I just wanted to let everyone know that Monotype, the creators of FontExplorer X, told me via a tweet that they definitely have Affinity products on their radar for integration. This is really good news, however as with all software development they have not been able to provide a timeline. I recommend that everyone who wants font activation and enjoy using FontExplorer X as much as I have over the past 10 years, should contact them and let them know there is a huge community wanting auto font activation. It's such a pain to do it manually. See below. @nathan_ford @monotype This is definitely on our radar, and we agree that Affinity apps are impressive. Thank you for your input, Chris! 2/27/20

Hi! Is possible that FontExplorer X Pro and Affinity Design doesn´t work at the same time? I´ve seen than there are compatible in AP. If i active a font in Font Explorer it´s updated in my AP Fonts Why no in AD? Some suggestions ?? -
Hello, dear folks at SERIF. Hello, dear DTP and Artwork Compatriots. One of the slight niggles – besides the lack of GLOBAL LAYERS (VERY important) – I am missing the direct implementation of Monotype's FontExplorer Po. I KNOW it's an early beta, but it would be lovely to know if you guys already "speak" with Monotype to get a PlugIn sorted as FontExplorer is one of the most used FMS in the Designer World. I have FontExplorer X Pro (v5.0.2) set up to activate on launching AD a set of fonts. The problem is that AD is much faster at starting up than FontExplorer is at activating the font set. I know in Preferences / Miscellaneous there is the useful Reset Fonts button. After pressing it (once FontExplorer has activated my set), all my fonts appear as available. But I was wondering is there was a way to make a shortcut command of this function, or (better yet) a way of scripting it, so, for example, I could use Alfred to open AD and automatically run a script after a defined wait period to reset AD's fonts. In essence, I'm trying to find a better way of dealing with FontExplorer's sluggish activation, so I don't have to open Preferences and find the Reset Fonts button every time I open AD.
