Hi, i have installed the font "doomed" from https://fontzone.net/font-details/doomed. I have installed the font like usually. But when i create a text and i switch the font to "doomed" it doesn't canghe! But if i do the same thing on microsoft word or power point... the font works on those programs. I can't belive the font is not working on affinity! I downloaded around 10 different versions of this font on different websites but, nothing. I have attached a sceenshot. I really need this font for a projeckt. Any help? Thanks Mike

Hi there, this is the first big project using APublisher as a former Serif PagePlus and AI user. For some reason, all "l" and some "." are pixeled as soon as I export them into PDF. See exampel. No change of font, export into curves does make a difference. I never had this issue nowhere before. Do you have an idee, what this may be? Other than that I'm very happy with the Affinity Suite.

I cannot write the letter "u" in Affinity with the font "EB Garamond". It is always replaced by "v". In Pages, oddly enough, the font works fine, so I don't think it's the font itself. Does anyone have any idea if there is a setting for this?

In files that contain many font weights in one text block (e.g. bold part of text), the program loses the font style and selects a different one, e.g. Raleway Bold to Raleway Thin (first paragraph of my example). I attach the jpg file with what it should look like after pdf export, pdf with bug for front and original file. The bug was in 1.9.0, after updating to 1.9.1 nothing has changed. Hey, I found a bug that persists since many versions of Designer, Publisher and Photo regarding fonts and font replacements. I did a small research, but didn't found anything regarding this. It's not a big deal, but still annoying... When replacing/choosing fonts you're normally able to search for them (filter fonts by keywords). In my example in the attachments, it's Open Sans. So when typing in a font family in any dialog, it doesn't search for this font in my font library. Searching for fonts simply doesn't work. So I guess it should work like a search field like it does for example in InDesign (2. attachments) As I said, it's not a big deal, but annoying in daily workflow (especially because the font dialog is so small and if you have a big font collection you need to scroll all the way down to find the font family you need) So, please have a look at it. Publisher has problems using the integrated kerning pairs of Postscript Type1 fonts. It ignores them! I noticed this with extreme pairs like LT. In new OpenType fonts this works correctly. Not so with Postscript Type1 – no matter if the AFM files or only the font suitcases are included. -
Does anyone know if the fonts provided in Affinity Photo and other products grant the user commercial use? -
Hello. I used AD to draw and slice single glyphs for my new comic book font... regular is done, others (italic, bold, bold ilalic) are still in progress. ... and here is the sampler:

Braille Institute of America from Los Angeles has published a free font. Atkinson supposed to be hyper legible for those with poor vision and to be unambiguous. You can get it here: https://brailleinstitute.org/freefont

So I just purchased another copy of Designer for a new PC. Running win10 pro 64 bit. Updated to 1.9 and thought I was ready to go. I downloaded a copy of the Helvetica Neue family (11 styles - Helvetica Neue, and 2 of each of the others i.e. Helvetica Neue Light and Helvetica Neue Lt), activated it on my font manager (FontBase) and only 7 styles showed up, 6 were the same and one was different. So then I deleted the files from the manager (only ones I've added) and installed them directly. Same issue but different ones showed up. Read every forum on reddit and affinity that I could find about this and am still lost. Downloaded the file from three different places (cofonts, etc) all to the same issue. Deleted by hand from windows but only two showed up in the list. As soon as I deleted one, another style would show up. Only five will install at a time as windows says it has already been installed and asks if I want to replace with the other (light vs lt). I am at a loss. Checked other programs to see if it's Windows or Affinity and in paint I can see HelveticaNeue and HelveticaNeue BlackCondensed. In Affinity I see HelveticaNeue italic and 6 options for Bold. If I only install 2 to windows those show up in Affinity. The ones listed in windows are the ones that show in Affinity not the ones that show in Paint. Don't have access to my other pc to test on it right now. Looking like maybe a windows 10 issue? Anyone else come across this?

The font of tooltip on the canvas is not proper when UI is not in a Latin language. e.g. The attached picture is with UI in Japanese. it supposed to be 2オブジェクト(2 objects) Actually this has been a bug since older version but for beta.

Mac Big Sur and AD 1.8.6 update update yesterday. Nearly no issues; biggest thing I've noticed is that when I click the font dropdown, it no longer changes the font as I hover over a font. It used to change in a sort of preview-y manner which I loved. Now I have to click the font and commit the change to see the text in the new font.

