  1. I think it could be much faster for changing artboard name if we can change it by double click the name above of the artboard area. I also visualized my suggestion on attached files. Or even faster with F2 hotkey I guess (I know we can one click on artboard layer in Layer palette, but an universal hotkey would better).
  2. I really like the "Duplicate linked" functionality of Affinity Photo. Fortunately, it is also accessible via the Photo persona in Publisher. But it would be really great if it would get a proper integration in Publisher (that the panel is there also available). For all, who don't know what this feature does: You can duplicate layers linked, so they share some properties. For example, if I duplicate a text frame linked, I can edit the text in one frame and the content gets also instantly updated in the other frame (same with changing font etc.). Or, if you change the thickness of the contour, it gets changed also on the linked layer. In the links panel you can configure, which parts of the object should be linked and shouldn't. So, my suggestion is to split the option "text parameters" in two: One called "text content" and the other one "text formatting". With this option, I could make for example fancy headlines (see attached file), where I could assign a different text style to the bigger text... This would open endless posibilities.
  3. Currently, Select Same is great. However it seeks the entire document, across artboards, everything. I typically only want to grab files in specific part of the layer/group hierarchy. The UI issue is, how does a user specify 'where' the Select Same should look? Below is an idea I had for this. So, this lets a user specify the Select Same to only look in the parent of the currently held object. >What if a red object is inside a group, then a layer, then an artboard? Does it look inside just the first level parent? I'm not too sure. Maybe we default to artboard, since this is an explicit work area separate from other content. Groups and layers tend to be used together in one design, and Select Same's entire point is to blast through all the structure. So, maybe 'Select Same inside artboard' is a good middleground of powerful and simple.
  4. I've found two things, which I previously has used a lot, which are missing or more difficult in Affinity Designer; 1. There should be easier to read the colour you have selected. Now I have to select the colour and click on the "Fill" colour to see the name. That's one unnecessary click. 2. There should be a way to compare colours. Sometimes I would like to find a PMS colour which is similar to another colour. 2a. Affinity Designer should be able to suggest a similar colour 2b. There should be a way to compare two colours; when I pick a colour there should be a visual representation of that colour beside the colour I'm selecting to find a similar one, to have a side by side comparison.
  5. Hello! It was suggested to me to create a feature request thread concerning the ability to create interactive PDFs in Publisher. I had asked if this was possible currently in Publisher and unfortunately it isn't so I am asking if it could be a considered feature as it would be awesome to have and not having to deal with Adobe's products (InDesign) to be able to make them. I'm sure other users would find the ability to create interactive PDFs in Publisher to be super useful, not just myself haha. Kind regards Krane
  6. Perhaps there could be a "Show Hyperlinks" option the same way there is a "Show Anchors" option in the Text>Interactive menu? There are an obnoxious amount of hyperlinks/anchors in the document I'm working on and having visual indicators like the anchors do for whether something's been hyperlinked already or not would be helpful.
  7. It would be really great to have a thumbnail view for spreads similar to what Adobe Acrobat Pr or PDF Expert has. In this view, the only function is to move spreads around, especially in large documents. You can move spreads around currently in the spreads page but it becomes difficult to view and arrange the document entirely in this view. Affinity InDesign doesn't offer such a thumbnail view either. This would really be a simple, unique and badly needed feature in my opinion.
  8. I think that Affinity Photo could really benefit from added sources in the "Stock" Panel. I'd really love to see Unsplash on there, or a way to add custom sources other than Shutterstock, but I'm curious how others feel.
  9. Hi Serif Team, I bought Affinity Photo half a year ago, and it hasn't disappointed me. In fact, I am very happy with it. But I miss the library function from Lightroom. When I edit a 20mb RAW file, the .afphoto file is 130mb big (or similar dimensions). I would really appreciate a library functionality, the project files don't have to contain copies of the source files. And I would really like to hand off the managing of all the projects to a background program. Maybe this is even an idea for another new app, and it isn't urgent. But I wanted to mention that there is interest in such an app. Best Regards
  10. Problem Gradients have bothered me forever, not only Affinity but every piece of software that has them. Turns out that both gradients and blur are subject to the same problem, which is that they are not performing the color average calculations correctly. The issue is best explained in this video. The gradient is on the left and the blur is on the right. The color between these two is too dark. This happens for every color combination. You can also see the edges of the gradient because it is being calculated linearly. The fix below using gradients is still wrong because it still is victim to the darkness resulting from the bad average calculation. This is also a good example of the linear gradient issue because you can see a definitive purple line down the center. This is my best attempt to fix the linear gradient and make it more logarithmic This calculation issue is also extremely visible in the color chooser The examples above are all using Adobe RGB, not sRGB. Suggested fix Idea 1 Because many documents are now using the wrong calculation, my suggested fix would be to add an option to the gradient tool for what type of calculation to use in order to maintain compatibility with older documents. Idea 2 Take the Photoshop approach and just make it a document setting (and turn it on by default for new documents). Result Fixing this will result in a more accurate and pleasing gradient and blur tool. Fixing this will also fix the linear gradient problem, which causes the center and edges of gradients to be extremely visible since they are not being calculated logarithmically to compensate for how humans perceive brightness/color. Here is a snapshot of the video I linked above showing what the blur and gradient should look like:
