  1. Please add an option to control eps format. AD rasterize all objects with gradient & transparency. PostScript level 3 is compatible with gradient, Illustrator or even Inkscape can export eps with gradient without rasterzing it. Also Illustrator can export objects with transparency as divided shapes instead of rasterizing it. Refer Illustrator's option panel
  2. Hi, It would be great to have bleed option for every artboard differently. Like margin, you can set for each artboard different size. Use case: I have lots of different sizes of poster where I using 3mm bleed but when it is too large for example A0 I will make artboard that is only 10% of normal size to don't have a file that has 800Mb. I just want to send small file to printer and there I will enlarged it 10 times. The graphic is 10 time larger but also the bleed. It is not have 3mm now but 30mm. So for this example it will be great to set bleed for this particular artboard only to 0.3mm So it would be great to have possibility set bleed in export persona or just in artboard preferences like margin. Thanks for your hard work cheers
  3. When exporting a vector image to SVG, Designer appears to add hundreds of points to a path that aren't there when editing, causing the exported file to balloon many times the size as one exported from illustrator. For example, the Twitter logo contains 20 points on the path in Designer, but after exporting as a SVG it balloons to 1,554 points! Is there anyway to tell Designer to not add points, and to respect the original layout? This is holding me back from dumping Adobe Illustrator completely, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
  4. Hi, I'm having a problem similar to the one described in the thread here. I want to export my line art which is a vector (see screenshot ‘Before import’) from Affinity Designer to Affinity Photo in order to colour. I export in a PNG format, import into Affinity Photo, zoom in and that's when I notice the lines look really jagged (see screenshot ‘After export with colour’). I understand that the vector gets turned into pixels during export, but I want to make the lines look smoother. Before using Affinity Designer and Photo, I was working with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. My workflow back then was to export the vector from Illustrator as a PNG 'without background' to Photoshop. In Affinity Designer I have tried different PNG preset settings (see screenshot ‘Export settings’) including PNG-24 Bilinear, Bicubic, Lanczos 3 (separable), Lanczos 3 (non-separable) all ‘without background’ selected. But all resulted in the same jagged line. I tried the solutions mentioned in the thread above. However when I click ‘Force pixel alignment’ the quality in Affinity Photo doesn’t seem to change. Would someone on the support team know if I need to do something different in Affinity Designer so that when I import the vector in Affinity Photo there’s not a noticeable difference?
  5. Hi there, PDF export (default) crashes again and again. I don't have the time to change any option, it crashes immediately. Even after a reboot. Export on JPG or PSD are ok. A3 page created with 1.7.0 (afdesign file is 55,3Mo). I've tried with a smaller file created with the previous 1.6.4 and the PDF export went ok (all options by default). I went back to the "A3 file" and it crashes during the export, when I confirmed the destination... Thanks!

    Export Crash

Experienced a crash in Designer 1.7 when exporting a PDF document. I'm not exactly sure what caused the crash, but I will explain what I did. When setting up a simple PDF document (an invoice for a client), I pressed the export shortcut (cmd+option+shift+E). The finder window popped up. I selected the 'PDF (For Print) from the preset menu. I then navigated to the desired folder containing other PDF documents similar to the one I was exporting. I clicked on one of the other PDF files already in the folder (Invoice #323) to save my new document with the same name as the PDF in the folder, but change it from "Invoce #323" to "Invoice #324" before exporting so as not to replace the existing PDF. As soon as I clicked 'Export' my app window disappeared and the software crashed. I have not been able to recreate this crash, so it might just have been a once off thing, but it may be worth looking into.
  7. In my line of work it is essential that I am able to export my images to 8 bit .BMP Is it possible that this option may be added, or is there a simple alternative....without resorting to PhotoShop?
  8. Hello, I am unable to preserve an opacity gradient (transparency tool in designer) applied at the group level when exporting to svg format. With option "rasterize unsupported properties", I get a rasterize image With option "rasterize nothing", the gradient disappear Is it a some workaround ? Thanks for your help. gradient.afdesign
  9. Hi all! The export persona with the possibility to define slices is already a great feature. I'm looking for the possibility to set the aspect ratio per slice independently of the pixel. One slice in 16:9, another in 9:7 ... and then I want select the size/area with the mouse. I don't find this possibility. Can anyone help me? Thanks Manu
  10. Adobe Illustrator unifies multiple shapes that is identical(Symbol) into single data when export SVG. This makes SVG a lot smaller. Would be nice if you could implement this. Also an option for simplifying shapes will be useful like SVGO's Precision option or AI's Decimal option.
  11. I will admit that my familiarity with use and defs proves limited at this point in time. In an effort to make it easier for plebs like me, could you export it as a similar svg filter object? When I use Affinity to export a project to SVG it exports anything with a Layer Effect as: <use id="Square-2-On" serif:id="Square 2 On" xlink:href="#_Image1" x="288.16" y="485.161" width="64.275px" height="83.71px" transform="matrix(0.988839,0,0,0.996549,0,0)"/> <defs> <image id="_Image1" width="65px" height="84px" xlink:href="data:image/png;base64,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"/> </defs> Currently I want to use it in d3 and, due to my ineptitude of either d3 or the underlying SVG, I cannot get it to work correctly. 12. Hi, Exporting to png or jpg of a selection or artboard goes wrong when I change the export width. I have the image ratio locked. But the height isn’t calculated rght. The exported image gets stretched.. Designer 1.7.0, Ipad pro 9,7” ios 12.3.1 Thx. OIIO
  13. I have an original iPad Pro 12.9 inch running the current version of Designer ( and iOS12.3. this problem is repeatable; it happens right after I reboot the iPad. I open Designer, create a new document, add one polygon shape, and try to export and share it. As soon as I select “Save Image”, Designer crashes and nothing is saved. this happens whether or not I first export the document as a JPG (which does work). if I want the document in my Photos library, I have to export it as a JPG to my iCloud account, then use the Files app to save the document to the Photos library.
  14. Hello, I'm unable to open tiff files saved with layers. So far I have lost two photos after processing. I tried opening in other software like GIMP and ImageMagik, one files reports invalid tag, and the other does not open at all. For now, I'm now saving all files to .afphoto instead of tiff, but would like to store layers in tiff (one color and one monochrome layer). Thanks for your consideration advance. 15. Completely useless update. I have A LOT OF FILES with multiple artboards. Usually, I export my designs on PDF (because of the compatibility, most people has AI), and, with the update, there's no separation between the artboards. All you got is one single page with all the arboards on it, no separated pages, one by each one of the artboards. So, a really nice software is now ruined with an unnecessary update.
  16. Hi there, I have encountered a strange bug when working with PDF exports. To be more precise Overpass as a font. It gets exported as bunch of symbols instead of letters. Tested. Not a bug in my file, nor software (friend tested it as well) Link to download Overpass: https://overpassfont.org What it was supposed to look like: What I got in the PDF: My export settings:

