  1. I draw on Pixel Persona and after a while, ca 5min of drawing it just freezes up.... . And my PC is not the issue here. Drivers are up to date and my PC is more than good enough for a couple drawings. Issue was on 1.83 and still there with the newest update. OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363 Processor AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor, 3793 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s) 132 GB DDR4 Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
  2. I purchased publisher (1.7.1) on June 3, 2019, for my MacOS and received my product key on the 20th. Shortly after this, on opening the app, an "update" screen appeared, but none of the buttons or link contained work. Instead, if I try to select any option, it freezes. My only option has been to close the popup to access Publisher. I also have Photo and Designer, which work fine. In fact, I recently did an online update at the App Store for Designer and noticed it does not recognize that I already have Publisher, just the other two. Something is amiss. Please advise. Thank you.
  3. Hi there, Please can you help? Affinity Photo keeps freezing when I try to move a layer (i.e. about half a dozen mouse clicks after launching the software). The file size is small (less than 1MB). I'm running AF on a Wacom Studio Pro (Windows 10 Pro) with 16MB ram and 399GB free disk space. I have reinstalled the computer which has not helped this issue. Please can anybody point me towrads some things to try to resolve this? It is the only App crashing, everything else seems to be fine. Many thanks in advance for any help you could kindly offer.
  4. Hello guys, I recently ran into some freezes with the version 1.8.3.641 of Affinity Designer on Windows 10 when using the Color Picker Tool. I haven't tested this with previous versions. Most but not every time I use the color picker tool while some objects selected (doesn't seem to matter which size or number) my whole computer freezes. After a while it's possible to use use the mouse again and switch to other programs. Clicking into Affinity will lead to another temporary freeze, eventually leading to a windows alert about the software not responding. Watching the Taskmanager shows that Affinity keeps using an continuously increasing amount of memory and disc capacity...seems to be some kind of memory leak there. If Affinity Designer is closed with the Taskmanager the system goes back to normal after a few minutes The settings of the color picker tool don't seem to make a difference for the occurrence of the bug. Using the color picker tool with no objects selected works fine There's no problem on re-opening Affinity Designer and work again (with other tools) You'll find my computers specifications in the attached image. Maybe someone else could test if the problem is an overall issue. Hope it helps on improving this great software. Stay healthy.
  5. Hi, I have recently started using Affinity Designer on my Macbook Air. Each time I save I get the spinning wheel and need to force quit and restart the app. Fortunately my work is saved, but it is a slow way to work. I have installed any updates I have seen in hope to solve the issue and am currently running 1.8.3. My computer is running Catalina 10.15.4. Can you please help? Thanks, Annika
  6. Running the current affinity designer 1.8.3, When I try to edit the vector brush settings in Affinity designer on Windows 10, the application freezes and I have to force quit. I've tried restarting the machine, new empty file to work from, etc... What should I do? Update: installed the Windows update and it seems to be working now...It still freezes at times every now and then but then recovers and I can keep moving forward.
  7. After make a selection and inversed this and try to copy it the whole system freezed. I used a wacom intuos 4 driver with this, i had to use the mouse to get to unlock the system again. Don't know if this is a bug. There was no expended GPU or memory at the moment. Windows 10 home 28 gb ram i5 gpu an nvidia 1050ti
  8. Almost every time I run a boolean operation to divide or unite vector curves in AD, it freezes on me as shown in attached image. I have to force quit and restart the app and try again in smaller doses or move it to Illustrator and try again there. I have an iMac with 12GB of RAM - I don't know if the issue is I need more RAM, or if it's still a bug Affinity is fixing? I ordered more RAM recently, so I'll be able to try it again after installing it to see - but I wanted to see if anyone had any info pertaining to this issue - thanks!
  9. Hello everyone. I have a similar problem with the program freezing up. My computer is strong enough for it to handel anything, so there is no problem with that. I draw with affinity photo and not long into the process and the program freezes. I can't change tools and I can't click on anything else. The only thing I can do is minimize the window, but that is all. The canvas size is not big and I don't have much else open which could cause the freeze. I do use a wacom tablet and windows 10. If there is a solution to that I would be grateful. I have been waiting to have a strong enough pc to use such a program properly, so it's quite the let down now that it freezes up. Already thanks for any help.
  10. I've had this happen on more versions than the most recent one. I'm on Windows 10 and have a Wacom but the last time it happened I wasn't clicking with the Wacom pen (it was plugged into USB port just sitting off to the side pen not even close to it), but was using my trackball to click with. I had two files open which weren't even 100x100 pixels and not by any means excessive amount of layers (under 30). My system has enough RAM and empty hard drive space to support heavy load gaming (not concurrent to Affinity being open) so memory being part of the issue seems very unlikely.
  11. Version: 1.8.2.620. I did not have this problem with previous versions. It seems to be a problem with Wacom Tablet. Not related to a specific action. Last time it occured with Mesh Warp. At a certain point Afiinity Photo "freezes". Everything still seems the same, but nothing happens anymore. Try to save the file, but Affinity does not respond. Misty screen. The only possible action is to force ending Afiinity. And yes: work lost! Please do something about this. Kind regards, Ben
  12. Downloaded Affinity Publisher 1.8 today. Completely useless. Opens document then freezes ... and doesn't unfreeze ever so have to unplug laptop to switch off and start again. Only downloaded as version was using previous day started freezing as well, though not as badly. I am not a technical person at all. I am just making children's books with text and photos (around 70 pages-- around 50% photo pages 50% text pages-- and photos are linked not embedded, not by choice but seems that was all it could handle) and very very simple graphics. So it's no use asking me or sending me any technical stuff. Having wasted a lot of time in the last 2 days I am up to here with this programme as it is! PLEASE can somebody tel me which previous version is most stable? I think I can access 1.7.3 OR 1.7.1.404 from my downloads file (though haven't yet tried to re-install either). Is there something better and how do I access that. Help would be gratefully appreciated. Amy
  13. In Affinity Photo while working on an an image, I'm not able to pan the image using the View (hand) tool while zoomed in. I'm trying to follow one of Drippy Cat's Tutorials, using a DNG file he provides. This is not specific to this file though. Once I have several layers, after zooming in, the Hand tool ceases to work. To reproduce, open an image, duplicate the background, for a base layer to start with your processing. Rename it if you wish. Apply a Layer Blend Mode to the duplicated layer (base). Per the tutorial I applied Soft Light. Adjust Opacity to taste. Apply a Layer Mask Paint out areas (Basic, Large, Soft Brush) Adjust Opacity Rename Right-Click to Merge Visible. At this time I was zoomed in to the image, using the Zoom Tool (Z) and my pen tablet, dragging to zoom in/out. I tried to move/Pan the image and the View tool (hand) would not respond. I can not move the document/image. I've tried this with my mouse as well as my pen tablet (Wacom Intuos 3 Small). I can do other things, change tools, but can not pan. If I save and then close the document, then reopen, the view tool works again.
  14. Hello! I noticed today that the most current IOS 12 assets freeze Affinity Designer for me. I downloaded the IOS 11 assets - didnt make no difference. I reset the entire program and it still has the same problem. I can usually place ONE asset onto the canvas and the second one freezes the entire program. Oddly enough the Affinity Grade UI Kit works perfectly and I have the current version of Affinity Designer. Dont know what else to do 😅 Maybe someone else has an idea what could cause this issue?
  15. I was in the process of adding multiple layers of curves via the OPERATIONS ADD button, then the ADD process bar shows and seems to be busy but never completes the task. Also, there is a visual "distortion" (in the "i" of "life". The program seems to be frozen without any responses when prompted.

