  1. I have encountered a problem opening a TIF file in Affinity Photo 1.9 and 1.9.1. I am using Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 on my MacBook Pro. The camera used was the Canon EOS-1D (which is supported by Affinity Photo). The original Canon 4.8 mb TIF file opens with the following dimensions 288 px x 192 px @ 72 dpi in the Photo Persona mode (it does not even try to open in the Develop Persona). When I open the same Canon 4.8 mb TIF file in Adobe Photoshop CS6 it opens properly using Adobe Camera Raw 8.3 to process the raw 4.8 mb file. The dimensions after processing in Adob
  2. I have just updated Affinity Photo to the latest version 1.9.0.932. Since the update when I export as JPG or TIFF it only displays save as Affinity File. However it does appear to save as the correct file.
  3. 'Export' from Photo - png and gifs are fine, but jpgs only want to 'save as' affinity files. Same problem with Designer.
  4. Hi, I've just downloaded the Affinity Designer trial, and am quite impressed. However, I am a design student and my school computers have adobe programs. As far as I can tell, I can't find any way of exporting Designer files as Ai files? I can see the option to export as psd, and I've tried to open Ai files using Designer with no problems - but I wanted to check whether there was a way of exporting to Ai that I had missed. Thanks
  5. We have a file that is not opened by Affiinity Photo 1.8.4. It claims to open it, but even in 10 minutes, it is not opened. 378123zip.tif
  6. Is there a way to export native designer files from the ipad designer app without using icloud? When I go to export a design, why is there no option to export it as a native file? why does it have to be converted to some other format?
  7. When I try to overwrite a file that has been locked in finder, I get an error message about insuffient permissions. Reading that, I'd probably inspect the folder permission settings, but doing so I will not find the lock, which is a flag and thus another concept in the filesystem. The error message should reflect that, because file system locks an easily removed by most users, while changing file system permissions often requires an admin user. Additionally; I wish that Affinity Photo warns me on opening an image from a locked file.
  8. Hi, Affinity Photo reads the message "the file type is not supported". System Windows 10 Affinity photo : 1.8.3.641 File : see attached file In the folder only few files are unreadeabled. All the file are read without problem with ViewNX. Best Regards. Yves POUJOL. DSC_4762.NEF
  9. Hi, so recently I have reset my widows, meaning completely removed all files. I backed-up most of my .asdesign files. My problem is that every time I try to save a file, (even a completely blank one) it does let me save it, but after I have saved it, a pop-up saying: And then I click close. It does this with every .asdesign file i save. I can't open the file afterwards either. Then it's just corrupted. I use sRGB btw. I can still open old documents (The ones that I backed-up from before the reset) I've seen 2 other posts about the same message/pop-up, but it didn't match my p
  10. Not sure what to do. I don't want to upload the file for everyone so if a mod could please help I'll upload the corrupted file to the Affinity Support Team over Dropbox. I was trying to move a constraints group outside its group. Immediately it crashed. Upon re-opening, it gave me a recovery file and I was able to open that. I resized the constraints group down again, saved the project so I wouldn't lose any more progress, then dragged the constraints group again outside the group it's in. Immediate crash. Now I'm unable to open the project at all, Affinity Designer immediately crash
  11. I've got not that big of a file (16 megapixels, 8-bit and a couple of raster layers) that after saving shockingly took 700 mb of my disk space. I copied all of it's contents in a fresh document with the same dimensions, saved it again and BAM! - 100mb. What causes this colossal difference in file size when the content is 100% the same? I've noticed this is a persistent problem with Affinity Photo. When I finish with a project, I always have to transfer all the contents in a new document before saving otherwise I'd have clogged up my disk by now. Any way to avoid this or is this a bug?
  12. Hello, I'd like to ask if there's a solution to stop/avoid growing of files that I edit or change. It seems that working on a file simply grows it's size over time and there's no clear solution to keep it small. Originally I thought it's the saving of the full history in the file. But when I open recently edited files in both Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer, it has no prior history stored in it. Anybody has an idea? Thx! Btw. backup solution that I have is to open a new file and paste all content from the old file to the new one. But that's killing export settings and you need
  13. Hey Guys, I was wondering if there is a way to generate random file names when Batch Processing images. Greetings
  14. Can somneone kindly help a guy out and show me how to recover a file that Affinity Designer is saying is 'corrupted' when trying to open. The autosaves seem to have been wiped over (happens each time you open, wish it didn't though). Thanks in advance.
  15. Hi, I'm very much a beginner with Affinity Photo after years of only editing my photos in RAW form in apps like Lightroom and Capture One. What I've always understood is that a JPEG file is the final form, with edits 'baked in'. The idea of adding an HSL or brightness and contrast layer to a JPEG file seems very strange - surely this will push a compressed image too far? I understand adding pixel layers with creative effects or combining images, but what is the expert opinion on adjustments? My expected workflow will still be doing essential edits in a RAW editor, but should I export the end r
  16. hello I post this message to try to find a solution to my problem I apologize if this subject has already been treated in another topic I cannot open an affinity desinger file if it was created with a higher version, my university does not update the software for technical reasons and I cannot open my files from these versions. is there an option in the software to maximize the compatibility? If not, is there any software to edit or delete the version of the version on the file? If not, is there documentation on the .afdesign files in order to manually modify the file with an exadecimal ed
  17. So... first thing is. I love your software. I pay your software. I recommend your software. And I depend on your software! But... "Access to the document´s file was lost while performing..." isn´t something I don´t expect from one second to another from your software! I do save every 5 Minutes, and i do versions when software is new and project is important. But this time 8hours of work are gone. And I am trying to get help here for 3 hours. But maybe your are on BREXIT already ? - nobody is responding I did try every trick I know ... copy and save the file to anot
  18. I am doing the graphic design of a game using SVG files I was using Adobe Illustrator CC, but exporting SVG files in AI ruins the gradient, shapes, so I switched to affinity designer The problem is that when I open any SVG file, the color of the vectors looks wrong, pale, without saturation I think it could be because the color settings, and display settings When I export the file as SVG, the colors display correctly in other software, such as inkscape/illustrator (as should be) but not in affinity designer, so yeah, the problem is about displaying the colors in the software correctly
  19. If you apply to an object a gradient and then add a modification using the transparent tool the result will be one gradient predominating the other after exporting using SVG format Only works if there is neither a gradient or a transparency applied, not both together sample 1.afdesign

  21. Hello, InDesign has a simple keyboard shortcut for Export: Cmd + E. I still don't understand why did you have to use what is probably the worst shortcut ever - Shift + Alt + Command + S. Only Photoshop uses this shortcut I believe and only for the Save for Web command. But Command + E would be just brilliant for Export, don't you think? And everybody would understand it. Everybody could even guess it right away. And - this shortcut isn't assigned to anything in Publisher right now! And it would be really good to have this same shortcut for Export in all of your programs - P
  22. I bought an image off of Shutterstock as an eps and it doesn't seem to be rendering completely in Affinity Designer. I checked to see whether it was just a WYSIWYG issue so I exported it as a JPEG. Unfortunately, the jpeg had the same issues. I Have attached the original Shutterstock file, the Affinity file I have used the eps in. Tried to upload the jpeg to this forum but kept getting upload errors so gave up. shutterstock_615545459.eps Panel_2.afdesign
  23. Please add this option to the export dialogue (file > export): Name the file to be exported by the name of the selection (usualy an artboard or a layer). (I believe the "export persona" does this)
  24. This might be a question or possibly a feature request. Is there a way of replicating Photoshop's .PSDT template format in Designer? It's a little feature but it's such a timesaver.
