I'm conscious this has been asked before but there seem to be no recent updates here in the forums. On the iPad, can we please have a meaningful default filename when exporting images? I am using Affinity on an iPad Pro, it is fully up to date. I have tried a number of methods to import my images in the first place, but the one that seems most efficient is via the iPad SD card reader which is reasonably quick (once it has built tons of thumbnails... every time), where the Photos app imports the files. My source images are RAW files, sometimes paired as RAW & JPG (Olympus OMD camera). I have seen on the earlier threads on this subject the comment that "Photos doesn't retain the filename on import." That may once have been true but certainly is not true now and hasn't been since before the last Affinity iOS update. Both FileBrowser and in Lightroom Mobile can see the exact original filenames, same as if I had imported to my laptop. Affinity has been left behind and insists on "Untitled.jpg" as the only default option, so I have to open one of those other apps up to remind myself what the exported jpg filename actually should be (if I want to be able easily to recognise later where the export came from, which I do). Terrible workflow, and gets in the way of processing a batch of photos. An enhancement would be also to add (insert, replace) other standardised filename stubs - personally I like to prefix the capture date, others might like to add an album name when working on a bunch of photos. Any chance of an update?

Hi I’m fairly new to processing on the iPad and am wondering if anybody can tell me how I can automatically keep the original filename when exporting my work from .RAW format to .afphoto and .JPG formats. i want to be able to keep the camera filename so I can cross reference my processed work to original camera file, and sometimes re-visit my processing. i only get the “Untitled.jpg” option and its an absolute pain having to look up the original file name, type in and change it. I use the field "filename" in my publisher document, say "bulletin001.afpub". When I export this document to a PDF with filename "report001.pdf", the fields in the document are updated to the name of the exported file. I'd prefer to have the original filename "bulletin001.afpub" showing up even in the exported PDF. Is there a setting to achieve this?

I would like to be able to display the active document filename in the main Affinity Designer window title property (it shows "Affinity Designer" by default). Why? Well, to be able to get the time spent on a particular document using tracking software. I'm using Manic Time which extracts the application / document name from the active window title . This is useful when you want to know when and how long you've spent time on particular document, when doing client work. By default in Affinity Designer the document name is not displayed in the main window title, but on the "docked" windows but unfortunately not visible. Another approach not requiring third party tracking software would be to add document time tracking within Affinity Designer, similar to Microsoft Word where statistics for the document can be displayed using the Info button where the Total Editing Time can be displayed. Workaround - using floating window I found that it is possible to display document name when using floating window document), then the floating window can be tracked. But It's a bit messy to resize the window, screen real estate is not used that efficiently, and also it's easy to "dock" the window by mistake (which hides the document name again). An idea to add an option for displaying document name in the settings like this: General / Display active document name in main window title

I would like to save an existing afpub file as a new file and then work on it to create a new document using much content from the original file. This seems to work fine until I export a pdf file and open that file in Google Chrome or Firefox. The tabs show part of the old filename, not the new. This is not a problem with Acrobat reader or Internet explorer since they identify tabs by the new filename. I am not including history. Am I missing something?

Give a new Publisher file the name "A". Save it. Close it. Open file "A" and save it as "B". Open "Fields" in saved document "B" and under "Document Information" the "Title" field will read "A", which is what the name of what the file WAS, not what it IS now. There is a title-filename mismatch that persists. Even if you close the app down and start afresh, the mismatch persists. See attachment. Yes I know, I can manually change the Title field but a) that's not productive and b) it doesn't stick. The title field in "B" reverts to the first document's filename. I could hard wire it, but that defeats the purpose of a field doesn't it? The field seem unable to update itself automatically and there is no manual key for doing so. Win 64, AP 1.7.1.404.

Hi, I'm finally preparing to move away from Aperture, which I still use for its DAM, which remains by far the best, as far as I can see. Sigh. I have several thousand old tiff files, that are unsupported in 64bit (you can test this by starting up in 64bit mode on you Mac). Happily, whilst AFP 1.6.7 choked and crashed horribly trying to batch convert these old .tif files to modern versions, via New Batch Job, AFP 1.7beta cruises through them with much appreciated speed and solidity. So far I have made a >2,000 batch conversion. Problem/Question: Obviously the Batch Job is producing a new Tiff LZW file, which has a new date. Is there any way within AFP that I can set the date to the same as the original file (I can't find anything) or does anyone have any suggestions how I can keep the original file date? I suppose it could be done in the Finder via Applescript, but this is beyond my capabilities. Seems like this is something that could be desirable for quite a few people.

I often create panoramas with Affinity photo. I'm using the raw files as input and export these afterwards as either tiff, or jpg. I'd like the export dialog propose an auto generated filename like e.g. [first filename of pano]-[last filename of pano].extension instead of nothing. Right now I alwas have to remember the original filenames or have another explorer open to look these up.

Hi I Need to add ^#UP and ^#DOWN tag to multiple slices is there a quick way to do this instead of writing it every time ?

Hey, I need to export a bunch of artboards (hundreds) and their layers separately with their name being something like this: [suffix][Artboard Name]_[Layer Name].png With the Slices panel in export you can already specify the Suffix and Slice/Layer name for multiple exports, but with every artboard name being different you cannot use suffix to specify artboard name. Is there a way to specify user variable for artboard name the layer is in? It would be all the better if this could be done from the Artboards own slice and not specify each layer individually as a separate slice. if not then I would request this to be a feature.