The Publisher Workbook uses the Google font Muli for headings in the Alice Book project. The Muli font has since been renamed to Mulish on Google Fonts which means some pages of the workbook are incorrect. Fortunately, you can download the correct font, Mulish, from Google Fonts for use with the Alice Book Project. https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Mulish-

Really need some help & i know its something simple i am not doing or have turned off. I cant seem to insert art into my text - I havent had any issues for over a year with this so im guessing i have turned something off? Your help would be greatly appreciated

I was trying to export a document using the font Montserrat and Open Sans (all downloaded from Google Fonts) in Affinty Designer, but it looks really strange. This is how it looks in the program: This is how it looks on PDF: Notice that the text in the yellow button next to the Direct Message icon became really different from the original text. And also the text close to the watch, below the main yellow text was white and became yellow too. Also, the padlock icon lost the FX when exported. Sorry for my bad english, it's not my primary language.

Font not available Installed font is not available in Designer In Afinity's other apps, yes. In all other apps on the computer yes. Is this a feature or a bug? The help file on the topic is also not correct as I see it. Open the font management: Select Manage Fonts from the Document menu. In my version of Affinity Designer there is no "Document menu" Inappropriate wording maybe

Hello, everyone - Is there any way to access all of the contextual alternates and/or glyphs to a given font on the iPad? I know the glyph browser was just added to the desktop versions, but I wanted to make sure I hadn’t missed it on the iPad. Looking to get some snazzier Zs from Zapfino like I can on the desktop... Hi, I am using the art text box in Affinity photo, and every now and then it will randomly fill in the background of the text box. Even if I delete the whole layer and make a new text box, it will add in the backfill. I have no idea what is triggering it or how to turn it off. The only way I’ve found around it yet is to start a new file all together, which, PAIN. I’ve also tried making sure my secondary color is blank. (See grey behind INKMAGINE in image below.) I feel like this is going to be a simple on/off something but i dunno what.

I am using the script font "Hearth Stone" in the size 128 pt. On screen it looks like expected but when printed the font is cut off at the buttom. Even playing around with "Leading Override" has no effect. Hello. When choosing a font from the font menu in Affinity Designer, I cannot change the font of the text by scrolling. So there is no font preview. Is this a mistake? I had no such issue before the last Big Sur update.

Publisher is great. Started Freezing often. I lost much time in-between my frequent CTRL+S for frequent file saves/restart/freeze cycles. Found many other people posting about freeze and crash items. Noticed several that mentioned connections to fonts. Too many fonts installed, freeze during font selection, etc. ) So I looked for a font I had recently installed and was sprinkled throughout my text. PWSERIFSCRATCH. I removed this font from my text. And still crashes/freeze continued....Ooops, missed two spots. Once all instances of this font were removed from the text box I was working on that spread through 10 pages, the freezing stopped. All is good now. I still reflexively hit CTRL+S every few seconds, but so far it has been working fine. Some thoughts....On a good day, Publisher uses 2GB of memory. Not even Chrome uses this much memory. When it crashes, it seems to be over 2.6GB of memory. Perhaps the font control is working overtime and runs up the memory until my Win10 Microsoft Surface i7-7660 2.5GHz with 8.00GB Memory. Can Publisher be engineered to use less memory?

Hello! So, i was working on a new template for a CD cover, and as i was doing my thing, it crashed. I tried again, same results without knowing why. Then i discovered that writing the word "oeuvre" without the œ is fine, until i press spacebar to go to the next word, the autocorrect from Publisher that switches "oeuvre" into "œuvre" is causing the crash. I searched for similar problems, tried the cache clear, tried different fonts, same conclusion. BUT something is odd because when i'm trying to reproduce the crash, it doesn't come necessarily on the first try (i mean just writing the word oeuvre for example), i can write 5-6 times the word. FUN FACT : c/c the word with the œ included doesn't make the software crash. Sometimes it crashes right away, sometimes i have to write with the text tool, sometimes with the image box converted into a text box, sometimes i can do both. And the crash has two "endings", one is a clean crash, Publisher closes itself, the other Publisher freezes (blabla is not responding), and i have to close it manually in the tasks manager. I've been using Publisher since march 2020, never been bothered, even with the font i used to crashtest the problem, already used the word oeuvre for sure, so the question is : is it a bug from my side, or from the software side ? We open a lot of Illustrator files in Affinity Designer. Normally this works great. Now we have an Illustrator file where the text will not load into AD. There is not a single text block loaded in the document. Not even missing fonts. When we export to PDF from Illustrator and open the PDF in Edge or Adobe Reader the text is displayed perfectly. When importing that PDF into AD everything disappears again. When I use Ghostscript to convert the AI to PDF the PDF is also displayed ok in the browser or Adobe Reader. When opening in AD I get some missing fonts. When I replace them with another font the text loaded is gibberish. It seems like the wrong encoding or something. Also when copying the text from the pdf, the same thing occurs. issue.ai illustrator-exported.pdf ghostscript-converted.pdf -
When exporting a Publisher document to PDF it doesn't embed or display the font correctly. Please see attached screenshot. Font used in the document SF Mono ☞ https://developer.apple.com/fonts/ Publisher: 1.8.4 macOS: 10.15.17
