  1. Hello, I'm not sure if I'm in the right section, so if not, please direct me to the correct section. Two very important files that will not open. When I open in Affinity Photo, the message I get is "This File type not supported." I created this file in the 1.7 program. I'm currently working with the newest version, which is 1.8.3 Any help would be appreciated. product-template-lg.afphoto product-template.afphoto
  2. Can´t open Affiity Photo iPad files (from iCloud) in desktop app. "Can´t open file. This file version is not supported by this affinity-version" ("Die Dateie ließ sich nicht öffnen. /pfad/... Die Dateiversion wird von dieser Affinity Version nicht unterstützt.") Desktop: Version 1.16.11, iPad: 1.8.2 Thanks for your help!
  3. I have a new Gen 7 iPad and have installed Affinity Photo on it. I import my Sony raw files to the iPad using a card reader and the Files app, saving the files in a specific folder I've created. If I open Affinity Photo (AP), I can't see any way of opening a file from a Files folder however I can get around this by opening Files, selecting a file and Sharing it with AP. This way it opens up in AP in the Develop persona. I make some edits and then hit Develop which takes me to the Edit persona. I back out of here and I believe AP automatically saves the file in an unknown format somewhere in the AP app. Now if I decide I want to have another go at developing the raw file, I go back to FIles and share it with AP again. This time however it opens up the previously developed file rather than the original raw file. So is this normal? Is there any better way of dealing with raw files so that I do get the option of starting a fresh raw development? I'd be interested to hear what process others use with raw files Thanks Dave
  4. My files : they don't open anymore (many of them) it says (IT:-) ) (You'll find the message attached which translate as such : "Impossible to upload the file. the access to the file has been lost during the initial upload. The file is going to close. " Needless to say that I haven't changed the location of the file nor any of their links. Thank you for helping me out . Best regards, Emilie
  5. I just started using Affinity Photo and noticed that files produced in Affinity (.afphoto) just show the Affinity icon when viewed in Adobe Bridge. I am able to see thumbs/previews in the Finder on my Mac, just not within Bridge. I am currently using Adobe Bridge CS5.1, so perhaps someone can let me know if this is possible in later versions of Bridge or if there is a way to add the ability to generate previews for Affinity files in Bridge.
  6. Hi there, could someone help me out with this issue about Affinity software? Recently I updated both Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo to v.1.7. After the update, when I try to save, it returns me an error message, which you can clearly see in the image I attached. I have my Desktop connected to OneDrive, uploading anything I save on it automatically. I tried to save the file in the "Download" folder, which is not connected to OneDrive, but it gives me the same error. I love software by Affinity, that's why I bought them, but this way I really can't work with them. Ps. Exporting files in other formats (.psd, svg, ecc...) works fine.
  7. Please add a feature to save all files from gallery screen at once. I made about 100 designs and its hardly to save every file separat. Greetings Hornisse
  8. Hi guys, I‘ve tried to open images from a network storage on my iPad, but the network section on the left side is missing. With every other app, e.g. Documents by readdle, it works and I have got access to the network. Not with affinity. The white picture is from Affinity, the black one from Documents. Are there any settings inside Affinity where I can activate it or is this feature completely missing? I‘m working on a 10.5“ iPad Pro with iPadOs 13.3 Thank you for your help in advance!
  9. Hello Affinity people! Is there a chance we could see larger file previews in Finder / Path Finder? As of this moment all Affinity files' previews are tiny compared to PDF, JPG and all the other types of files, for that matter. Talking about Spacebar previews. Please check screenshots. Thanks in advance! David
  10. Hello, InDesign has a simple keyboard shortcut for Export: Cmd + E. I still don't understand why did you have to use what is probably the worst shortcut ever - Shift + Alt + Command + S. Only Photoshop uses this shortcut I believe and only for the Save for Web command. But Command + E would be just brilliant for Export, don't you think? And everybody would understand it. Everybody could even guess it right away. And - this shortcut isn't assigned to anything in Publisher right now! And it would be really good to have this same shortcut for Export in all of your programs - Publisher, Designer and Photo. Please. Thank you. David
  11. previously, when i saved a document to the icloud, i could go into the icloud files system and click on that document. it would then open back up in affinity photo. This no longer happens. now i have to use the import function, which creates duplicates when i try to save again and completely messes up my workflow. There is no way to set affinity photo as the default opening software for this file type, for some reason. Is this a problem on affinity photo's end? Is there any way to resolve this?