  17. today I was make some items to a picture, after export it the whole Photo freeze up. the only thing I could do was to use ctril-alt-f4 to restart Photo. This was not happen to the beta or 1.7.3. Update: I was working in Photo on a Jpg, used the brush tool and my whole system crashed, only a complet reset of the system was possible. version 1.8.0 There is no crash report find.
  18. I little test in 1.8.0.532 with some brushes with a XPPen and mouse there freeze and are very slow working. Also the mouse can't change back to normal if I use a brush. The problem is more related to the not affinity brushes. Its the same in beta Designer in pixel persona brushes externaly, Also the Frankentoon brushes. I use Windows 10 leatest , i5 4700mhz, 28 gb memory, Nvidea 1050ti 4gb, XP-pen star03 All driver updated and windows ink on.

  20. I have three 960 x 960 work tables at 96 dpi and I cannot export them in Persona mode. The program freezes and I have to close it. I leave some screenshots. I've been attracted to work because of this. I look forward to your help. Greetings.
  21. I've been experiencing a number of app freezes on my iMac while creating a custom brush for a project this morning. Creating a new brush is easy, but as soon as I start changing the values of the "Size" and/or "Spacing" (although I haven't even tried changing other options) in the brush editor, I get the spinning rainbow wheel. I hoped that the app was just processing the request to change those values (and taking a bit longer than usual), but it ultimately froze up completely, resulting in me having to Force Quit Photo. Upon reopening, I tried it again, and the same thing happened over and over again. All I created was a standard Round brush, and when trying to change the values in the brush editor, I experienced app freezes every time, without fail. Entering the value is not an issue, but pressing 'tab' to enter the next value section, or simply clicking in the next box with my mouse results in a total freeze.
  22. Hello, Just wanted to report the following bug: Sometimes when I try to copy something the progam hangs and stay in Not Responding state. The last time it happened was copying while selecting two objects from the layers panel. While this last time it eventually got unstuck, it took around a minute or two to do so. This problem is not EVERY time I try to copy/paste something but sometimes, frequent enough to be annoying and sometimes I just have to force quit it (thankfully haven't lost my progress, it always seems to be able to recover which is good). I took screenshots to illustrate the problem, you can see the tools being stretched (I use them non-docked) while this is happening.

  24. Hello everyone, I'm having an issue where both Affinity Designer and Photo stay at "Not Responding" for about 3 minutes when starting up the program and THEN it opens fully. Basically it is super slow to open. This is a clean install as I just bought the software and there's nothing else running on the PC and the PC is still new and running well so it's clearly a problem with the software. I already tried changing the performance options (Renderer to the dedicated GPU instead of the iGPU which is the default for some reason. Also tried WARP). As for how well the program runs once it opens it's, meh, it runs jerky, zoom animations are slow and panning is super slow (This is NOT 60fps as advertised, more like 5fps) BUT if I use the touchscreen it works quite well, much better than the touchpad. I tried the software on a Mac and it was amazing but on Windows it kinda sucks so far. My Specs are: Windows 10 Home (1903 / 18362.145) Intel i7-8550U RAM 16GB iGPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620 dGPU: Nvidia MX150 EDIT: It appears that panning and zoom have improved somewhat! But sadly it still takes super long to start and still says "Not responding".
  25. I've updated to the latest Designer upon a pop up request to do so. If I click new document from the opening screen, if I close the opening screen and say file new document, or if I go to document setup in an existing document, the whole system freezes and crashes. No error code appears, it just freezes and I can't click anything. I have to open the task manager and shut it down. Please help!
