  1. Hey affinity team, a while ago there had been existing an index of common feature requests which gave the users some ideas about which features might be expected in future releases. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10410-common-feature-requests-index/ Could you please make such a sticky post again? Thank you very much. Benny
  2. I am really impressed with the results I can get with my raw files in the latest version 1.6.4 (Windows), but what bothers me a lot is that all my adjustments are not recorded once I hit the "develop" button. For example, after prinitng the photo I realise that I went to far with the sharpening. In my other applications (DxO, On1 Photo Raw, ...) I can just go back to the raw file and tune down the sharpening a bit, in Affinity Photo I have to start from scratch and apply adjustments from memory, wich regularly fails me after about one hour. Also I use to develop all my photos but only export those that I intend to print (jpg fuill size full quality), publish on the web (jpg reduced size 75% quality) or further work with (tiff 16bit). Would it really be too much effort to implement a feature that a sidecar file is written, every time I hit the "develop" button?
  3. I just bought Affinity Designer yesterday. First of all, great job! I've been working in vector art for over a decade and I'm impressed with your innovation. The good: Your pen tools are far superior to anything else I have used thus far. Awesome set of shape tools - the most comprehensive so far. The visual controls to alter them save me a lot of time ie. rounded corners on the fly. Nice touch with the transparency tool - this was so frustrating in Adobe Illustrator. The customizable UI is sleek and intuitive The bad: Where is the line smoothing? Every vector illustration software I've ever used had this feature. It is standard workflow to 1)rough in your illustration, 2)smooth, then 3)hand edit the node handles. I found something promising in the node area called 'convert to smooth', but it actually added more nodes. This is the exact opposite of what smoothing should do! Where is the raster to vector trace equivalent? I looked everywhere and I can't figure this out. This is such a common function for artists working between mediums - you're basically excluding them right from he start. For reference check out Adobe Illustrator's powerful image trace palette. Restrain proportions/dimensions when resizing elements is not consistent. Placed images and text will stay proportional by holding down ALT. Everything else stays proportional while holding down shift. Why the inconsistency? I can't seem to figure out how to lock objects without having to go to the layer palette and doing it manually. Thanks for the hard work! I've been in software development for 12 years. I know the sacrifices made and wish you the best of luck.
  4. I bought your apps but i need trace tool like corel draw , I wonder if affinity has a trace tool like Corel draw in the next update thanks
  5. Hi there, Im using AD almost one year. And funny thing is that I never worked in any of Adobe products, so for me all experience is going from AD, AP and goes Ai Ps. not like many people here who have been working in Adobe software for a while and now are switching to AD APs. I decided, in order to get more skills to master few courses in Ai Ps(on on one series from Deke McClelland for AI PS and). Those courses as far that I can see are very deep and contain lot of ways how to work etc. In the same time will try to duplicate some exercises in Affinity products and would like to share with some tools that I din't found in AD/AP but there are In Ai Ps. I'm sure that in some cases I didn't try hard enough to find tools, but any way)
  6. Color balance and The selection of a particular color gamut Works add please
  7. Just found out about this software and have spent a couple of hours getting familiar with the tools. You are probably tired of seeing the term "Photoshop killer" but this is it! Some impressions: Like- CMYK. 16 bit. Liquify tool. Various previews such as scrolling through fonts after typing text. The mesh warp. The way that panning works. Soft proof adjustment layer. Save with history. And much more. Would like to see- Actions. Option to show clipping in the levels adjustment. I don't need to see "set visibility" in the history palette. A hex# field in the CMYK color picker as in the RGB hex picker. Layer from selection, CMND+J In the camera raw module, white balance presets like daylight, shade etc. Also a numerical temperature field next to the white balance slider. Grey eyedropper. Thank you.
  8. Fantastic start to this app and already well on it's way to replace the evil empire's Illustrator. My requests: 1. Pantone Libraries 2. Object highlighting when hovering (kinda like Smart Guides in AI) 3. Marquee drag to select something – this is a safer way of selecting for Wacom users like me 4. Object orientated Blending modes (maybe I missed this) 5. Trapping 6. Separations Preview Keep it up guys and congratulations! Sean