  12. This may very well be related to a recent system update so apologies if this is nothing to do with Affinity but hoping that someone might have an answer regardless. I updated my Mid 2010 Mac Pro to the latest system it can handle 10.13.6 and I've just noticed that when I go to open a file, if I have the dialogue box set to list view then I no longer get the preview of the file showing at the bottom of the dialogue. Now there is just a thin strip of grey. The only way I can see the files is by going into columnar view (which I don't like using) or by pressing the space bar to preview the images. Problem with that is that the images load very large and so take a lot longer to go through. Was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get that functionality back? If it is Apple that have taken this out then seriously have no idea why as it was really really handy having the image preview at the bottom of the window in list view. Thanks for any help with this. Best wishes, Mark
  13. I'm going to start by saying that I don't fully know if this is a Designer error, an error on OneDrive, or it's just that Files app work on a weird way. Looking forward to some clarification on this, and now onto the problem: Open an Affinity Designer file stored in OneDrive by using the Open from Cloud command, notice the document's Modified date/time Do some changes, doesn't really matter what they are, just enough to warrant a file save Save the file by using the Document > Save command, or by going into the home hub and choosing Save on the document's hamburger menu Go iOS's Files app, notice the file Modified date/time Sometimes the file will be updated and show a new Modified time/date, other times it won't update at all and will show the old time, like the file was never changed/saved If I open the OneDrive itself, or check the OneDrive folder on my desktop, I can confirm no file saves happened, so it's not just a visual glitch Closing the file within Designer and then closing the app itself sometimes triggers a file update, other times not so much... I don't really have anything else more specific to say about this issue. I can't reproduce it consistently, but it does happen very frequently. I also can't trigger the upload consistently, but closing the file & Designer works a significant amount of times. I'm using the latest stable versions of iOS 12, OneDrive and Designer, so no beta software here. Any ideas at all about what's going on?
  14. Some time ago I acquired the affinity software and I am was very pleased with its operation, unfortunately, my work team they still do not decide to change and continue with the Adobe suite. In order not to make the story long, it would seem appropriate for me to add an "section" of export to Adobe Illustrator to affinity designer software. It would help me too much to export directly because my colleagues and boss use A.I and it is difficult to pass them the files that I generate in A.F
  15. This happened to me after trying affinity designer ipad for one week with no problem, suddenly the export won't work. when i try to export artboard(s), it opened the Files App but it looks like Files App got wrong command, no "ok" button (see video). now I'm stuck with export button (in dropdown menu, nit from slice) and it's so annoying because i have to export multiple artboard one by one. i tried reinstalling the Files app but it doesn't get normal, haven't tried reinstalling the affinity designer app. please help. 9A7525E6-43A2-4B66-A202-C8D4E58F49DF.MP4
  16. I'm wondering if it's at all possible to somehow import an .fla file into affinity. I'm needing to convert this file to either .eps or an .ai file? Finding it very difficult to convert this as I don't have adobe animator and was sent to me to use. ?? Thanks,
  17. This will be my first post! - I'm a new user, a hobbyist with a newfound passion for graphic design thanks to your applications. I've been working with Affinity now for about 4 months. I'm in love with this program. It's gotten to the point where I've begun to plan porting projects from other programs into your platform. That being said, I'd like to talk a little about the main screen. I would like to suggest an option for a folder view. I like to keep things tightly organized. My Affinity iCloud folder is very tightly organized, but it doesn't show up in my iPad app. I've set my default save location as my iCloud account. I've noticed that, when I create a file, play around a bit, and delete it, it will remain in my iCloud affinity folder. So, after playing around a bit, I often find a bunch of my "junk" files laying around un organized and untitled. I'd been learning the basics of graphic design with Graphic app, and while it is not as powerful as Affinity, it had a really nice home screen, and the file management was spot on. I took a screen shot of it, and wanted to put it here. When I see this screenshot, I get excited imagining what it would be like if my Affinity app's main screen looked and behaved similiarly. Is there any hope for this kind of option? I mean, I know some people like the masonry/wall scrolling feel, but personally. I'd love to be able to turn on an option, and keep things in folders etc. That's it ladies and gents. Just some folder action. Really into this app! Thank you so much for everything you've done. I have spent hours and hours lying in bed or on park benches drawing, and tweaking, and sketching, and building, and I plan on spending many more hours doing just the same. CHEERS!
