Jut installed Affinity Publisher v2 as trial and started a new document, 8"x10" 150 pages, as a test and then File > Place... , open the files dialog and no .doc documents where visible in the list. I selected all the options to no avail. (Screen capture 1). Then I write the file in the file name of the Place files dialog and it throw me an error. Apparently Affinity Publisher do not imports(Places) Word files. Is that an error? or it needs the full version to work or what happened? (Affinity Photo and Designer are not installed yet.) Thanks for any help.

I see this has been discussed in the past as "I have a PSB which doesn't open" with the common reply of "please send us the file". My situation is one in which not even one of my PSB files will open. Is there a file size limitation? A general Smart Object limitation? Or perhaps a Smart Filter problem? Attached is a PSB from another designer from a "give credit" stock site (IconFinder.com) as an example of something basic which won't open in AP. Thanks for any help and pointers. (I'm evaluating AP and AD as Photoshop and Illustrator replacements, but with so many years of files in my archive and among my current work, I need to feel certain that my work and experimental "idea" files won't be lost in the switch.) iconfinder_galaxy_3285297.psb

Sorry if this is a repeat. I do not see the ability to export to an .afdesign file type from the ipad app. I only see .svg and when I export to .svg all of my layers and groupings turn into a jumbled mess on the desktop. I see that I am unable to access the designer files on my ipad directly is there a way to do this or is the only way to access those files is through saving files directly to icloud?

My awesome employer switched us all over to Box Drive from Box Sync without telling us. Apparently this switch hosed a bunch of files (files no longer local, internal links broken, unrecognized files types, fun.) Some (not all) Affinity files cannot be opened. I get an error that the file type is not supported. To remove Box from the problem I moved the problem files to a local folder, but no change. Any thoughs? Could I have created these with a beta version? (Currently running 1.7.2)

How do I simply see what file type I’m working with? I import a raw image from Lightroom mobile. I want to make sure it’s not importing a jpeg copy but the original raw file. Should be very easy in the metadata but it’s not there.

Affinity Photo v 1.5.1.54 Windows 10.1 Macros are saved as *.afmacro files. But Macro Library only recognises *afmacros files. So a saved macro is not visible to Library - import macros. In fact, an *afmacro file is entirely invisible to A.P.. Adding the missing final "s" to the file name does not cure the problem as Affinity Photo then declares the renamed *macros file as having an "Unexpected Macros Format". A macro can be saved but not used again. I have 770 images files in need of a macro-driven batch job. Please tell me I don't have to do it manually, 770 times.

I've purchased Photo and Designer both, although my preference is to use Designer. I've spent many hours learning from the Affinity tutorials (good job making those too!) I'm not a graphic designer by trade, but love creating my own business graphics. To this end I'm working on a project that I started in Designer, but all of a sudden I could not find the clone tool. Nor did I find it in the help section. So I go over to Photo and sure enough, there is a clone tool. However, when I go to bring up my saved file from Designer (afdesign), Photo says it can't open that file type? Do I have to 'export' the file from Designer simply to work on this one small area of the project in Photo? Honestly, this may be enough to drive me back to Photoshop. I already have tons of actions and styles I can't use in Affinity products - at least as far as I can tell. I understand having different versions of a product, but there are some things that seem universal - including not just copying an area, but needing to clone a particular layer in another area. This is a file I'd created in Photoshop many moons ago. Thanks for any assistance! Debbie
