  1. I've not done anything with AD in what seems like ages so did this today. It's a fish...
  2. A 100% vector yin and yang like graphical image of two fish, created entirely in Affinity Designer, that depicts both separation and attachment.
  3. Hello everyone Clownfish made with Affinity Designer brushes
  4. I totally forgot to post this here, which is really dumb of me, because this is probably one of the most important places that this should be posted! I worked with the lovely folks over at Serif/Affinity to create this official sample artwork for the release of Affinity Designer 1.7. You can access the working file of this illustration both on the desktop as well as iPad versions of Designer by browsing the sample artwork section, which will allow you to have a look 'under the hood' to see how the illustration was put together. The artwork also shows up for a moment in the latest Affinity 1.7 video advertisement, and in two of their latest tutorial videos. Though Designer is primarily a vector based app, I created this piece entirely in the Pixel Persona using raster brushes to show just how versatile the app can be. You can see more of this over on my Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/christidutoit ...and if you'd like to read my ramblings, I did an interview on the Affinity Spotlight blog too: https://affinityspotlight.com/article/christi-du-toit-digital-but-hand-drawn-with-lots-of-grit/ Hope you guys like it!
  5. LANTERN FISH design, made on affinity designer ipad! simple techniques used, we talked about some color techniques as well! enjoy! Next week I will bring others day results. stay tuned on 😎 This tutorial is available on the Tutorial section Brushes used: MVB Package Download below https://gum.co/MVBpack
  6. Fantasy underwater fish lazing around a kelp sea grass bed.
  7. A reworking of another old illustration image in AD. Turns out I did the whole thing in CMYK and had to convert to RGB for web display at the end. I tried converting the AD file to RGB and it looked horrible (the colours suddenly looked too bright and unsubtle), so I didn't save it. It worked better when I converted the finished JPEB in AP. Would that be the proper way to convert?
  8. I made this beetwen my normal duty in job, no sketches just clicking by mouse in AD, I try to prepare this stuff to use later in Moho. Anybody have a experience with pairing these two software? experience
  9. I got Affinity Designer at Christmas last month, and at first just played around to understand the program but I am now starting to do projects. With my small wacom tablet, I drew the two characters who are from the popular video game Overwatch. The robotic looking one is known as Zenyatta, a robot monk. The other is Reaper, a man who died then revived. The 3rd has nothing to do with Overwatch. Just some random thing I felt like making. Supposed to a underwater creature. Hope you like my work :) please keep in mind I just started.
  10. As an exercise, I knocked up this illustration. I'm thinking of migrating to a simpler, more easily achievable style of illustration. Up to now, I've been painting everything in acrylics and then digitising the results. I've found AD every bit as good as Illustrator so far. This took me all morning, so I hope to get faster eventually. All the best, Kevin
  11. I have downloaded the trial version of Affinity Designer on my mac and seriously considering to replace Adobe Illustrator with AD. So far I have done some comic inking illustrations, a couple logo design and some coloured illustrations and I find the app amazing. I find Affinity Design the best App so far for inking purpose in vector. I have tried inking in illustrator, corel painter, Manga studio, photoshop. For raster I like Manga Studio but for vector AD is definitely the best. Though I miss some features of Adobe illustrator for example Auto trace, eye dropper tool, 3D extrude, blend tool to mention. Still Affinity Designer's price is so attractive that it lures an illustrator/designer like me living in India. I hope Affinity will come up with alternatives for premiere pro and after effects also. Thanks