  18. Hi there, Is there anyway to stop Affinity automatically savings files within the affinity app? If you export/save the file to the ‘Photo’ folder Affinity creates in the ‘On my iPad’ location in Files, you end up with 2x copies of the same file; one in Affinity and one in Files which isn’t ideal. Also if you open the file from the Files app, a duplicate is opened in Affinity, so you end up with 3x copies at that point. in other apps, the app folder in Files mirrors what is being stored in the actual app itself. Many thanks Charlie
  19. I love that program! But the file size is huge. Even if the images are just linked, but not embedded, the file will not get smaller. Is there a solution for this problem?
  20. Affinity Team and Community, All of the Affinity Design files that I've saved (not the exported files, the actual files that I can reopen in Affinity Design) can no longer be opened. Instead of having the Affinity logo next to them, it now shows a white piece of paper.. I'm wondering if this is because a day or two before I moved all of the Affinity files. The files that come with the software download were scattered in my Download folder and I wanted them all in one place, so I made an Affinity folder. Inside of that I had one for the Design files that I created, and a separate one for everything else. Now I can't open the Design files and I'm not sure how to fix it. Should I uninstall Affinity Design and reinstall it? I hope I explained this in a way that makes sense. I'd appreciate any insight or possible ways to fix it. Thank you Corinne
  21. Hi there, I just purchased affinity and imported RAW (CR2) files but it looks like Affinity doesn't support it. The images displayed on Affinity are pinkish in colour. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the Canon 6D Mark II I had recently bought. I wouldn't think it's the SD card because that would save what type of files we select. There's no issues importing jpeg files. Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks in advance. Nick
  22. I have a lot of trash files that I would like to delete. The Help document on files talks about everything but deleting. What would be the ideal workflow and storage to keep the iPad storage lean? Thank you.
  23. Hello everybody, apologies if this has been asked before, a quick search revealed nothing. I recently downloaded the Affinity Photo app for iPad and am still looking for a reasonable way to access my photos stored on a western digital mycloud. I tried Filebrowser Go and while it handily gave access to the cloud itself it wasn't possible to access files with RAW photos in it. Even more surprising, although one could access "copy to affinity photo" natively in Filebrowser Go the pic would not open. Is there a different file browser people might recommend? Kind regards Daniel
  24. Hey, I've just started using both Affinity Designer and Photo on iPad. I think both apps should better integrate with Apple's "Files" extension/app! This should lead to an easier cross platform and app exchange. The current solution with "open from cloud" and "import from cloud" are confusing and don't work as I would expect. My idea was that using the "open" option it just saves any changes I made directly back to the "Files" app (no matter if the document is located in iCloud Drive, Dropbox, iPad or some other location). There could be a little icon next to the document (in the overview), that indicates that it is linked/located to the "Files" app. So you can easily distinguish between app documents and documents in the Cloud (or any other location). In this case the wording of "close" (in the popup menu of the document overview) would also make more sense. When "importing" the file I would expect that the app creates a copy of the document inside the app. To save it back to "Files" I would have to press the "Save" button in the document overview. I tested it and this isn't the case. What is the actual difference between "open from cloud" and "import from cloud"? The icons are also extremely confusing to spot a difference. Thanks for making great Pro software available on iPad! Cheers! PS: Hope the label translations are right, as I use Affinity in German.
  25. Hi, I was recently using the Publisher Beta and unfortunately, lost a bit of (thankfully simple!) work due to a disconnection with my work VPN. We use a VPN to access in-house servers, which has a fairly short timeout period. Whilst working on a Publisher file, the VPN disconnected. When I went to save my work, an error popped up saying that Publisher had lost access to the file (and linked files) and immediately closed. My work was gone and a shock on my face. Whilst common sense would propose saving frequently, is it silly to suggest a failsafe option of switching to the Save As menu when this happens? My project was using linked files, but surely there's a way around this for those accessing work files remotely? Thanks and keep up the great work! Levi
