  1. If you align stroke other then to middle while rendering there will be some graphic artifacts. Fill color will show up there it should not. Or there will be transperent gap between stroke and fill. That makes stroke alignment feature unusable for quality export graphic. Is there a way to fix this?
  2. I'm exporting an afdesign file as an SVG for a machinist, but the export comes out just over 4 times bigger than the original. Any ideas?

    Can't export to PDF

Hello, I cannot export to PDF on affinity designer (or AF but not worried about that). I've tried with blank documents and ones I need to print for production and all get the same error. There is no third party software and I've just installed AD fresh, tried different colour spaces etc as suggested by other people in the forum and nothing works. This is a feature I need working as most of the printers here require pdfs to print from. Please can I get some help on this error?
  4. I don't know what to say here, other than I cannot export my image without seeing large blue areas (see the attached sample). The image shows with the correct color spectrum in Affinity. I've exported the image to JPEG and PNG, with the same faulty results. I already tried the new 1.6.5 beta, and I have the same results.
  5. Hello I used publisher to do a very simple job, to add numbering in a pre-designed invoice pdf so I can print them. The imported pdf is saved from adobe illustrator with text as curves and it only have vectors in it. I import it as link and export it with "nothing to be rasterized" from publisher. The new file is 50 pages of basically the same page with page numbering, black vectors only (opened in designer and illustrator to make sure) but the file size is close to 10mb while a similar pdf saved from indesign is like 200-300kb (which make sense given the vector nature of the contents). What is going on here? Is it possible to reduce the file size? I know we are in an age that 10mb is not a big deal but I tend to keep my file in the cloud and my space there is limited.
  6. Is there a way to backup and restore my Custom Presets for the Export window? I've made a number of Custom Presets and would like to copy them to my second computer. I'm using Affinity Designer version 1.6.5.123 purchased and installed via the Microsoft Store. Thanks.
  7. Hi, I will like to see a slice tool feature that will allow me to slice my my designs and create html table. This will allow me to create html contents from my images/designs and also create hyperlinks. Where every slice will be a row or column in a table(tr/td). and each section of the slice can hold a hyperlink and more. It will now introduce export for web, which will create a html file with an inline css export to use for development. This will stop me from switching apps and will take AD/AP/Publisher to the next level to support web and see a good feature to support ux/ui design in prototyping And maybe later add a responsive feature to the slices made. Thanks Affinity team Please look at this. @MEB @Mark Ingram @stokerg @Sean P @TonyB
  8. This would be a great feature for people using Affinity to create SVG web icons. SVG supports symbols, which are basically re-usable bits of SVG. For example, given this SVG file: <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"> <symbol id="artboard1" width="10" height="10" viewBox="0 0 10 10"> <circle cx="5" cy="5" r="5" /> </symbol> </svg> You can use it in a page as follows: <a class="button"> <svg class="icon"><use href="/images/icons.svg#artboard1" /></svg> <span class="text">A button with a circle.</span> </a> Currently, Affinity exports artboards as transparent rects with an id when exporting an entire document. It would be awesome if we could instruct it to export it artboards as SVG symbols (like the first example), effectively turning Affinity Designer into an end-to-end sprite/icon sheet editor. Bonus feature: an option to export artboard names (outside the symbol element, positioned near it), so that the same sprite/icon sheet can be used for documentation (example: font-awesome).
  9. Hi, I have two HKS (K & N) colour systems as application palettes in A Photo on iPad. I can’ find the option to export them. If it’s not possible, what would be the easiest way to get them to desktop version? Can I transfer swatches from application palette to document palette in some easy way? I would open document on PC and then get the palletes. I hope, I don’t have to type in almost 170 colour values again. Thx.
  10. Hello, I'm fairly new to Affinity so hoping this is something simple, but i've recently gotten a presentation from a designer (probably originally designed in InDesign) and then sent to me as a PDF, and needed to tweak some words in it which I did by bringing it into Affinity, and when I exported it as a PDF there were little grey lines around each of the images and the colours seemed slightly different (the green was slightly duller). I have uploaded some pages below to show you what I mean, the Documents page and Flock Event Presentation are the original files, and the two screenshots are what that document looked like after I exported to a PDF (you can see a slight grey outline on the blue page around the phone). Original colours can also be seen on the website, www.flockplatform.com Hope you can help. Thanks! Simone
  11. Designer 1.5.2.58 When I have an Artboard 851x315 pixels and Exporting this the Pixels change to 852x315 pixels. It's important to fix that bug it comply the Artboard dimensions. It's a very big problem when uploading to Facebook. Please fix that, Poul Erik
  12. A quick search and I couldn't find anything. There should be a way to easily export a selected embedded document. This is especially important when you have to share open files with colleagues who need to use assets in other software or suites. Many web developers I work with require the original images I use in my layouts - so the can set up their websites to automatically crop and treat images in the same manner.
  13. Hi there, I am using affinity designer on a mac and currently experiencing this problem. I need to export the final image for print as a banner and it is quite large. I can export a png file ok but not a pdf. I don't have access to the original file as I am not the original artist. Any help on getting this resolved would be much appreciated. I am currently using 1.61 which seems to be the latest version for mac. Thank you, Miriam
  14. Hello, First, sorry for my poor English. It happens in using Affinity Designer. If I use KoPub Batang font, exported pdf doesn't show Korean characters. With embed all font doesn't work for that fornt, but work text as curves. I just add sample file and font KoPub Batang_Pro Medium.otf that is free font font-problem.afdesign font-problem.eps font-problem.pdf
  15. Hi! Is it possible to automatically adjust the size of the slice to the same size as the document? I have several layers and all of them I need to save as separate files with different file formats (some as PNG, some as JPEG, etc.). I need a little bit of support on this case from Affinity Photo community. ;) Thanks in advance for help! :)
  16. Hi, I downloaded the AD form the Mac App Store yesterday and started working. Everything I export is coming out blurry. I have the document setup at 300dpi and when I export it, it just comes out pixelated. Even just text that looks perfect in AD is pixelated at the edges when I export. I am exporting as png or jpg for web. I have done it just as an export as well as a slice and nothing is coming out clear. Pretty frustrating. Is there something that I am doing wrong or is this just a glitch? Any help would be appreciated. I have attached a screen shot of the text in AD and then the exported PNG so you can see what I am talking about. Thanks Brody
  17. One of my tasks requires quickly regenerating a set of images (sometimes hundreds) based on a template. This is currently accomplished either with Adobe Indesign or Adobe Photoshop with Data Merge. I set up a CSV with columns which are attached to layers within the document. There are three options: 1.) Set the Text content of a Layer 2.) Set the Visibility of a Layer On/Off 3.) Set the contents of a Layer to a File Once you have the layers attached to columns and the CSV imported, you can preview each row, set the display to a specific row and export one/all images based on the data in each row. I could identify several more options that I would love to have (set the fill color of a layer) but the minimum needed would be Visibility and Text. Unfortunately, I cannot abandon the Adobe products until I have another way to accomplish this merging of data. I have not found any alternative software to accomplish this merging, so I am willing to bet there is a market for it. Inkscape has a plugin that nearly does it, but it is not implemented well and does not work with all shapes.
  18. Hi Affinity Team, I am having some issues with PNGs with transparency. If I add these PNGs inside a CMYK document and export them as PDF I get different colors behind the transparency of the PNG. This happens when I use the format PDF/X-1a:2003 or PDF/X-3:2003. If I use the PDF/X-4 the transparency problem does NOT occur. I am also having these issues with other pixel graphics as well, when I use blend modes like multiply. Please check the files attached to see what I mean. It would be great to fix this issue since most professional printer would like to have files with the PDF/X-3:2003 format. Thanks and Kind Regards Tim test.afdesign Test.pdf
  19. Hi, I'm evaluating AD for creating SVG files in a specific format, required by an internal software. What I see so far in the exported SVG is ok. But instead of getting the formatting in the style attribute <rect id=":24W16" x="261.857" y="244.422" width="26.47" height="30.95" style="fill:#c4d8f9;"/> I would prefer to get stroke and fill like this (result of another software with it's own quirks) <rect x="259" y="214" width="32.5" height="38" transform="matrix(1,0,0,1,0,0)" id=":24W16" fill="rgb(196,216,249)"/> Any export options that allow for this that I haven't found yet? Background: the SVG will be loaded into a HTML page and custom CSS will get applied to the SVG. The inline style in the SVG has highest priority and overrules what's in the CSS. Yes, there is a workaround by making everything in the CSS !important but that is a dirty hack that I'd like to avoid. Affinity Designer is the last in a long list of vector editors I'm trying, saving as SVG seems always a bad compromise, sigh :-( Regards, Jens
  20. Hi, I have spent hours trying to figure out why the edges on this logo when exported become rough & pixelated. The logo will be used for print & web - I have tried multiple Document Settings including; Type: Web - 1280 px by 800 px 72 DPI & 300 DPI, Type: Print - 2000px, 3000px - 300 DPI. All coming out distored, pixelated or with black lines. I have also tried to rasterize which didnt work. Is there something I am missing here? Document set up quality? I'm stuck! I just need clean crisp edges on the logo. I have attached images of Affinity view screen with 100% zoom along with image of exported PNG, PDF & JPG Thanks!
  21. Anyone having an issue with export function not saving the entire image? Everytime I export this image it's only partial. The body of the snake is a vector object with holes subtracted to allow the mint color to show through, and a mask layer placed on top to contain the galaxy image appearing between/around the subtracted circles. When I open the file most of the subtracted scales (circles) are missing. I've checked the fills, opacity, etc nothing is wrong. Is it a bug or am I doing some thing wrong? It does this no matter what type of export file I use. The first is the image as it appears before export, the second is what happens after when I try to open it in another application/view the file. halp?
  22. I'm not sure this is a bug. If not it's a bit confusing. I intend to export selected pages to PDF from a document. If I select Area: All pages, and specify some pages by page number, the result is a PDF with only the first page in the document. The first page is not among those selected for export. Publisher 249 on windows 10. Settings attached.
  23. I have a file where I put my resume and cover letter. As I edit them regularly I have enable continuous export. However while checking my last files I realised that a frame is adding to some logo that have a transparent background. I have checked everything but nothing seems wrong on my side. Is it a bug or I'm really wrong? Thanks you CV.afdesign
  24. The line thinkness of the text frame in the exported SVG is wrong. (PDF and JPG are correct). Steps to reproduce: create a new document create a new text frame, insert some text View/Studio/Text-Frame - create a contour line, e.g. red, solid, 4pt - ensure that scale with object is not checked duplicate the text frame move the new text frame (so that both text frames are visible) resize the new text frame - e.g. double the with by dragging export to SVG --> the countour of the new text frame has not the expected width. test1.svg test1.afpub
  25. Hi I have converted an image supplied in RGB to greyscale, to place in a book of (overwhelmingly) text, but no matter what I seem to do, when I export to PDF it seems to convert back to RGB. I am trying to export so everything is on one plate for printing. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug, (or something in development). Everything else seems to be working pretty well - so thank you Affinity! Would be glad of any advice. Best Westrow
