Hello, I have a drawing in PDF format (probably drawn in visio or something) and when i open this in designer it looks good, although there is an awful lot of layers. If i try file -> export (PDF export) of this file without doing anything with it i get a dialog box with the following text: "An error occurred while exporting to: <file path>" (<file path> is the actual place where i try to export to. Doesn't matter where i try to save to, it won't work. Exporting in a rasterized format seems to work. Any ideas? Also i can't put the file I'm working on here. Björn -
I have a photo with a bunch of adjustments and pixel layers. And I need to export both full size and some cropped versions, and remember crop positions for further editing. I could make a copy of document, but in that case I will need to change all of them if it's necessary to edit adjustments. How would you handle that? -
Hey, As a web designer I'm using the export feature a lot as the persona and simply by pressing Export... from the file menu. After I get a ready jpg I always have to put it in ImageOptim app (https://imageoptim.com/) to get it even more optimized for the web. Any change that you could implement the ImageOptim as a build-in feature in AD or AP? -
I'm creating a new pdf export preset and want to ensure all outputs are cmyk with a specific colour profile. If the document isn't already in that specific colour profile will the document be converted or will the new profile simply be assigned. There's an option for that in the document settings but it's not clear in the export settings. (I suggest it should be made clear what's going on) -
Hello, new with designer. I was trying it with a specific use. Design piece for laser cutting. There is no export compatible with laser cut software. (emf, dxf, illustrator 8) should be great to have one ;) I'm working with polar coord and it should be great to snap circle center to custom grid (circle and line) "connexion" (sorry for my poor vocabulary). when use "circular tool", the scale is not from the circle center Love the copy/paste feature (draw stay in the same place) but with visual feedback when paste id done (some time doesn't do paste) regards more to come

Hey, I've been editing a PDF file on Affinity Photo (the software treats each page as a layer), but now I can't export them back to the format they were before, because all the layers are becoming a single page. Can Affinity Photo make every layer a page again when exporting to PDF? What do I need to do? Thanks in advance! -
I'm new to Affinity Photo; in fact, trying out the trial. I've been using Photoshop Elements 13 and 10 and not really happy with PE13 (slow). For Web blog, I routinely use jpegs in 900x600 format. So, I will take a photo, either sent to me or shot with my Olympus Pen camera or iPhone6, open it in PE, crop to 6x4 aspect ratio, resize to 900x600 and export in low quality. When I try this in AP, I get strange looking images. So, I figure I must be missing something here. I'll try attaching 2 photos here... One an AP export, the other PE export. I've been increasingly interested in improving my personal photos. Using Mac Photos auto enhancements, I can improve them somewhat, but looking at doing more...Same for PE auto settings. I'd appreciate any suggestions...

I could use some help. I have some typed some phrases with glyphs and I want to export them as SVG for use with vinyl cutters. When I export the file as SVG and open it in my other software the phrase is all wonky. I have read that I would need to pull it into inkscape and trace it there but I don't seem to be able to do that either. I even downloaded an app "super vectorizer" with no luck. Can anyone give me some ideas here of what I am doing wrong? I have attached the file Kiss Me Now.afdesign -
Photoshop introduced this weird shortcut (Cmd+Alt+Shift+S), to access the "save for web" feature. And later introduced the Cmd+Alt+Shift+W shortcut, to export image files. I use this shortcut sometimes hundreds of times during a day (tweak, save, test, tweak, save test etc.), and I always wondered why they chose such an awkward shortcut for a frequent task like saving! I guess it was, because the save for web feature was introduced when all of the common shortcuts were occupied already. I think inDesign is much better in this respect using just a logic Cmd+E, and then presenting the user with the complete export options. Also, once you introduce Affinity publisher, will you go for Cmd+Alt+Shift+W there as well? or have different shortcuts between apps? I know that shortcuts are customizable, still i would be very happy if Affinity would make things easier, instead of copying Adobe where they have failed. Cmd+Alt+Shift+W just makes no sense to me, these kind of combinations should be used for your custom shortcuts. Ok, much text for a minor thing, still worth a consideration imo. Simplifying the apple way, is always a good thing, i think! :) Cheers.