  18. Hi, with the new version (1.7), I can’t have separate layers when I export the files (PDF) on notability or email... someone can help ?
  19. Hello, Context Version 1.7.0 Existing project. New artboard. Exporting to png, jpeg. Result The exported file is blank. When trying to export from artboards created before the version 1.7. it works perfectly.
  20. Hi Affinity Team Would it be possible to add functionality to export all the layers from a document to separate files? (especially in Affinity Photo) We often get multilayer .psd's from our clients containing a bunch of supers and splashes that we need to animate on TVC's, and we always need to export each layer out as a separate image file. In PS there is a "script" called "Export layers to files" but it is quite limited regarding file formats and saving options. So I request the addition of a "Export layers to separate files" check box in the export dialog for all formats. And regarding the naming of the outputted files then it could be just as simple as "documentName_layerName.ext". Good work so far, I'm really looking forward for the official release of Affinity Photo Cheers /johs
  21. I’m new to Affinity Photo. Thanks for this great software. I watched the tutorials and read the documentation but can’t figure how to do what I want to. I would like to export photos for website in 1x, 2x and 3x resolutions. I’m always editing the photos in the highest resolution (i.e. @3x) so I’m looking at an automated way to export at half resolution for @2x and at 1/3 resolution for @1x the current image. So far I was able to start with a picture at 1x resolution and use the Affinity Photo export persona to export this picture at 1x, 2x and 3x but it looks like upsampling was used to create the 2x and 3x resolutions and therefore is loosing some detail compared to downsampling the 3x picture to 2x and 1x. Is there a way automatically export at half and third resolution for @2x and @1x? I’m looking to export the whole area of the document (the whole photo), not just slice of it. Thank you.
  22. Affinity Photo for iPad is a powerhouse for editing pictures from digital cameras... one at a time. This philosophy is embedded in every single aspect of the workflow, from importing and making adjustments all the way to exporting. I have created an account on this website precisely to be able to ask the developers or marketers of the app (if they ever read this) who and why they’ve decided to blatantly limit the functionality of the iPad version of the app compared to the desktop version. The fact that this limitation in function is not mentioned anywhere in the description on iTunes Store or in any of the tutorials or promotionals videos is appalling and borders false advertising. But I guess the answer has been in the title all along...after all, it’s Affinity Photo not Affinity Photos... Inquisitively and respectfully, Mihai
  23. GEAR: Affinity Photo for iPad on an iPad Pro 9.7” ISSUE: My default RGB Profile is Adobe RGB for working with raw images. When I choose "Export” and then change the ICC Profile to “sRGB” the resulting JPEG remains with the Adobe RGB profile. Is there something simple I’m missing on the iPad version to ensure exported images are given the proper ICC profile? (Note: I'm a long-time user of Affinity products, so asking this question is a bit embarrassing, but I think I’ve been looking at this problem for too long after processing a large batch of images that all ended up with the wrong color profile. )
  24. Hi Guys, I have been trying to export png's of icons for a website. These are pretty small but there's a lot of them as they are used in CSS sprites. Normally I would export these as a gif or png8, but your settings only allow export to be dithered and that gives me some real quality issues. I'd love it if we could have an option not to dither the png8 and gif exports. I've attached the following files so you can see the problem: - site-product-icons11-OLD - The original png8 file out of Photoshop, undithered - I have just added 1 icon to the bottom of this file site-product-icons11a128 - 128 export (dithered) out of Affinity Photo - you can see the problem in spots of colour on say the LR logo 900px down and the steel logo at 450px down site-product-icons11a256 - as above but more colours to see if that was the issue site-product-icons11 - png24 export not showing these issues (no surprise really), but is almost 3x the file size. Thanks
  25. So I'm using the I have 2 documents open... #1 has 13 artboards setup to export using "continuous export". #2 has 2 artboards setup to export using "continuous export". Just as I was typing this forum post #1 exported and auto-opened all of the files into Preview. It's been randomly doing that over the last hour or two. What's triggering it, I don't know. I've not touched the file for quite a while but it randomly regenerates all of the artboard exports. Seems like a bug to me. What say you? (Off topic: how do I turn off the feature to auto open the exported files in Preview?)
