Does the font-size matter? 5) The last card has a "secondary color" (grey) on top - some cards will have this. Would you rather have this somewhere else? (It cannot be below the header.) If you made it through these points, or if you just don't like lists - feel free to add any other comments. Also note that some cards will have images, but some will only have quotes, and a big challenge is to find a quote frame that can be reused on all cards, regardless of the colors of the card. PS. The card icons on top are soon being updated and made more uniform!
  5. La posibilidades que aporta pixel persona son fantasticas, me estoy acostumbrando poco a poco a affinity designer y realmente me encanta.
  6. Zenquarium is a happy iOS pet/aquarium game, with all game art made in Affinity Designer. Affinity Designer is hands down the best graphic program I've ever used. I've dabbled with a lot of programs since I was young, but am mainly a programmer. Having a tool as thoughtfully designed as Affinity Designer turned what could have been a very painful process into one I absolutely loved. (Our app store link if you're curious: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id1238993898) Some plants and characters... A screenshot of everything together. Icons also done in Designer!