I will have done something wrong, but I have created an icon with a triangle and a rectangle, overall size approx 23 px x 55 px. The triangle is filled with a websafe green and the rectangle with a websafe brown. They both have a border of 1px white. When I export it with Export> PNG selection without background the file is about 15k I thought this was wrong and much bigger than I expected. So I did a similar test with INKSCAPE and its filesize is 1k - yes 1K I expect it is to do with quality, but can not see a setting, that would make the AD image smaller I have attached both files. These files are for icon markers on Google maps What have I done wrong ?

Guys, it should be great app for microstock contributors. There're a huge amount of users, who can prefer AD instead of Illustrator. But there're many things that you need to do, if you want to increase the amount of users. The main thing for microstock illustrators is normal export to EPS format, especially EPS10, that all microstocks approve (http://goo.gl/oIYOpA). "Normal": 1) without problems of rasterization (now with gradients) 2) with handy option of expanding, like in AI (text, brushes, lines, etc.) 3) with the possibility to continue editing in Illustrator - hope it's temporary. http://www.istockphoto.com/help/sell-stock/training-manuals/illustration/quality-standards - this manual can help you. You are just amazing! Waiting for more comfortable version for microstock illustrators. You must think about this, seriously. When working in Affinity, obviously everything looks incredibly crisp. But when I have text, if I switch to the pixel view or retina pixel view it, understandably gets a bit blurry. This blurriness naturally carries over to when I export and is very evident with pngs jpegs etc, while svgs and pdfs are much more clear. are there any tricks to make the text a bit more clear? I've tried outlines, i've tried adjusting tracking (i'm unable to adjust kerning for some reason - i can only select "auto"), but nothing seems to make a difference. Is anti-alias available and would that help? Any exporting tips for settings? Just to clarify, it isn't any more blurry then text in photoshop, fireworks, etc, it just seems like there should be a way to make it a bit more clear. (This came up while working on a Twitter background and I feel like I've seen other Twitter backgrounds that are more crisp). Thanks! -
Concerning import a logo and C4D. In Adobe Illustrator you have to save a logo in version 8 (a very older version of AI) and still a very weird workflow I think. Therefore, is it possible to use the latest version of Designer to export a logo to C4D? Exporting such a file that could be read by C4D in a direct way to import a logo into C4D. That would be a very huge benefit for all the graphic designers out there using CGI.

I want to have a box with Pantone 032 as a solid colour. I exported it as an EPS into Indesign, it did not import the Pantone colour in. It only works when you use a PDF. Is this a BUG or am I doing something wrong. Newbie to Affinity Thanks

Hi everybody, i am a new user of affinity designer and have a question about exporting files: i was asked by a printing company if i can provide them with files in vector art format (they mean illustrator i guess). which export format, if any, is feasible for that? -
Hi @ all, I have to send a 76x66cm photocollage including a cut to a printservice. The original .afphoto file with all pics is about 400MB. Affinity photo is working already for 2 hours now to export to .eps @ 300dpi. Does anyone know how long it will take to finish this export? Will go to bed now, hopefully it is done next morning. ;-) Best regards, Michael -

In one of my current projects I'm working on my company's new brand identity (logo, title fonts, etc). In the past I've been accustomed to placing several of those brand graphics in the same document, editing them individually, and then exporting them to separate .eps or .svg files. It doesn't look like "Export Selected Item" is an option right now, but it would sure be a time saver versus creating different files for each graphic element. What do you think?

Hi, I love the concept of the export persona in Photo. Surely we've all been there where a large raw file has to be repurposed for many things. I feel this is the idea behind the slices in the export persona? But in this case I want to be able to limit the long edge of a slice so that I don't have to re-scale the exported slices in another step. It kind of feels like it should be there already, so am I missing something (I'm new to the apps)? So, in the export options, for instance in the JPEG preset, I'd like to see: Long edge: px and maybe % options Sharpening (I use quite different values depending on size and purpose) dpi Thanks! -
Hi - I've noticed that when I export from Affinity Designer the colours are quite different. Pure white becomes light yellow for example. I'm using a 2012 retina macbook pro that's running El Capitan. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks I've attached a couple of images for comparison PreExport.tiff

Hallo to everyone. I have a problem with exposing from AP. Once the image is exported it has some really strange colors.... But only if reported from AP... If the same image goes from Lightroom to AP and back no... Tiff format or jpeg happens the same... It doesn't happen if i save a .afphoto project. tried in various formats but didn't change...
